Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2"
I got the hitch and made a appointment to have it put on. That fell through so I decided to tackle it myself. It was extremely easy, my wife helped hold it in place while I got the bolts started. I use the hitch which I install in the front of my 2500 Ram to haul my ebikes on a bike rack. Works excellent.
I was totally amazed at the quality and the fit to my truck this hitch went on so easy even though I have a brush guard on this truck also. This item went on in about 45 minutes and that was to unpack it and get out the tools start to finish.

Just what I was looking for. Thank you.
I ordered these two, front and rear for a 1990 GEO Tracker 4 wheel drive that I am rebuilding. I believed they would fit, I finally got around to mounting them and they don't fit, to large. I think I have had them to long to return them.

Needed a front hitch for a 2006 Ridgeline Honda truck. I found it on etrailer.com and a better price for same hitch on another online store. As I talked with the customer service agent, I was also offered a discount which was quite a surprise. Shipping was very fast. Had it installed on my truck so I could attach a mounting hitch and snow blade. I am extremely happy with this hitch and etrailer.com.
We live just south of Buffalo and Put this on our '11 Honda Ridgeline with a snowsport plow and a week later it snowed, and snowed and snowed... 5 feet in 24 hours and it's still snowing.... It's not good.... It's AWESOME! Not one driveway or even our street is clear... Except ours. It was easy to put together , easy to install and works exactly like it's advertised! It's November and it paid for itself already. Communication with etrailer was exceptional. We could not be happier with the whole setup.

Great customer service and product.
The quality and fit is exceptional. So much so that this is the third hitch assembly I've purchased and installed. This one was for my brother in-laws 1999 F350. I also put a 10k winch on a slider that works perfectly with this assembly. Other vehicles I purchased and installed assemblies on are a 2011 F350 and a 2016 Class C motorhome. Very happy.

Overall I love the front hitch and it's fit on my 2017 RAM 3500. There's been some reviews talking about the packaging and also about the installation, so here's my experience. The box was sturdy and was shipped via UPS. It arrives undamaged. There was some extra carboard added across the top of the box presumably to help protect the receiver. When I opened the box I noticed that one of the brackets was slightly bent. I thought this may have happened during shipping, so I placed the receiver in my bench vice and gently brought it back to square. DON'T DO THIS. It appears the slight bend in the bracket is intentional. The receivers fits very snugly to the truck frame so that bend it to make installation easier. When I tried to install the receiver it was so tight I could not get it up into the truck frame. I ended up bending it back out of square (about 1/4" on each side). After I re-bent the brackets slightly it fit great. When you torque down the blots the brackets come back to square and everything was perfect. My only minor criticism is with the instructions tell you to cut out a portion of the lower plastic deflector on your truck. The instructions tell you to cut a piece that is 4/25" wide. It doesn't need to be that wide for this truck - it could have been the same width as the 2" receiver. It's not a huge deal, but if you want a really tight fit on your deflector, then just cut it smaller. The whole process, including the extra unnecessary bracket bending, took me about 2 hours to complete on my own. I used jack stands to support the bracket during the install, but an extra pair of hands would have made the process much quicker.
This hitch is definitely heavy duty and mounts securely. It does not block airflow to the radiators or interfere with the bumper proximity sensors. It deserves 5 stars from that perspective. But I give it 4 stars because unfortunately the distance between the side plates was 3/4" too narrow to rotate into place. It would not clear the frame rails, brackets, and spacers. Actually it wouldn't even clear the frame rails alone. My son and I read the instructions many times and experimented with every possible angle (which is a major hassle while supporting the hitch under the truck) and finally took the matter into our own hands. We used a high lift jack situated between the side plates to bend them outward. Then the hitch fit perfectly. Getting the bumper lined back up was another headache, but not because of the hitch.

Fits perfect and works just as I needed it to. I use it for my SnowSport plow set-up on a 2022 Gladiator Sport Max Tow. I’ve been using front receivers for this same plow for the last 24 years. It’s been used on 5 different trucks and this front receiver mount plow is the BEST. *** When installing on a Gladiator(possibly the Wrangler as well), the front plastic trim below the bumper needs to be cut for receiver clearance. I wanted a tight and “factory looking” install, so I took my time with a vibrating cutter and very sharp utility knife. After trying to put it back in place, the hole is not just square, it’s shaped more like. “T”. I suggest you make small adjustments/cuts as you go forward. It may take several times fitting and cutting to get it right and tight, but in the end it does look like it came that way from JEEP. On the Max Tow package, there is also a metal skid plate that does not get reinstalled. Unfortunately that piece is where the back of the plastic fascia mounts. I ended up securing it with some long heavy-duty zip-ties and it’s worked well for a year now. Just an FYI for those installing the same receiver on their same vehicle.
Product shipped and received on time. I'm very happy with the packaging. Hardware was included with instructions to install the hitches I purchased.

Very easy to install. works great for bike rack and generator box.
After struggling with the answering menu, Steve Z. was instrumental in locating a hitch to fit my van which was not specifically identified in any data search. Weird year, 2005, of popular Chevy Express van, my luck! Using manufacturers dimensions I purchased #31016 on 12/21 and it arrived on 12/24. It's a very well built, USA built, unit. It arrived rapidly, but was missing half of the mounting hardware. The remainder of the hardware was rolling around in the box. Zip lock baggie ripped apart spilling them. I used a hydraulic jack to elevate hitch into place, and an additional jack to push the drill up to drill the 6 mounting holes necessary. No factory hole alignment. All the nuts for the bolts were lost in transit, but by a Christmas day miracle, I found 2 metric nuts to fit supplied bolts that survived the delivery. I will acquire, and install remaining missing 4 tomorrow. The installation went smooth and easy using this technique. It took around 3 hours with much of the time searching for hardware.' Thanks Steve Z. and etrailer. .

Delivery was super fast, instructions and instructional video was excellent. Installed my new part in less than 40 minutes
Install went perfectly. It all bolted up just how the instructions said it would. The hardest part was navigating your tools in the tight spaces. Having the deep sockets as suggested is definitely worth it. I was also able to utilize a cordless impact wrench and it helped a ton. This will work great for our bike rack.

For my 2005 Ram 2500 4WD. This product is well made and I am looking forward to using it for a winch that can go on the front or rear of my truck and may get carrying racks, etc. I believe the product I received was damaged in shipping. The span between the flanges that bolt to the sides of the truck frame was about an inch narrower than the distance to the outsides of the truck frame where the hitch fastens to the vehicle. One of the flanges was badly out of square. I widened the gap by placing the flange in a vise and pulling on the end of the hitch till it was closer to square. Then I used a large crescent wrench to tweak both sides till the dang thing would go on. Then I still had to use a pretty big hammer to wack it into place. Also, this installation was very difficult for me to do alone on the ground. A buddy and a lift would have made this much easier. The included fish wires were super effective and high quality; once the bolts are in place just thread the wire through the mounting holes in the hitch as you lift it into place. Went much easier than I expected. Instructions say use a hole saw, I used a step drill bit and that worked well, except for the small burns I got from hot chips raining down
My particular model of vehicle (03 Dodge 2500 pickup) was a very easy install. I am very happy with the Curt Front Hitch. Now I can easily mount my winch, bicycle rack and a cargo hitch to the front of my truck.

Shipping was fast and packaged good with no scratches. I modified my 2010 Tundra skid pan for oil filter changes before mounting. Replaced all 4 OEM tow ring bolts using anti-seize with new longer M12-1.25 X 40MM class 10.9 zinc finished hex cap screws along with new M12 X 24MM OD HARD WASHERS and torqued all 4 to 79 ft/lbs. Mounted new Thule EasyFold XT 2 Hitch Bike Rack and it fits in front without using the hitch extension. All went together as planned and can now take E-Bikes with us while pulling our camper. We are happy campers!
Fit perfectly with tow hooks on my 2016 Tundra. Had my mechanic install it and cut the hole in the skid plate. The receiver is shown with the Kuat Hi/Lo hitch extender and a bike rack.

This hitch is high quality and fit perfectly. Install was relatively easy. I needed this hitch because I tow a travel trailer and need to carry my bike rack and bikes as well. I can move the bike rack to my rear factory hitch when I'm not towing, very simple. The pictures show my truck / RV with my bike rack installed in the front hitch.
This is the third Curt front receiver hitch I have used on vehicles. The hitch was good quality with clear instructions included. It definitely helped during installation that I had a friend and shop to do the install as the ends had to be spread a hair to slide around the frame rails. We had the hitch installed in about 20 minutes. The reason for the average rating is that this is supposed to fit the 2010 Ford F150 Raptor. Although it does fit, you cannot reinstall the skid plate without sever modifications and then, the skid plate would just be for looks. The end of the hitch also sits behind the bumper requiring me to purchase a hitch extension in order for me to install my receiver mounted winch. I bought the RM-071-1075 from etrailer in order to mount the winch. Recently I had to use the winch and had no issues with this set up doing a straight pull. When we tried to pull at a slight angle, I was afraid of exceeding the capacity of the hitch due to the extra leverage caused by the extension (big heavy Raptor on 37's buried in mud and snow). Overall I would have given the receiver hitch 5 stars if the description mentioned that there would be issues installing on a Raptor. I probably would have done a traditional bumper mounted winch but I like being able to move the winch front to back (which is how I ended getting out of the situation).

This took a lot longer than I thought it would (about 3 hrs), mainly for figuring out how to get the right tool into the right place, but it turned out really good and will be great to put a bike rack on the front while towing our trailer in the rear. I was also able to re-install the tow hooks as well as part of the installation. You will definitely have to reach way back up in there to install and get ahold of a hitch pin any time you use it, but it looks really clean and you can't really even tell it is there when the license plate is on (you have to remove license plate any time you want to use it). I highly recommend using a floor jack to prop the hitch up into place so you can maneuver it around the air dam a bit more easily and line it up with the holes. The instructions could have used some better pictures of actually how to get it up into place. I had to get it in by just barely fitting it in front of the air dam and then jacking it up and around it. End product though looks really good.
Pretty easy install on a 2022 Ram 1500. You do have to relocate the front tag, but if you have the skill to install the hitch, moving the tag should be no big deal.

I finished installing my new front hitch a few weekends ago. All in all I'm very satisfied with the new hitch, primarily as it solved a long standing problem and the right price. The construction and fit of the hitch is excellent. It does take a bit more than an amateur to install however, so below are my comments with photos attached to help the next guy: 1.) Front bolt - The existing hole on the frame it too small to accept the new bolt. This needs to be drilled out (only with a 90 deg. Drill), or replace the existing bolts in the opposite direction...which is what I did, (photo 3). 2.) Middle bolt - The existing frame hole does not align with the hole on the hitch. You need to dry fit it and mark it and cut an approx. 1/2 - 5/8" chip out of the frame. 3.) Rear bolt - Rear bolt ends up with about a 1/4" gap between the frame and hitch. I shimmed the gap and torqued it snug. There's also no way to install the internal washer, without losing your sanity. I eliminated it and used a vise grip on the bolt end as I tighten the nut. Additionally, you have to remove the bumper kicker brace to install this rear bolt. Once the hitch is up, there is again no way to reinstall that kicker brace without disassembling the whole assembly at the bumper. My problem with that was that my existing bolt were old and rusty and probably won't come off or go back on easily. Instead, I fabricated an extension bracket and reassemble that kicker brace just above the new bolt (photo 2). - Photo 1: Before install, after removing lower spoiler - Photo 4: After install, before cutting and reinstalling lower spoiler
2001 2500 sport fit on the frame was perfect with no drilling. Had to notch the cover and metal support at the bottom but would rather that than hang to low.

If I could mark it at 4.5 stars I would. I like it the hitch. I think it hangs down too low, only 8" off the pavement. I did not like to have to take off the tow hooks to install the hitch. I did like the idea of I sold the tow hooks for almost as much as I paid for the hitch. I had to buy a hitch extender. ( I do not see the extender I bought on etrailer listed any more.) The extender put the hitch out far enough to clear the grill guard that I had installed. My goal was to have a place to mount my 8,000 pound winch. I can now slide the winch in the front receiver or the back factory receiver. I can now pull the truck out from either front or back.
This front mount hitch was just what we needed to haul our bikes when camping with the slide in camper. We had to take the bikes and a bike hitch off each time we had to get in the camper when we stopped. This front mount hitch saved us from having to do that. Also use it for a carrier to carry extra luggage. It came fast and it was very easy to install, just as advertised.

This hitch came quickly and I believe was priced fairly for what you get. Unfortunately, as some other have posted, this hitch is intended for my vehicle (1996 Ford E350 RV) but did not fit correctly. I had a problem with the front holes not being spaced far enough apart for the bolts to fit. The rearmost bolts go into a oversized and slotted hole in the underside of the frame so there was no problem with those, but the front holes in the frame have to be drilled out to 17/32" for the supplied 1/2" bolts per the included directions, and I couldn't get the bolts in both sides. The bolt holes in the hitch needed to be approximately 1/4" further apart. Also, there is a relief cut out of the hitch that I assume is to miss a bump on the under side of the frame. This cut out is in the wrong location to miss the bump in the frame. I went ahead and torched the slot for the bolt a little longer on one side and made the cut out for the frame bump bigger on both sides. A little grinding, a little touch-up paint, and back on she went. Had to notch the lower plastic valance just a little bit to clear the receiver, which was expected. Actually had to cut it a lot less than I thought I would. The two safety chain loops sit right under the valance, but I don't for see the need to hook anything to those, so I opted to not hack up the valance at this time. I intend to put a bike rack on the front, and also use the hitch to get drug onto the beach at Pismo from time to time. Hopefully the cuts I made don't weaken the hitch for that purpose. The directions call for this to be a 20 minute install. Granted, I took off the bumper, but even if I hadn't, and the hitch was fitted correctly, I find it hard to believe anybody could get this done in anywhere near that time. As another reviewer said, now that it's on, I'm a happy camper, but it was a little bit of a job to get there.
The hitch is good quality but the hole pattern did not match my 2011 E150 Ford Van. The rear bolts fall in the access hole. I have to drill 3/4 holes in the frame instead of 17/32". I have to remove the whole front bumper because the accesshole is to small for the 1/2 carriage bolt.

This receiver performs well for both bicycle and motorcycle carriers. It is not obtrusive when not being used. It was easy to install with no drilling required (You do have to cut out the air dam.). I would have given 5 stars if would’ve fit a little higher. There was room for it to be at least an inch further off the ground. I ended up putting a 1 inch leveling kit on the front of my 2 wheel drive F150 and it turned out great and the truck looks better too
I am very pleased with this equipment. Bought it to carry two heavy E-bikes. Installation directions could have been clearer--but with the help of videos, I got it in just fine. Had to use a large crow bar to urge it in place though.

Do not follow the instructions for cutting the air dam. I cut mine 3" wide and 3 1/2 " tall. It was still a little wide. It goes without saying "you can always enlarge it but can't make the hole smaller." The poor instructions kept me from giving it 5 stars. I was able to put black silicon around the cut. Other than that it went on fine and seems to be sturdy. I chose the curt because it was lower and a bicycle rack would not stick up as high,
Delivery was quick, a really easy installation I did myself. Perfect for carry rack, spare tire, winch and moving my trailer!

I bought this after years of struggling to get a race trailer in the backyard. When I decided to move it about 12 feet to the right, I knew there was no way my F350 4X4 crew-cab could make the tight turns that would be required. After being able to position it on the first try, I realized I should have bought it 20 years ago. The installation took two tries. Not sure if it because I’m 66 or trying to do it by myself. The key for me was to hook a couple of straps to it, unbolt it, and then put the bumper on the engine compartment. The first attempt was by trying to do everything from the backside. Once I removed the bumper completely, I was able to do everything from the from, so I was not completely blind in installing the two side bolts. The straps not only made it easier to reinstall it, they were useful in pulling up on side to level it. I will be buying my son one for his 2016 F150 4X4
Package shipped and arrived quickly. Install was relatively easy, but took longer as the bolts were actually larger (7/8") - and I did not have a shallow socket for it that was also 1/2" drive for my torque wrench. I also needed remove the grill cover to have enough throw to tighten back on the bumper after the hitch was bolted on (which blocked access from the bottom). I would recommend getting some 9/16" shank carriage bolts to help align and secure the front flange while tightening the sides to the frame. I used a floor jack on level pavement to raise the hitch into position. Overall - it looks great and functions well. Very stout and strongly built with superb welds and finish. This will make getting smaller trailers into tight spaces MUCH more easier and less of a headache/embarrassment. Plus it's also another point for recovery as an option for 4x4 or overlanding, and I also added a step to the front of it which makes accessing the back of the engine bay easier.

I have had the front receiver hitch installed on my 1996 Suburban for about a year now. I have a 12000 lb winch installed using that receiver hitch. I have gotten stuck twice and had to use the winch to extract the truck. Very glad that I have the front receiver hitch as it made putting on the winch very easy. Also useful for mounting a receiver mount bicycle rack to the front as well.
Product was shipped promptly and arrived a few days later. Packing was good for a heavy item with pointy edges, no issues breaking out of the box. Installation on a lift took about 30 minutes on my 1999 K2500 Suburban. The bolts were long enough to allow for my tow hooks that were already in place. A bolt stringer to pull the rear bolts from the top (inside the frame) is provided along with nuts, the other four just replaced the stock bolts that I had that mount from the bottom into tapped frame metal through the tow hooks. Curt makes great quality stuff. Clearance was reduced a little but I'm not concerned about it.
