Today we're going to take a quick look at the Kuat Dirt Bag Bike Rack. This is going to be, as you can see, a very simple way to mount your bike to pretty much any flat surface. So, if you want to mount this into your truck bed, maybe mount it to a wall to house your bike it's going to be able to do all those things.It does come with a drilling template so you can easily figure out the distance that you need to get that mounted up properly. Some instructions on how to do that. But it does not come with any hardware, so you will have to provide that on your own. Of course, get your own drill and drill bit.As far as the construction of the bike rack itself, it's made of a sturdy steal with a nice rust resistant black powder coat finish.
So we don't have to worry about any rusting. It's completely coated. Looks really nice, it's pretty heavy in the hand so it feels like really good quality.Now, this is going to have a skewer dimension of 12 millimeter by 100 millimeter. For those of you who want to know things in imperial that works out to be about 4" across, at the base it's about 4-5/16ths, or just over 4-1/4". As far as the height it's about 3" tall going from where it's mounted flat up to the top.
The depth is about 2-1/2" going from the base to where it leans out. About 2-1/2" there roughly.Two holes to mount it to. You want to make sure that you get some good hardware to mount this up. Especially if you're going to be mounting this in a vertical position. You'll want to put this into a stud on the wall, don't just rely on drywall to hold this up in place.
Especially when you've got your bike loaded up on it. So you'll want to get some 1/4" or six millimeter bolts or screws with washers and lock washers if you want to really do it right.It's going to work with standard bikes, or disc brake bikes. Pretty much allows you to mount this wherever you need it to be. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty from Kuat.That's going to do it for our look at the Kuat Dirt Bag Bike Rack measuring 100 millimeter for three axles. Perfect fit! I mounted it to a 2" x 6" for transport in my SUV on trips. Unfortunately the handlebars are too high so I will still end up removing both wheels but now it will be stable. etrailer was only place I could find this size at a reasonable price.
Simple design works as it should & after a year it’s still in good condition. Very durable in the elements
I added these to my existing Yakima bar so I didn’t need an adapter for the new road bikes. There great!

Economical solution. Not shiny and smooth but very functional. I hose clamped this to a $50 ratchet load bar in pickup bed and have a pretty bomb proof bike transport device.
This axle holder is extremely well made, forged and welded. I bolted the holder to a sheet of plywood which can be fastened to the floor of my Honda van. My wife’s bike has a quick release holder bolted next to it.
