Today on our 2005 GMC Sierra, we'll be looking at and installing our Putco Mini-Halogen Bulbs, 315 Bulb, Night White, Part Number P213157L. This is what our light looks like before we put our halogen bulbs in. You notice it's yellow. When we put the halogens in, it'll be a cleaner white look. All right. This our new light.
This is the halogen light. You can see it's whiter, it's clearer, and it's brighter, so if you're having a hard time seeing, you can definitely see this is the light that you want to go with to upgrade to a clear light. The first thing to do is we need to take off our headlight assembly, so we've got our 2 levers here. Just pull them away from their clips and lift them straight up and out. That releases the whole assembly here. Now, I can release our clips.
I do want to be gentle with these because these do break. It might help to have something to lightly pry up on them like a flat-head screwdriver or like I'm using just a panel remover tool. Our bottom piece I'm going to push on our release lever here. It should pop out, and it's also hooked back here, so it'll swing out and come free. Now, we're replacing our running light, so I'm going to pull in on this tab, twist, and that releases our bulb. Now, this will pop out.
Then, we can pop our new bulb right in. With the old one out, we can slide our new one in, just clicks into place and reassemble. That'll will click into place. Again, I want to hook this side. It hooks by the radiator and then line up my release tab over here and it clicks into place. Now, I'll grab my headlight, and our harnesses we'll just clip back in, and then our holes, we want to line it up with where our retaining rods came out of.
You may need to wiggle it a little bit just to get everything lined up. It should just drop into place. Once you have both pins in place, I'll push them back into their clips. There we have that whole assembly taken out and put back in, and we replaced our halogen lights. I'll repeat the same process on the other side.
