Hi, I'm with etrailer, and today we're gonna talk about the Kuat Huk mid-size tailgate pad on the back of the 2023 Toyota Tacoma. In order to take a closer look at a lot more of these features, first we wanna remove the bike. First, we're gonna take this strap and the clip and just pull up on the clip and pull the strap through. Now all I have to do is lift up on my bike, take it out. And now we can take a closer look at our pad. If you look here, we have all these hook on points with these straps and then that's just so we can move these straps from one point to another.

And all I have to do to do that is just pull up on that clip, pull my strap through and pull out and now I can kind of move it wherever I like to so I can even move it all the way over here. The same process, just putting it back on is pushing through that clip and clamping down. And that's important to know because if you have a clearance issue, if you look back here we have this wheel well back here that our bikes won't be able to fit on this very edge. So I would probably wanna move my straps over. Along with that, if you look at all the straps we have here, we have five.

So that's just to accommodate up to five bikes. Taking a look at the exterior, you'll notice we have these three pads and this material is also made out of TPU which means it's just gonna be more durable. These pads are about an inch thick so that's just gonna be able to protect your vehicle more. If we take a look at the center of our truck you'll notice we have this flap here, but pull up on that. That's gonna reveal our handle and backup cam.

If you look closer, we have this felt material to also protect just the surface of your vehicle a little bit more. And if you want to open up the hatch then all you gotta do is just roll everything up. So I can use this hook and loop that go through this loop here, cinch it down, and strap it. Now I have access to my handle. Now that we have access to the back of our truck, it's gonna be a lot easier if we need to load up any heavy gear or any equipment that we get from the store instead of having to reach over the side of our bed.

If you take a closer look here as well, we have these rings where you can use as tie down points. That's gonna be great if you want a little bit more security, like if you wanna run a cable through here and lock your bikes in place, we'll be able to use this as a tie-down point. And looking over here as well, you'll see how the pad installs. All you have to do is push through this strap through this hole and cinch it down tight on four points. And if we lift up our tailgate, you can see where that comes through from the other side. Here, here and down. The Huk is gonna be a very unique options for trucks to haul bikes because not only is it affordable, but you can carry up to five bikes and it's very easy to store.
