Question:
2007 Sports Trac. I have chased the wiring from the rear of truck to the middle under passenger side connection. I am only getting a signal for the running lights and brake controller does work. No brakes or turn single lights. I am thinking its upstream. I have checked all fuses. I did find one under the hood #13 Trailer tow battery charge blown. Switched it with another with no results with lights. I just cant locate the issue. Could I just bypass and use a connector with the lights on the rear of the truck that do work? or would you have a clue where to look next?

If the fuses are all functioning correctly and you have traced the wiring on your 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac without finding the problem then I agree with you that the best option is to just bypass all of the OEM wiring with aftermarket wiring.
For your application I recommend using the Tekonsha # 119179KIT which you will splice in behind your tail lights and then route the black wire up to your battery. This kit is designed to keep the tail light wiring from being affected by any malfunctions from the trailer side of things.
Then to have a fully functioning 7-Way you need to install the Kit # ETBC7. I have attached the installation instructions for this but you just need to modify them to fit your application.
Aside from this the only other thing to do is take your vehicle in to a shop and have them fix it for you.
