Hi, everyone. I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today we have the JR Products key, handle, and hook door holder. Now this is gonna be a six-inch long set of brackets that you attach to the front of your door and to the handle. That way, this keeps the door open so you don't have to. This is available in different lengths depending on how much you want your door open or not open, meaning the angle you have it at.
This is gonna be very convenient if you do not yet have one if you're the type of person that stays parked and likes to get in and out of their camper pretty often. With the handle being six inches long, this is gonna be a good in-between where we have a very wide open door but also still easy to access and get into. Now, there are different color options and this part was really important to me because I have what I thought was an off-white camper, so I thought this colonial white and what some people may consider ivory was a good matching color. And that was compared to polar white, which is this very bright white, or what I had replaced, which is black. So those three color options are available here at etrailer, depending on which one you feel matches your camper a little bit more.
When it's not holding open your door, this is what your two brackets look like when you're gonna be driving around. Now, you'll often have this handle facing at the back of the trailer so it doesn't get caught up in the wind. Now, some brackets do have like a little catch for your handle when not in use. This one does not, so you may have a little bit of moving around as you drive around. That is gonna be the downside of the more entry-level bracket like what we have here.
But if you are just looking for a door holder and the sides as well as the color matches what you are looking for, then this is how it looks and how it works and hopefully helps explain as well the different lengths and options available for you and which one you may prefer. Now, I did uninstall the old door holder to put this one on, so let's go take a look at that process. Here we have both sides of our door holder. So this has been on here for a while. You can see that the plastic has degraded a little bit in the sun and in the environment.
So the first thing we're going to do is take a look at the hardware on there, making sure we have a matching bit and then install. (screwdriver whirring) Once you have the bolts removed, you're probably gonna have some gunk behind the brackets. So just make sure to clean that off before installing your new one. Now, with our new replacement brackets, this is when you would go over and double-check that the holes on the brackets line up with the holes in your camper. If not, that's when you drill new holes. The good news is that this kit includes hardware, so I'm just gonna go and grab (screwdriver whirring) Philip's head bit to secure this. Now, when you install the T bracket, you need to make sure that the T is facing the right way. So the narrow part, well, that's gonna be facing your handle. And the larger part is gonna be facing away. So here we are on the door, and this is where we have it oriented. So with that confirmed, I'm gonna secure this. (screwdriver whirring) For the T handle, you're gonna do the same thing, bringing it over. Now, since this doesn't have a bumper, we don't have to be as precise since this swings either way. We'll just get it lined up and screw this one in. (screwdriver whirring) With both parts secure now, let's go check it out and see how it fits. Double-check that this lines up height-wise and fits into the bracket. There we go. It's a fit. So for me personally, after installing this, while I did initially think I wanted the colonial white because I thought my camper was off-white, the color isn't quite the match that I was looking for, and I think that I'm gonna go look at the shorter black version instead. I do like having the door way open when I'm using the camper, so getting the four-inch might be my preferred one. But for some people, they want to go the other route. It's totally about what camper you have, where you're using it, and what your camper looks like to make sure you get the best fit. So if you have a camper and you're using this door holder, please let us know. If you send in a picture, you can help inspire some other people who are looking for design inspiration for their own trailers. This was a look at the JR Products T handle door holder that's six inches long, and the one specifically here today is the colonial white version right here at etrailer.
T really struggles to go into door keeper. Im not pleased with this purchase.
