This Generation III Classic Personal snowplow is the most recent innovation from SnowBear. This plow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch (sold separately) for easy, convenient mounting. It has a remote-controlled electric winch that will let you raise and lower the plow without leaving the warmth and comfort of your cab. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain. Angled trip springs are also built in to help keep the blade from catching and tripping.

Simple, Hitch-Mounted Installation

HITCH MOUNTING

This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. Unlike a plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets, which ties you down to just 1 vehicle, this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.

To install the Personal snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver . Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.

How to Plow

Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, or 22 degrees to the left or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.

To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote or the in-cab toggle switch, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the Personal snowplow.

When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.

Easy Lifting with Electric Winch

WINCH

The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using a toggle switch that mounts in your cab. You can also use the included wireless remote control. The winch uses a durable nylon strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.

Better than a snowblower!! Made very well, had it put together and mounted in a couple hours. Used it for two small snowfalls and it worked as expected. Great customer service from etrailer!

2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I bought a Snow bear personal plow and a separate Curt receiver hitch for the front of my 2012 F250.. after speaking with Erica W. several times due to blunders on my part, all was perfect. Quick delivery, price was right, items are super rugged. The stock photos don't do justice. My plow came in at 350 pounds without the receiver hitch. It's not a cheap toy plow. Get one, they'll fit nearly anything! Thanks Erica!!

2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty

The quality and fit is exceptional. So much so that this is the third hitch assembly I've purchased and installed. This one was for my brother in-laws 1999 F350. I also put a 10k winch on a slider that works perfectly with this assembly. Other vehicles I purchased and installed assemblies on are a 2011 F350 and a 2016 Class C motorhome. Very happy.

Great receiver. Didn't actually fit my truck's front bumper, but I was able to make some spacers to get it mounted. Works great for the mounting spot for a rig that holds my kayak on top of the truck.

2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I installed this on my 2004 F350 super duty. The install was straight forward and for the most part easy. I did have a hard time getting the nuts on the top bolts even with the handles on them just from lack of space, but got them on there and it looks clean.

by: Nv Mb10/29/2019

Well built. Good hardware included. Not a perfect fit. Definitely required some additional drilling and fabrication. Budget some extra time.

by: Jonathan02/24/2018

Just as expected. Makes your bumper stick out about a 14 inch further but you cant really tell without carefull inspection.

Ask the Experts about this Snow Plow
Do you have a question about this Snow Plow?

  • Is it Okay to Back Drag Snow with the 84" Wide SnowBear Personal Snowplow for 2" Hitches
  • Yes, I spoke with my contact at SnowBear and they confirmed that you can back drag with the Personal Snowplow for 2" Hitches # SB324-081. It won't perform nearly as well, but it can be used for this application. If you don't already have a front mount hitch receiver on your vehicle just let me know the year/make/model and I can make a recommendation for you!

  • Snowbear Plow Receiver Hitch vs Custom Mount
  • The biggest difference I have seen between the two style is in the amount of play they have side to side. While it isn't a ton there is more play in the single connection point than what you will get out of the custom frame bracket types. We carry both types here but given the choice I would go with the custom bracket version. If you plan on moving it from one vehicle to another from time to time then the hitch mount is the way to go for ease of use. There is a great option with custom

  • Do You Have a Wiring Diagram for the Snowbear Personal Snow Plow # SB324-081?
  • I went ahead and attached the wiring diagram for the 84-Inch Wide Snowbear Personal Snow Plow # SB324-081. If you need assistance with reading voltage when customizing your switch, I recommend using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993.

  • Wiring for SnowBear Personal Snow Plow
  • According to the control box wiring diagram (see attached) 2 of the wires for the SnowBear Personal Snowplow for 2" Hitches # SB324-081 go to the electric winch and 2 of them go to the battery. The only other thing that you might have is a switch for light accessories but the black wires for that setup go to ground. If none of this matches what you have then go ahead and send me a photo and/or a part number for the box you are looking at and I can see if there is anything else I can find out.

  • Solution for SnowBear Snow Plow that Wobbles When Raised Up While Traveling
  • I spoke with SnowBear about the issue you described and they said it sounds like you aren't using the safety chain that came with the plow which was designed for removing the play you are describing. There's more info on it on pages 13 and 14 in the manual of the plow. Secondly, vehicles with plows connected should NOT travel on roadways without the safety chain installed, as this may result in serious damage to the roadway, plow and vehicle and may cause serious injury to the operator.

  • Comparing the Curt Front Hitch 31114 and the Draw-Tite Front Hitch 65022 for a 2000 Ford F-250
  • There are virtually no structural differences between the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31114 and the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65022 for your 2000 Ford F-250. They both install in the exact same location and allot for a 500/5,000 Lb vertical load and line pull rating. The main reason for the price difference is that the Curt hitch is made in the USA and has a more resistant powder coating. I have attached a sample install video for you as well.

The hitches are nearly identical in appearance, have the same weight ratings and would install in the same manner. • Why is Curt Front HItch 31114 Difficult to Install on 1999 Ford F350 Super Duty 4x4
  • Our contact at Curt Manufacturing said that it sounds like you have a blocker beam on your 99 F350 Super Duty 4x4. A blocker beam is a 3 inch by 1 inch steel bar that mounts underneath the frame on the front of the vehicle and could be the reason your hitch will not mount correctly. In that case you would need a Curt Front Hitch for the 1999 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty part # C31014. However, if your truck is a cab and chassis model this hitch will not work either.
