Video Transcript for ARC H11 LED Anti-Flicker Headlight Bulbs Installation - 2018 Tiffin Allegro Motorhome

Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer. And today I'm going be showing you how to install the ARC single beam LED light bulb with anti-flicker harness, here on our 2018 Tiffin Allegro motorhome. So if you have a motor home where your light bulbs just really aren't, really cutting it, or just are starting to get burned out, or just are completely burned out, this is gonna be the right kit for you. These LED bulbs are gonna use a whole lot less energy and produce a much brighter light. And when it comes to driving one of these big beefy motorhomes around, you really need to be able to see everything around you because you really can't tell just how much space you have between you and any other object out on the road. So as you can see, looking at our two different headlights here, on our right side we still have our incandescent bulb, and on our left, we have our new LED bulb.

You can tell the difference just between these two colors. On the right with our incandescent, it's giving you more of a warm white versus that LED, which is gonna give you that cool white bright bulb. So with both of the bulbs in now, and the power on for our lights, you can see just how bright these are. So if you pull out your incandescent bulb, on the back of it you're gonna see what the item code is for that light bulb. On ours today, it is an H11.

You're gonna wanna make sure that you get the corresponding kit to match your light bulb. Otherwise it's not going to fit into your housing. So our anti-flicker harness is going to, first of all, prevent any hyper flashing. And then it's also going to prevent any "bulb out" errors that your vehicle may display. And this is usually required for CAN bus or PWM equipped vehicles.

So these ARC harnesses are going to come in a variety of different bulb styles, as well as two different lumen ratings. There's a lower lumen rating option and a higher lumen rating option. What you're gonna need to know to choose the correct kit is just exactly what type of bulb style you already have on your vehicle. As far as installation goes, it is a super simple process. You're simply going to have to pop out your old incandescent bulb and pop in the new bulb and hook it up to your existing wiring.

There's gonna be no splicing or anything like that. Just a simple plug and play operation. So you can easily get this done within five minutes. So to begin our installation, we're gonna have to get to the rear of the headlight assembly. To do that on our Allegro here, we can just pop up our hood and then get to the back of both headlight assemblies. So now we're gonna have to remove our headlight. If you don't know which bulb is actually your headlight, you can go flip your headlights on, and then you can determine exactly which spot is your headlight and which one's your high beam. So we already know that this one's gonna be our headlight. I'm gonna go ahead and just twist this and pull the bulb out. Then we can detach our bulb. So what we're have to do is just pull up on these tabs and start working it out. And you wanna be careful if you've had this running for a little bit, it is going to be hot if it's an incandescent bulb. There we go. So our light's gonna come with two parts. It's gonna have our actual light and then a decoder. So we're gonna have to click these two together. Once that is connected, we can go ahead and take that wiring that we had for our light bulb before. And we're gonna plug that right in. From there, all we'll need to do is put in our light bulb. To do that, we wanna make sure that once we have it in and it's rotated, that the lights are facing side to side and not at any other angle. So once we find that hole, pop it in and twist it into the locked position. And right there, I'm gonna have to move it over just a bit. There we go. So now I know that my lights are facing side to side just because my wire are going straight down and all of our extra wiring here in our decoder, I'm just gonna go ahead and start zip tying up to our bracket that we have here. And then just along our wiring to hold everything up in place. And go through with all of our wiring as well, just so I don't have it hanging super loose. So this isn't gonna be a one specific way to do it. Just kind of however you feel is best. So your kit is going to come with two pieces of double sided tape and two tiny little zip ties. I didn't use them just because I prefer to use our larger zip ties that we already have here in the shop, but feel free to use those on your installation if that's what you choose to do. So now that we've got this headlight done, we're gonna repeat this same process over on the other side. So now with both assemblies completed, we can see with the lights actually on that both are properly functioning. So we can go ahead and close up the hood of our motorhome and that will complete our installation of the ARC single beam LED headlights with anti-flicker harness. My name's Kevin.
