Colin: Hey guys, Colin here at etrailer. Today, we have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we're going to do a test fit of the Saris SuperClamp EX two bike platform rack and cargo carrier. Now, this is a pretty unique setup. We're going to have a two bike platform rack on the back of our rack. While on the front, we have a cargo carrier, and that's going to be able to haul any excess equipment on the outside of our vehicle, if you've got bike equipment you don't want on the inside, muddy equipment from the end of the day or even coolers, stuff like that.Now, as far as the cargo carrier, if we look at inside dimensions on it, we're going to have 42 and a quarter inches on the inside rails. There's a slight rise right there, so you will have to make sure that it gets on lower on the inside of those rails when you're stacking cargo.

It's gonna allow you to transport up to two bikes to your destination.It's gonna securely hold your bikes with no frame contact. You can see, it doesn't grip the frame at all, so you don't have to worry about any type of scratches or abrasions. Its two points of contact are gonna be up here on this wheel hook, putting downward force on top of our front wheel, forcing it down into the cradle.Then, on the back we're gonna have this strap that's pulling down on the back wheel, forcing it down onto this platform. One feature I want to point out next is just like a lot of other platform racks.

Today we have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Kuat NV 2.0 4-Bike Platform Rack. Which is part number NV22B-NA22B.It's a very high quality endurable bike rack, it's gonna hold your bikes very well, and it's gonna hold up to the elements as well. The black power coat finish is gonna hold up the rust and corrosion, along with the aluminum construction. It can carry up to four bikes, each weighing up to 60 lbs, so it's gonna be able to accommodate even if you have an electric bike, or even a fat tire bike.It holds your bike in two different spots. We have a strap on the back wheel right here, you can see the wheel, it's just sitting on the platform, and the strap secures it. On the front, we have the front wheel sitting inside the wheel tray right here, and the hook putting downward forward on top of the wheel, forcing it down into the tray.Another great feature, is that we can tilt this away from the vehicle, to give us access to the trunk.

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee HR200Z-FB

Today in our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider platform style two bike rack for fat bikes. That's part number HR200Z-FB.I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's gonna hold our bikes. Now, not only does it carry fat bikes, but it's gonna carry your standard bikes, too. So, in this kit, you're gonna get a total of eight cradles. You're gonna get four standard wheel cradles, which will hold tires up to three inches wide. And you're gonna get four fat tire cradles which will hold fat tires up to five inches wide.

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee HR200Z

Today on our 2014 Jeep Gand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider platform style two bike rack. That's part number HR200Z. I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it secures our bikes. It actually secures our bikes by their frame. We've got a rubberized frame hook that goes over that top tube, puts down pressure into those cradles, and then a hook and loop strap keeps our wheels in place. Now, this bike rack doesn't tilt away like most platform style racks, so if you wanted to get into that rear hatch, you'll want to be sure that you arrange your pedals just the right way so we can do that.

That's part number TH561020.I've already got it in place on my roof rack system to give you an idea of what it looks like and how it holds our bikes. It's gonna work with your round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory roof rack systems. As you can see here, on aero, elliptical, and some factor roof rack systems, you'll need to use the T-slot method to mount your bike rack. For square and round bars, the clamps are included.It's a fork mount bike rack. It's gonna work with your standard 9mm quick release axles, but it'll also work with thru axles, 15mm, and 20mm.

How the bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have two points of contact with no frame contact at all.Instead, we'll have a wheel hook up at the front, and this does have an integrated cable lock on it which can wrap around the frame of your bike and prevent theft.And at the rear, we have this wheel strap, which is adjustable, the length of this portion here, to accommodate bikes of different sizes. Like with many platform-style bike racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached by coming up to the center here and pulling up and letting it tilt towards you.Now, with two bikes on here, it can be a little bit trying to get to that point, so you may need an extra set of hands to help you do this. With that tilted away, now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need, and we do have plenty of space in between the vehicle itself and the bike rack to do so.

You'll see there's plenty of room to stand in between our bike rack and our vehicle as well.
