This unique adjustable ball mount from Gen-Y Hitch has a vertical shank that is made up of 4 stacked 2" receivers that can accept almost any hitch-mounted accessory. This lets you easily adjust the height of the included ball mount, or any other accessory you choose to use. This mount also has built-in shock absorption to ensure a safe, smooth towing experience. Using technology similar to that found in torsion trailer axles, the Gen-Y mount absorbs road shock, isolating any rough jarring or chucking at the connection point. This prevents the rough motion from transferring from the vehicle to the trailer and vice versa.
Driving over bumps, potholes, and uneven terrain causes road shock, which can result in a rough, bumpy ride and even potentially damage your vehicle or trailer. This Gen-Y Hitch torsion mount is designed to absorb road shock at the connection point to create a safe, smooth ride. This is thanks to the internal construction of the mount, which is similar to that of a torsion axle.
Pivot points are built into the Gen-Y mount. This allows for movement between the base, which slides into your vehicle's trailer hitch, and the stacked receivers, which provide the connection point for your trailer. When your trailer hits a bump, the stacked receiver portion of the mount will move up or down accordingly.
Built into the Gen-Y mount are tubes with inner bars that are surrounded by rubber cords. As the receivers rise or fall, these inner bars twist inside of the tubes, attempting to follow the receivers' motion. But the rubber cords prevent the bars from twisting too far. And as each bar turns, these cords compress to absorb the shock. This means that any shock experienced by your truck can be absorbed before it reaches your trailer, and the shock experienced by your trailer won't get transferred to your truck.
This type of shock-absorption system is easy to maintain. Just regularly apply grease to the built-in zerk to keep the components in working condition. No airbags to fill. No small parts to repair or replace. No hassle.
This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 4 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.
Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.
With the 4 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. Insert a bike rack or cargo carrier. Mount a spare tire carrier. Use a tow bar to flat tow your vehicle. Or just add a fun hitch cover.
Because this mount has such a significant drop, a stabilizer kit is included to prevent any wobble and to keep the mount stable and sturdy as you tow. Simply bolt or weld the brackets onto your truck's frame, and connect the stabilizer bars to the back of the Gen-Y mount. The stabilizer bars can easily be adjusted to span the distance between your vehicle's frame and the Gen-Y ball mount.
If you remove the mount from your hitch, the stabilizer bars can be disconnected from the brackets using the included pins and clips so that you can remove the bars from your vehicle as well.
Note: Because of how the stabilizers install on the ball mount, this mount should only be used in the drop position.

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount with stacked receivers. This is going to allow you to hook your trailer up to your tow vehicle, and that torsion design is going to provide some shock absorption to make it a much smoother ride for you. Now, this is going to slide right into your two-inch by two-inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle, and then it will provide both a two-inch ball here and a 2 and 5/16 inch ball as well as a pintle lock. So it's going to give you a variety of options of what kind of trailers you can get hooked up to.
So if you are the kind of person that's gonna be switching between different kinds of trailers frequently, this is gonna be a great option for you. So whether you have a two-inch ball coupler, a 2 and 5/16 inch ball coupler, or a lunette ring, this will work out really well for you. This is a very heavy duty steel construction. Gen-Y has a great reputation for building very robust, solid products. And this is no exception.
It is very heavy duty. With our two-inch ball, we're going to have a gross towing weight capacity of 12,000 pounds, a maximum tongue weight of 1,500 pounds. With our 2 and 5/16 inch ball, we're going to get a gross towing weight of 16,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight of 1,700 pounds. For our torsion system to really engage properly, we are gonna have a optimum ride tongue weight of between 1,200 pounds and 1,700 pounds. And the reason for that is because the torsion function there is gonna need at least that 1,200 pounds to adequately engage.
And if it has more than that 1,700 pounds, it's gonna be too much for it. But to help you with that, they do include a tongue weight scale here that is going to have this white line painted on and then this red, green and red sticker here. So when you have your trailer fully loaded and ready to go, you wanna make sure that that white line is lined up with that green portion of the sticker to ensure that it is within that optimum tongue weight scale. So it's nice that they include that. There is one on both ends, so very easy to see and make sure that you're gonna be within that optimum tongue weight range.
If you're not familiar with the concept of torsion, this is kind of a similar cutout here. So at each of our pivot points, we're going to have a square bar on the inside with rubber cords on all sides. And so, as you experience shock, jolting, and that sort of thing, your trailer is going to pivot this inner bar, but then the rubber cords there are going to help absorb that movement. So it's not gonna transfer from your trailer up to your tow vehicle and vice versa. So it's gonna make it a much smoother ride for you. It is going to have fewer moving parts than other shock absorbing designs out on the market. So like your airbags that require you to add air to it and take air away, this is gonna require less maintenance. There's fewer parts that would need to be replaced or repaired. We do have grease zerks up here at the top. Try and show that to you. Right up here, might be difficult to see for you, but there is a grease zerk here at our main pivot point, and that's gonna make it very easy for us to just pump a little bit of grease in there, keep everything well lubricated. And that's really all the maintenance that you're gonna have to do, so very easy to maintain. This does have these four stacked two-inch by two-inch hitch receivers. So this is going to allow us to accommodate trailers with different ride heights so we can move our ball mount and pintle lock up and down between those four receiver tubes to accommodate those different ride heights, make sure our trailer's gonna be nice and level. If we have our ball mount in the lowest setting, our maximum drop from the top inside edge of our receiver tube or the top of our shank here down to our ball platform, it's gonna be 12 and 1/2 inches. So if your trailer coupler sits 12 and 1/2 inches lower than the top of your hitch, top inside edge of your hitch, this is gonna work for you to make sure that that's level. And then we also have several settings above that. So if you're not quite to that 12 and 1/2 inch drop, this will still work well for you. So these receiver tubes are gonna work for our included ball mount and pintle lock, but they'll also work for your other hitch-mounted accessories as well. So if you're not towing, and you wanna throw on a bike rack or something like that, can very easily do that. They do include two of these 5/8 inch diameter pins and clips to keep our accessories in place. So very simple to just pull out those pins or the clips, move the pin and then move the ball mount where we need it. And a pintle lock can actually slide back there. It's got a second hole. So if we're not needing it, we can just slide it back, keep it stored in place and still have that easy access for our ball coupler. Because this mount does have such a significant drop, they do include the stabilizer kit here, these arms that are going to mount onto your vehicle's frame. So these are going to help take wiggle and movement away and it's gonna help support some of that weight as well. This can be removed if you're gonna be taking off your mount here on the backside. It's got a simple pin here that will allow this portion to slide out, but we can also remove the pins up here on these brackets to allow the arms to be removed. These brackets can be either welded or bolted onto your vehicle's frame and the length of the arms can be adjusted from 24 to 33 inches simply by putting a screwdriver or something like that in this hole here and twisting. This tube kind of turns and unscrews to accommodate or adjust that length to accommodate your setup. Make sure everything's gonna be nice and solid for you. And this does have a zinc primer powder coat finish, zinc primer and powder coat finish. That's gonna help resist corrosion. Does also have the matte black finish on the ball mount and our pintle lock here. This does meet the J 684 standard. So it is J 684 certified, so you can trust it is gonna do a good job for you, meet those high quality standards. It is made here in the USA. So you can trust it is gonna be made to the high standards that we've come to know and trust for products made here in the US. And like I said, Gen-Y does have a great reputation for building very solid, robust products. So I think you're gonna be very happy with this if you are needing that drop and you want that shock absorbing capability. We do have others that are kind of similar, use that torsion design, have the stack receivers. Some of them aren't as extreme so you don't need the arms there. So if that's a point of concern for you, I would encourage you to check out some of those other options as well, but that's gonna complete our look for today. I hope this video has answered any questions that you have. If you still have questions, I would encourage you to reach out to us here at etrailer.com.
