Cabin Air Filter for easy DIY replacement

Breathe easier with a quick cabin air filter swap you can handle yourself. Installation is commonly at the glove box area—look for a small cover underneath or behind it, then follow the airflow direction arrows when sliding the filter in; some vehicles flow top to bottom. Some vehicles aren't equipped with a cabin air filter, so check for an access door before you start.
Most are behind or underneath the glove box. Look for a plastic cover held by Phillips-head screws, remove it, and you'll see a rectangular door with tabs. Pop the tabs to reach the filter. If the glove box won't drop, disconnect the small damper/rod; some have a tab that makes sliding it off tough, so release the pin on the other end instead. On some vehicles a left-side swivel restraint needs to be unhooked.
