The reason why there is a slight slope on the rack is because it helps a bit with ground clearance with the weight of the bikes on the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G. With the angle, it helps prevent drag in the back. I went ahead and attached some photos that show the angle. view full answer...
The link you provided only redirects but it looks like you have the 225/60-17 tires on your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. All of the available chains have a max speed of 30 mph which is the standard.
I recommend getting square link chains so either the Konig # TH01221104 with assisted tensioning or if you're willing to spend a bit more the # TH2004205104 which is self-tensioning. According to what I saw in the owner's manual the chains should only be installed on the front. I recommend double... view full answer...
If you intend to use the # ETBC7L kit with the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180, you do not need to connect the yellow wire at all. All you will need to do is run the single black wire that comes with the kit from the black wire on the back of the 7-way up to the vehicle's battery with a circuit breaker in between and then ground the white wire from the back of the 7-way to a bare metal surface anywhere on the frame. The remaining blue and yellow wires can just be taped up and... view full answer...
Yes, the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension Systems like part # TSR2000S03 require a crossmember installed between driver and passenger side. The crossmembers is needed to add additional support. It will be welded to the back of the flange which you can see in the attached photo. view full answer...
To install the etrailer hitch part # e98912 that you referenced there isn't any drilling required but you will need to use a file or rotary tool to slightly enlarge holes on the vehicle frame.
I attached an install video for this hitch that shows the entire process for you to check out as well. view full answer...
The answer to this question really depends on the frame of your 2021 Subaru Crosstrek; in some cases the factory hasn't created big enough holes to run the installation hardware through, so the existing holes need to be enlarged to get the hitch mounting hardware on. If you check out the installation video of the etrailer # e98912 hitch that you were looking at, it shows the whole process. This isn't going to be the same on each vehicle, but it is not uncommon that it's going to require... view full answer...
We have quite a few installation videos for your 2021 Subaru Crosstrek but sadly none for the Stealth Hitches item # 391SUCT18T. I have a better recommendation for a hitch for your Crosstrek. This one has an installation video, will offer you the same abilities, and will save you some money.
I recommend the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7365. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Crosstrek with included hardware. This hitch has a 2" x 2" receiver which is perfect... view full answer...
I've attached some photos so you can see how the # e98912 is going to look like after you install it on your 2020 Subaru Crosstrek Limited. These photos were submitted by another Crosstrek Limited owner who confirms it's a perfect fit and as you can see, the only visible portion is the receiver. The cross tube will be pretty much hidden behind the rear bumper for a nice, OEM look.
I've attached an installation video we did on a 2019 Crosstrek - the steps and finished look will be the same... view full answer...
I spoke with Malone about which Bearing Buddies you should use on the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with V-Style Carriers for 2 Kayaks # MAL43FR and they said that they do not recommend using Bearing Buddies on any of their trailer, however if you'd still like to install them you can use:
-Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 1980A w/ Auto Check # BB1980A. These are chrome plated, however if you wanted to go with stainless steel, you can use the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model... view full answer...
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98912 comes with all the hardware you need to install it.
I have linked the install instructions and a video guide to help you during the install process. view full answer...
The mounting brackets of the Thule Hull-A-Port part # TH834 are compatible with round crossbars like what Yakima offers.
Since round bars don't have edges (obviously) the clamps of this rack would need to be tightened pretty good so that the rack would not rotate on the bar. This would only happen if there wasn't a kayak loaded though. view full answer...
I do believe you're asking how to determine whether or not your RV has a combined or separate lighting system. If the motorhome’s trailer plug energizes the same pins on the 4 way connector for both brake lights and turn signals, then a 3-to-2 converter is already installed and the motorhome should be treated as combined lighting when installing the Roadmaster # RM-154. view full answer...
Installing a wiring harness, like the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467, on your 2020 Subaru Crosstrek will require access/removal of a few panels in the rear cargo area. I included an install video for you to check out that will definitely help, but the plug you are looking for is on the driver side and can be kind of tucked into the body a little bit, making it hard to find. I included an image of where this will be as well. view full answer...
I do not have a photo of a Specialized Turbo Como 3.0 step through e-bike on the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Fat Bikes # SA4412B-FB. But I have included a video that demonstrates how to operate the bike rack.
In the video, you can see that the clamp is actually being attached to the lower tube of the bike, which is ideal for a step thru bike because it will not have that top bar for attachment. I have also included a photo of the rack with a white bike, the white bike allows you to see... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Connector # C57672 should be grounded to any paint and debris free surface, preferably the vehicle frame; since the hitch is painted, it's not going to provide the best ground source for your 7 way connection. You can extend the ground and run it to a more convenient spot on the vehicle and you'll want to use a ring terminal like # 44-5356A (similar to the one found on the end of the ground wire of the C57672). If you need additional wiring, you can use # 10-1-1 which is... view full answer...
Congrats on the purchase of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13382 for your 2020 Subaru Crosstrek!
The Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH83JV for 2 bikes or the # TH69TX for 4 bikes actually comes with the AutoAttach system which is an integrated Auto Pin that snaps in place and makes it easier to install the bike rack. You then secure it in your hitch receiver with the anti-rattle device (by turning the knob at the front of the bike rack). I have attached some pictures to assist.
If you were talking... view full answer...
I have good news!
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76209 that you referenced is going to be a complete bolt-on installation and it doesn't require any kind of cutting or trimming with regards to the bumper fascia. The only step outside of actually lining up the hitch to the frame and tightening the hardware is that you will need to temporarily lower the exhaust so the hitch can get into place.
I have attached an installation video that you can also use for reference.... view full answer...
It is not. When installed, the Curt # C13382 would be mostly concealed behind the bumper fascia, with only the receiver opening and safety chain loops being visible. The Draw-Tite # 76209 will be fully exposed, with the hitch crossbar being fully visible under the rear bumper. I've provided a side-by-side photo showing the installed appearance of the two.
If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness, part # 118467, a ball mount like # C45010 with pin and... view full answer...
To get the Curt # C13382 installed on your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, the important part is the 3/4" socket. With the nuts needing to be torqued to 110 foot pounds, I will recommend going with a 1/2 or 3/4 drive, however. view full answer...
If you check out the install video I attached for the Curt hitch part # C13382 around the 6 minute mark you can see that when we installed this hitch we didn't do anything special with that sealant you mentioned. I would just ignore it and go about the install. view full answer...
