Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the Putco Red Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at trailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Putco 60 inch long Direct Fit Blade, LED Tailgate Light Bar. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit many different years and models of Chevrolet GMC, Ford, Ram, Nissan and Toyota trucks. And because this part fits so many different models I do recommend to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle, and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now this is a tailgate light bar, which will provide auxiliary tail stop, turn and backup light functions.

Basically this light bar will install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate between the tailgate and the bumper. This does use LEDs, which will produce a nice bright red or white light based on which signals being used. Now at the end of this video, I'm gonna connect this light to some 12 volt power, just to show you how the light bar works and how bright it is. But first I wanna go over some of the features on it. So we're gonna zoom in on the bar itself, and you can see it's a COB LED Technology, which stands for chip onboard technology.

It creates a nice bright solid panel of light. If you notice the LED chips on it are mounted close together for uniform high intensity light, similar to a lighting panel. And it is a sealed lens and housing unit, which is waterproof. Has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. And if you notice it is a nice tinted polycarbonate housing which provides a nice sleek look when it's installed.

Now this is a simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, the connectors you need, and even comes over here with this quick connect custom fit wiring harness, that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections. And then on the other end right here has a four way plug, that the four way of the light bar will plug right into. So there's no cutting or splicing of wires. Application, this is for full size trucks. Again, the length of this is 60 inches long, five eights of an inch wide, three eights of an inch tall.

Now I do wanna mention the backup light output, it's over 3000 lumens and the backup light color is a cool white color. So I'm gonna show you that in the, when I do the. When I hook this up to 12 volt power I will mention that so you can see how bright it is. So right now we got it all hooked up to 12 volt power. So all we're gonna do is go ahead and turn the power on. And there you can see the light bar lights up. Turn off the lights so you can see it better. But the whole light bar is gonna be all red LED lights. So this will give you like when you turn your lights on in your vehicle, the tail lights, or the running lights will be with this, and then hit your brake light. You can see it'll get brighter just like your brakes on your vehicle. And then when you do your turn signal, you'll be able to see if you do your passenger side you can see the row of red lights will light up and flash as your turn signal. And it'll do the same on the driver's side. And you go to turn on your driver's side turn signal same way, rolled red lights will light up and flash. And now I wanna show you, we talked about the backup light. So now when you go into reverse, when you put your vehicle in reverse and your backup lights will be activated just like that, you'll see how bright it is. And it's a nice, cool white color. And as we mentioned it's whole output is over 3000 lumens. So it will make sure when you go in reverse that somebody behind you will be able to know that you're backing up. Turn back on our lights, turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this Putco 60 inch long Direct Fit Blade LED tailgate light bar..
