Today we're taking a look at the upgraded circuit protected modulite with the four pull flat trailer connector. The resettable short circuit and overload protection safeguards itself and the tow vehicle against harmful electrical shorts and miss-wire situation. So it's designed to automatically reset. It virtually eliminates draw on the vehicle's taillight circuit. So the taillight circuit has been upgraded to work with vehicles using pulse with modulation. That's going to allow the converter to fully turn on giving the trailer lights full brightness during activation.It powers the trailer's stop, turn, tail, and running lights directly from the tow vehicle's battery.
So this unit is also designed to really help prevent feedback from the trailer to the vehicle system. It can be used on a two and three wire system. When used on a two wire system just keep in mind that the brake wire on the harness must be grounded and it adapts a three wire system on the towing vehicle to work with a two wire system on the trailer.It will work on vehicles and trailers with either LED, incandescent, or standard bulb tail lights and it works with most multiplex wiring systems.So to finish up what I want to do is just go over everything that's included with this kit. You get the actual modulite wiring harness. This is part number 119179.
That's this right here. You get the modulite install kit, part number 118151. That's going to consist of some of the install items that you see right here at the front of the table. So you get the 20 foot of 12 gauge wire. That's your power wire, which connects to the power wire coming out of the converter box.
It gets connected with one of the included butt connectors, runs up to the vehicle battery, gets another butt connector attached to it, connects to one half of the fuse holder. The other half of the fuse holder gets a ring terminal attached to it and it gets connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery.So it comes with the 20 foot of 12 gauge wire, comes with your ring terminals, comes with the inline fuse holder for the battery connection, and it also includes the appropriate fuse. You also get the circuit tester, which is right here. This is to help find the wires behind the vehicle tail lights to gather the signals. It comes with some cable ties so that we can secure any excess or slack in your wiring.
Comes with a grounding screw, comes with five quick splice wiring connectors, which makes tapping into wires quick and easy. It comes with double sided adhesive foam tape so that we can peel that off, stick it to the back of the box, mount that to a safe, secure location. And then right here on the four way we have an integrated four pull cover. This covers up those connection points, keeps the connector protected from the elements and reduces dirt, debris and corrosion getting in there for trouble-free use.That's going to do it for today's look at the upgraded circuit protected modulite, the four pole flat trailer connector.
