When we installed the Draw Tite hitch part # 76020 on a 2016 Mazda CX-9 we found that there was a distance of 6 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear bumper.
We used to carry the Yakima SwingDaddy that you mentioned and it had a distance of 6 inches from it's pin hole to the back of the knob for the swing mechanism. So you'd most likely have some contact there.

To use the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 your vehicle only needs 12 volt, ground, and turn signals connected to its 7-way socket. What this means is you do not need the brake signal from the 7-way.
For example, if you used a 4-to-7 way adapter such as # 30717, there will not be an output wire from the Echo to connect to, so you could simply tie that wire off, as you can see by the accompanying diagram.
Apart from that the only other thing required is that your... view full answer...
Hello Greg,
I believe by "paddle style" you were referring to the saddle-style kayak carriers, which are flat like you described. While Thule no longer has felt carriers, there is a manufacturer that does, which is Rhino Rack. So you can still use the style you want, you'd just need the Rhino-Rack Nautic Kayak Carrier # RR571. view full answer...

I recommend you start with the Deka 2/0 Gauge Overmolded Battery Cable Harness Assembly - Black - 7" Long # DW04363 and Red # DW04362 to connect your batteries. When wiring them as you have indicated in parallel, you will be able to easily charge the batteries simultaneously through the Buss Bar when using a charger like the CTEK MULTI US 7002 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger w/ Pulse Maintenance # CTEK56353.

All of the Thule roof cargo boxes will fit the factory roof rack on your 2017 Mazda CX-9. If you are concerned about rear hatch clearance then there is a measurement you can take on the vehicle to determine which boxes will fit without hatch interference.
First, if the crossbars on your roof rack can be moved, slide the front bar as far forward as it will go. Then with the rear hatch open measure from the center of the front bar straight back to the nearest part of the open hatch. If you... view full answer...

If you were to run the power wire of the Curt Vehicle Wiring # 56016 to anywhere but the positive post of your vehicle battery you would void the warranty of the harness and could potentially damage the wiring of your CX-9 in the event of a short on the trailer wiring.
The purpose of the battery wire being run to the battery is so that it bypasses the delicate vehicle wiring and eliminates the potential threat of the trailer wiring damaging the vehicle's wiring. It draws all of the power... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at SportRack and she stated that the SkyLine XL cargo box SR7095, will not fit a spread of 44 inches on your 2007 Mazda CX-9. However, there are other boxes that are listed as a fit to the factory crossbars on your CX-9.
I recommend the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14, # Y07192. Yakima lists this box as a direct fit to your vehicle. It is closest in cost and size as the Explorer box. I have included a link to the installation details for you. view full answer...

Hey Marco, it sounds like you have the older Thule roof rack on your 2023 Mazda CX-9 which isn't made or supported anymore. I know that's a bummer but basically they totally redid everything about their roof racks and stopped selling the older parts. Only solution would be a new roof rack like the part # TH49SG that fits your 2023 Mazda CX-9 that has flush rails. If you have the old fit kit you could maybe sell it as a complete roof rack for the vehicle you used to use it with to offset cost? view full answer...
Hey Judah! The Yakima SkyBox NX XXL # Y43QD and Thule Motion 3 # TH87PN or # TH59PN will fit your 2023 Mazda CX-9 Carbon Edition crossbars. However, you will need to make sure you have the correct crossbar spread (I'm sure you do but it is best to measure).
The Yakima # Y43QD requires a 24" - 42" crossbar spread. Both of the Thule models require a 21-13/16" - 36-9/16" crossbar spread. If I were to choose one It would be the SkyBox NX XXL. I had a chance to use this on a trip to Myrtle... view full answer...

Hi Jim; I'm not sure which video you watched originally but the one I linked below shows exactly how to pull back the rear trim panel and access the plug for the # C56338 you purchased. This is the bulk of the installation and the most important part. It is also the only video we have for wiring installation on the 2020 Mazda CX-9. view full answer...
Hello Pete, thanks for reaching out. I do suggest you check your ground just to make sure, but it does sound to me like your module has gone bad and needs to be replaced. You can test the module by using a wire tester to test the input and output wires on the module. If the input signal is all good, but there is no output signal, you can be sure the converter module is bad. While the modules going bad is rare, it is not entirely unheard of. To replace it, use the Cut # 56016.

That is an excellent idea and exactly what I've done with my vehicles as well so I definitely get where you're coming from.
I recommend the following parts for your 2015 Mazda CX-9:
- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98AR
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56016
- Mounting Brackets # 18144 and # C83DR

No, it doesn't but I have a less expensive one that does. For your 2023 Mazda CX-9 you will want the Draw-Tite Hitch item # 76020. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Mazda with included hardware.
I really like this hitch because it mounts behind the rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" receiver visible. It also has a built in tab that makes it easy to connect a wiring harness using the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat item # 18144.
