A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

A little tougher to install than the front ones but not too bad. Torklift tie downs are very well made, tried he bumper attached one but I guess bumpers aren't what they used to be I saw bending at the tie down after one trip. So bought these. Entrailer as usual priced well and fast shipping.

Have been using these for a year now and have complete confidence in them. Rock solid attachment points.

Tommy C recommended the TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs. The Instructions are great and very easy to follow. They supply some cool wire helpers to hold bolts in the frame for you. All went very smoothly and a very secure. I love how solid the Camper feels on the truck.

2013 Chevrolet Silverado

They are easy to install and work great with the torque lift camper tie-downs.
They are so strong that I use them as a step to reach things in the bed of the truck when the camper is not in the truck.

by: Kevin03/18/2024

No complaints they work as they should. Watch if your have aftermarket exhaust. Make sure you have clearance.

by: Kevin 03/18/2024

So far so good. They work great. Solid a year later.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I am satisfied with my purchase of the TLC2219 tie down system for my camper. It was installed on my 2014 Chevy diesel. The front set did require two pairs of hands to get the nuts and bolts in place.

by: William03/13/2021

etrailer has exceptional service. The tie downs work great.

2019 Ram 3500

From technical assistance in choosing the correct product, a great price, super fast shipping, and easy to follow directions: Perfect! I needed a quality set of truck camper tie-downs and the reviews pointed to TorkLift. They arrived in 3 days at 1300 and I had them installed by 1500 on my 2019 Sierra Denali 3500 dually. Super easy and strong as nails! Very pleased...

A little on the pricey side but they are heavy duty and well built. They work great and still look new after the first year.

Easy installation

Love these!! Made it feel like I actually had some control over my truck camper!! Before with the bed rail mounts I always felt like it was hanging on by a thread and it rocked and shifted constantly. Now it’s secure and I’m able to get to the boondocking locations I been wanting to get to for my [online] channel. “Work Less Enjoy Life More” ??

by: William 11/12/2023

Was delivered in two days as promised. Box was beat up but everything was still in it. Parts are way to tough to hurt
Pretty easy for a 73 year old guy to install.
One tip though, on the driver's side install the 1/2x5 bolt with the bolt head to the inside. Gives a little more clearance with the fuel tank. This is opposite of what the directions say.
Thanks Nick for the great service.

by: Kaela08/24/2023

The camper tie downs do not fit my vehicle and they won’t honor free shipping back to them. Customer service isn’t good and they apparently do not have ones to fit my vehicle.

by: Gordon04/26/2024

The holes did not line up going to have to have machine shop modify holes.$[XX] dollar expense.

by: Rande06/28/2023

After being told that all 3 items were in stock and that the order would be going out soon. I received a call from etrailer stating that the rear tie downs were not in stock and that they would have them shipped directly from the manufacture. Minor inconvenience but was handled smoothly to correct the problem.

by: Bart09/05/2019

Could not be happier with the quick service I received from etrailer and outstanding product I purchased. The install was a breeze with the easy to follow instructions and I am now able to stay wherever it is I am playing! Thanks for the great prices and good service ??

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Installed on 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. Absolute perfect fit on both sides. Thx for all the videos online etc... No joking, I had each on in 15 minutes. One is always apprehensive about fish wires and interior frame bolts. No problem here. I did do one thing different than any thing I read in instructions or saw on the internet. When I removed the top stock box bolt, I hung the unit loosely from the bolt. There was plenty room to move it around and install the frame bolt with the fish wire. Never lifting or holding the unit during this part of the install. Simply inserted the bolt into the frame with wire and hardware then into the the slotted hole of the unit, and added washers and nut. On this unit there's only one interior frame bolt. The other is thru frame. Excellent powder coat. Fantastic packing and boxing. Truly a first class outfitter.

Easy install on my truck. Simple easy to follow instructions. Work great and my camper feels very secure.

by: Jake 04/05/2024

Fast shipping and delivery even to Alaska. Thanks

by: Mike 02/29/2024

Solid set up for my truck little tricky to install need 2 guys at least I did but very solid set up

by: Don06/12/2020

I bought the TLC3212 for a pop up cabover camper. This is a strong well made steel mount that will outlast the truck. Total installation time for this was 15 minutes so its easy. That being said the written instructions are worthless and before you read them just put it in the fireplace kidling box. The video, unlike the TLC2220, is poor with many opportunities for remaking. Fortunately the mount is simple so most that can turn a wrench will figure it out. Note to the manufacture, please replace the long 2' bolt with a shorter one so you can get it into the leaf spring box.

Kit was complete and easy to install. The eTrailer install video on product page was very helpful. Took about 3 hours to install front and rear kits, and that included a sandwich and coffee break. ( RV dealer quoted me 4-6 hours @ $165/hour). Kit lined up with frame mounts exactly. I recommend a helper if you’re installing with truck in the driveway.

by: Glenn08/22/2022

The tiedowns work great. Even stood up to a rear end collision that busted truck and truck camper. I would recommend this product to anyone.

by: Thomas12/19/2021

Front tie-downs went on good, not too tough on this senior citizen who doesn't spend a lot of time underneath pickups. All hardware fit well. Went on 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500.
