Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Putco direct fit, dual, 18 inch long Blade LED tailgate light bars. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2009 and newer Jeep Wranglers and the 2020 and newer Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application.

Now, these tailgate light bars will provide a nice, auxiliary stop, tail, turn, and backup light functions. They are designed to install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate, between the tailgate and the bumper. The LEDs on these lights produce a nice, bright red, amber or white light based on which signal is being used. Now, at the end of this video, I am going to connect this light to some 12 volt power just to show you how the light bars work and how they light up, but I first wanna go over some of the features on it. Wanna zoom in on one of the light bars.

You can see they use a COB, which is the chip on board LED technology, which creates a nice, bright, solid panel of light. These LED chips are mounted close together for a uniform, high-intensity light, similar to a lighting panel. And they are a sealed lens and housing unit, which is waterproof. Has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. Also uses a nice, tinted polycarbonate housing, provides a nice, sleek look.

Now, it is a very simple installation. Comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape and the clips to mount these. Does have a nice quick-connect wiring harness here that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections, so there's no cutting or splicing of wires. Quantity, it is for a quantity of two tailgate light bars. We mentioned there are about eight, each one is about 18 inches long, about 5/8 of an inch wide, and about 3/8 of an inch tall.

The backup light output is over 3,000 lumens, and the backup light color is a nice, cool white. So, I have it plugged into some 12 volt power. So, what I'm gonna do is go ahead and show you. Go ahead and turn on our 12 volt power. And with it on, you'll see the taillight function come up. Go ahead and turn off our lights just so you can see a better view. But you can see there's, when you turn on the taillights, they'll be like that. When you hit your brake lights, you'll see how they just get a lot brighter. And again, it's been red LEDs so far. Now, if you go to your turn signal, there would be your passenger side. And you can see those are amber LEDs that are lighting up. And then if you go to the driver's side, same way, the amber LEDs will light up to let you know you're making a turn. And then the last ones would be the reverse function. And when you go into reverse or your backup light, you can see the nice, bright, cool white lights will come on to let people know you're backing up. And as we mentioned, the light output when it's in the backup light is 3,000 lumens. Turn back on our overhead lights. We'll go ahead and turn off our power.
