Installation is quick and simple - just slide included shank assembly into your 2" receiver and secure with pin.
Then lift the blade, one end at a time, onto the frame's holders and fasten with snap pins.
The SnowSport HD blade is mounted on an angled, 3-position shank assembly, allowing you to plow to the left, to the right or straight ahead.
To plow, lower the blade and begin driving; no wiring or hydraulics are needed. The unique push frame on the shank assembly allows the blade to move along the grade of the terrain for easier, more efficient plowing. The heavy-duty rubber cutting edge is effective yet turf friendly, collecting snow and squeegeeing slush without digging into the ground.
When you reverse direction, the blade lies back, skimming over the surface of the ground so that you can easily take another pass.
Once you're finished plowing, just lift the blade and refasten into the travel position. inaudible 00:00:00 etrailer.com. Today, we're going to walk through how to install a front mount hitch on your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Limited. This is what our hitch is going to look like when it's installed. This is going to give us the ability to add items on the front of our Jeep if our hitch on the back is being used. For instance, we can put cargo carriers, bike racks, we can put winches on here, maybe you want to out a front tire or spare tire carrier on there. It's going to help with even moving trailers if you move trailers a lot, it's going to make it a lot easier to move those trailers around, or even a snow plow.
This hitch is going to work great for all of those.This is going to be a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, reinforced collar to give us a little stability there, hitch pin hole, it's going to 5/8" in diameter, it's going to take a standard 5/8 hitch pin. Hitch pin and clip does not come with this hitch, however it can be found here at etrailer.com. It's going to come with all the necessary hardware. It's not going to require any welding or drilling to get it installed, this is a very simple installation. Black powder coat finish, it's going to be a steel construction so it's going to be very durable, the black powder coat finish is really going to hold up well against that rust and corrosion.There is one other option for a front end mounted hitch on your Jeep and that's going to be the draw type.
The difference between the two is the draw type or with the inaudible 00:01:19, I should say, it's going to have a plate that mounts, then reattach these bolts down here on the bottom with a draw type. You're not going to have that. With the curtain, being able to reattach these bolts on the bottom, you're going to have a lot less likely that the bottom of the pan is going to flap around. It's not just going to be held on by your push pin fasteners up underneath the bumper.Now, I'm going to give you a few measurements and weight capacities to hep you on deciding on any of your hitch front accessories you may need such as a bike rack, ball mount, or cargo carrier. From the center of our hitch pin hole to the outer most part of our bumper is going to be about eight inches.
That number's important for any of your hitch mount accessories like your bike racks and cargo carriers that may fold up against your vehicle. From the ground to the top innermost part of your receiver tube is going to be 18 inches. Keep that number in mind for any of your hitch mount accessories that may require a little bit more ground clearance. Now, as far as our weight capacities go, we're going to have a 350 pound max towing weight, which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube. Whatever you may be loading on it, you want to make sure you're not exceeding that downward pressure.
With this being a front mounted hitch, we're going to have a 9000 pound straight line pull, that's how much the hitch can pull. I would recommend checking the owner's manual of the Jeep and make sure the vehicle can withstand that amount of weight. You're going to go with lowest number between the vehicle and the hitch. I always recommend also to make sure that the front axle can handle that amount of weight.Now that we've gone over some of the features, let me walk you through how to get it installed. To start installation, we need to remove this plastic pan. Take a flathead screwdriver or a trim panel tool, we're going to have some fasteners that run across the bottom side of the bumper. We're going to pry out the center and then we'll pull out the whole thing. This panel here, you're going to have one up behind it that you'll need to remove. We're going to take a 5/16 socket, we're going to have a bolt here and a bolt on the other side. And then we'll set this aside.Then we're going to take a 5/8 socket, we're going to remove this middle guard. Push up. When we're putting our hitch up, we're going to have two brackets that look like this. Each bracket's going to have a little tab on it, you want that tab to face in. Hex bolt, conical tooth inaudible 00:03:47, make sure the teeth are facing toward the hitch. We're going to line up with the existing weld nuts, we're going to go through the bracket into the hole. We're going to have the same thing on the other side. We're going to be putting our hardware into the frame rail and we're going to come out of this hole and this hole. Hardware we're going to be using, the bolt and a plate. We're going to go in, through the hole in the frame rail, slide it into the hole, and put on the nut. For out bottom one, we're going to have to come up through the bottom so make sure you don't tighten this lower bolt. Slide this plate to the side a little bit. This one may be a little tight. Now we're going to repeat that same thing on the other side.We'll take a 17 mm socket and wrench, we're going to torque, or tighten and then torque all of our hardware to specifications in the instructions. On this plate that we removed, you're going to have a metal clip on the end, we're going to take it off. We're going to put it on the bottom of each plate that we installed. And then for your front rock guard, just follow the instruction on how to cut it. You will have to cut this little tab off to get it to slide in between your bumper and your hitch. And then we can reinstall the push pin fasteners and our two factory bolts to hold up the backside of our pan. Once you have your pan back on, you're ready to go.That's going to do it for a look at installation on the Curt front mount hitch on our 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler.

Fits perfect and works just as I needed it to. I use it for my SnowSport plow set-up on a 2022 Gladiator Sport Max Tow. I’ve been using front receivers for this same plow for the last 24 years. It’s been used on 5 different trucks and this front receiver mount plow is the BEST.
*** When installing on a Gladiator(possibly the Wrangler as well), the front plastic trim below the bumper needs to be cut for receiver clearance. I wanted a tight and “factory looking” install, so I took my time with a vibrating cutter and very sharp utility knife. After trying to put it back in place, the hole is not just square, it’s shaped more like. “T”. I suggest you make small adjustments/cuts as you go forward. It may take several times fitting and cutting to get it right and tight, but in the end it does look like it came that way from JEEP. On the Max Tow package, there is also a metal skid plate that does not get reinstalled. Unfortunately that piece is where the back of the plastic fascia mounts. I ended up securing it with some long heavy-duty zip-ties and it’s worked well for a year now. Just an FYI for those installing the same receiver on their same vehicle.

Installed real easy. Cuttingbthe plastic rock guard was the hardest part.
Opened the box and instructions were bad, OK you added the video the video when is OK. The parts seen of matching OK (not 100% verifying the list of parts and qualities). Shipping way odd and for a e-shipping no thing over a week, then boom you are shipping and here (odd). It is raining now - - so no installing a hitch in the driveway today...

The hitch worked OK, even if the instructions were not so good. My hitch for the home snow plow worked OK for the winter.

All was great. Good quality product. Install instructions for cutting the front pan were incorrect. The hitch design appears to have changed from the instructions provided. A much different cut-out was required making many installs and removals. The 3 X 5" cut-out in the instructions is incorrect.

Great, but installation was a bit more challenging then identified
We installed this on our 2011 Honda Ridgeline and a week later it snowed... And snowed.... And snowed.. 5 feet in 24 hours ( we live on the lake near Buffalo) and it's still snowing... This wasn't good, it was AWESOME! It was an easy install and assembly and worked absolutely perfect! We have a tough driveway and this kept it clear with no issues, no problems and we used it all day and night! When you spend that much on something you've never even seen before you can have reservations... It's worth every penny. It's solid ( more than we thought it would be) and does the job with ease. No .. It's good, but...... It's exactly as advertised and etrailer not only had the best price, the communication with my order was exceptional. Now... If only the town could send a plow down my street.....

Keeping in mind, I ordered this in December, about 5 days before our first big snow, here in Ohio. Within an hour of ordering my SnowSport HD plow, I was upgraded to special priority shipping, that was a nice surprise! The plow arrived in about two days, in three boxes, as I ordered the front hitch at the same time. I feel bad for my UPS carrier, these boxes were not for the faint of heart. The assembly went smoothly, the manufacturer uses high end parts and everything is well marked and the instructions are easy to follow. I estimate it took me two hours to get everything put together, with a coffee break in between. I am impressed with the construction, wow. Heavy duty is right!
We had four inches of snow yesterday. I opened the garage door and went to work, two pushes to clear the parking spots, and one easy push down the two hundred foot gravel driveway. Like butter.
I was done. It took less then 15 minutes. I put this blade on my 2003 rear wheel drive, not 4x4, Chevy Blazer. I backed into the garage and it looked like I had just put the blade on, this blade could last a long time. I love it. I cant wait until we get a foot or more of snow, my wife wants to plow next time. Plus I have cable chains comming from Etrailer, they should be here any day. Just in case my two wheel drive has tracktion problems in the deeper snow. Thanks a bunch, Etrailer!
Excellent. The receiver is of great quality and fitment was perfect. The installation video was a very nice resource allowing installation preparation and because of this I completed the receiver install in a little less than 30 minutes. This is the third Curt receiver I have purchased from etrailer and each time I have had the same exceptional experience with the product and etrailer.
It will be so nice to have the Jeep with us. But it didn’t take the 90 minutes but most of the day to put it on
I had a few hiccups while assembling (over tightening things early, I think) but once I got it together it’s been awesome. Clears easily and efficiently. Have used to clear as much as 14” of snow (that required pushing off to the side more often) but once you get used to the technique this thing is a lifesaver. I can clear a 300’ long driveway in 15 minutes or so for an average 4-5” snowfall.
Easy install. I have my winch attached to it and it works great. Much cheaper than getting a new bumper with integral winch.
Very easy install. Videos were great help. I like the idea of fish springs, I didn't need them, but tried it out, works great. Quality unit, made in USA.

This was one of the easiest installs / modifications ever. The install was pretty loose and forgiving when put into place but it tightened up nicely. I was a little worried about cutting the front fascia after seeing a couple of reviews where others has omitted it, but that too was actually really easy to do with a sharp razor knife. Everything was completed in just 45 minutes during my lunch hour in the parking lot at work!
Not hard to install at all, the hard part was getting the plastic clamps back into the air dam. LOL
It does what it's supposed to do, puts the snow from my driveways into piles not on my driveways. Got it over some of the other variations because it doesn't have electronics or wiring to break when its -30.
-Cutting edge that came with mine has been decently strong for running on gravel driveways.
-Light enough I can mount/unmount whenever I need to.
-Doesn't tear up lawns, which is where I have to push most of the snow I move.
--Needs a through eyebolt for quick connect back dragging rather than the ratchet strap idea they sell.
--Side panels are the weak link of the system
they cut in hard and make the plow jumpy while turning
the nubs on the back are also not deep enough to allow the plow to free stand when storing
and as hard as they are they get jammed right up with any sort of twig/leaf debris you might be plowing up
---I'll be replacing these with some sort of steel or aluminum panel with a tubing edge once they start to fail.
-- The sliding parts aren't powder coated so they'll need to be repainted every year or two or its going to rust right out.
Overall though it does what I wanted it to do, and paid for itself by saving me a lot of hours not having to shovel or snowblow. And even if my vehicle were ever to go down I could toss it on the back of another vehicle to get the snow moved.

It arrived in about 3 days, in 3 packages. I researched online extensively before choosing the SnowSport HD. Price at etrailer was about 10% cheaper than other sites. I already had the front hitch on my 2014 Honda Pilot, so all I had to do was assemble the plow and go play.
I had watched multiple videos of using and assembling the product, before ordering. All the time shoveling my driveway with a shovel as I had to get in and out and keep the driveway, ice free for visitors.
Everything was in the boxes, not a single bolt or washer missing. Assembly was as simple as I expected. I completed assembly without assistance in about 90 minutes, at a normal pace. Neither my cordless (nor corded) drill would screw the 3/8 self tapping screws to connect the two blade pieces, but it was not difficult to do them with a ratchet.
I set the height correctly for the front hitch, and I have a 6 inch hitch drop/riser that that should give me good plowing with the back hitch (have not tested yet, but expect good results)
The design is very well thought out, it is a quality product that will probably last the rest of my life (home use). I recommend it to others, and I would buy it again.
I ordered the plow as we finished getting about 10 inches of snow over a couple of days. The temperature stayed below freezing and there was still about 6 inches of snow to play in, when I had the plow mounted. Based on some reviews I had concerns that it might not do well, pushing piles of snow, or the snow that had been sitting for days. I was pleasantly surprised to be pushing even snow the city snow plow had mounded in front of the neighbors driveway. I plowed the neighbors from the street and about 80 feet in, without difficulty, three passes in a couple minutes and the job was done.
I live in a 1950s ranch home, with a single car garage (in basement) near Pittsburgh PA, my Honda Pilot fits in the garage with just inches to spare going through the door. The 7 foot blade is just a little narrower than the side view mirrors. So I can drive in and out. I have the blade and mount in the garage, and they are light enough that I can mount the blade front or back while in the warm garage and drive out to plow snow. Pull back in the garage, remove the blade and drive into to town to go to the office for work.
I am so excited to have this plow that, it probably will not snow more then a trace for a couple of years... Fate denying me the opportunity to play with it for a long time.
Great plow, fit my pickup good, cut my plowing to a third of the time. My pickup is a 1 ton diesel 4+4 bolted it on and went to work!!

The shipments arrived within days of ordering. The snow sport HD had easy to follow instructions . The plow was put together without any problems.
I had my local mechanic install the front receiver for me on my 2011 Ridgeline.
A day after everything was set to go, we got about six inches of wet snow.
I used the plow and I was very happy with it’s performance. I was able to clear my driveway and my neighbors in very little time. Overall I think it is a simple but effective plow for homeowners.

This is the greatest invention I think that has came out in a long long time don't let How deep the snow gets worried you because this product will plow snow all day long with no problems I've plow through snow in my lawn that has been 3 foot deep measured with a solid yardstick no problem to push it and that's on a Jeep Grand Cherokee that's the nice thing about this plow when you go pushing snow the deeper it gets it just moves up and down and keeps pushing the snow in front of you just make sure you push the snow back far enough the first time as with any plow wherever you leave your pile and it freezes in you won't move it again super great product this is my second one my first one I bought 10 years ago and it worked for 10 years with no problems whatsoever finally sold the vehicle so I let the plow go with it big mistake but that's okay cuz I just bought a brand new one great product great design anybody thinks this product won't work in Canada Alaska Erie PA this plow will work wherever there is snow.
Received and installed the plow today 11/27/17. The directions were perfect also the components fit great . I had ordered and installed a two inch front hitch on my 2011 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter V6 with no issues. Now just waiting for some snow to fall in upstate NY. Very quick ordering and delivery will recommend
A little fiddly to install for one person, when I added a helper everything went smoothly.
Also, if you're going to put the lower plastic tray back on the car, you'll find that the tray will need to be test fitted a few times to get the fitment of the push rivets correct. The slot you'll end up cutting isn't going to be a rectangle but more of a "T" slot. This is to account for the stiffing flange of the hitch.
Overall, a very stout and well built product.
