Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the UWS 36-inch long standard chest toolbox with a nice gloss black diamond tread finish to it. Now this is a standard utility storage chest toolbox. It is a thick one-piece aluminum box which holds your heavy tools in cargo. And if I just pop it open here, it is a aluminum construction, uses fully welded seams, and it's guaranteed not to rust. We mentioned the finish is a nice gloss black diamond tread finish to it.
And this box can be mounted to a truck bed or used in a garage for storage. The weight of the box is about 30 pounds. Now I want to zoom in on the latch here up front. It is a nice stainless steel paddle handle with a lock on the side here for security of your tools. Comes with the two keys.
So when you close your lid, if you take your key and turn it 90 degrees, take your key out, and then the latch won't open. So your lid stay locked. And then when you're ready to get into your tools, just go ahead and put your key in, turn it back to 90 degrees, and that'll unlatch it. And then when you pull up on the handle it'll release the lid, and then the gas cylinders lifts your lid up all the way. It does use a beveled lid.
It is a patented foam-filled lid, provides insulation and protection from the element. Does use a structural foam on the inside to reinforce the shape and strength of the lid. And if we open it, if you look on there, you can see all the way around on the lid. Right here you can see it uses a microseal gasket around the whole lid to help seal out moisture, dust, and dirt. And we mentioned the heavy duty gas cylinder.
There's one on this side and one on the other side there. That'll help, these cylinders will help open it a full 90 degrees. And then the piano hinge that connects it to the box, it runs the full length of the lid to give you extra support on the lid. So you can see when you go to close it, if you just push down on it, and then it'll snap into place. And then again, when you reach over, lift up on the latch, and again, when you start to pull up on it, the cylinders will automatically open it all the way up and hold it open. Interior capacity on this box is about 7.2 cubic feet of usable space. I do wanna give you some overall dimensions of the box itself. So if we do the length, let's zoom back out. Overall length from one end to the other is 36 inches long. The width on the box, right at 19 and a quarter inches wide. And the overall height from the bottom to the very top, about 18 inches tall. Now that those measurements are without the lid closed. If you close the lid, it's gonna add about an extra one inch to all those measurements. But that should do it for the review on this UWS 36-inch long standard chest toolbox with the gloss black diamond tread finish..

Have this fitted in the bed of my Jeep Scrambler. Jut the right width.
I have long desired to purchase this box and I finally pulled the trigger on it. I was not disappointed. It is exactly as advertised.
This tool box has worked fantastic for my needs. I mounted it to the front of the deck on my 24' trailer and after one year it still looks brand new. The lock functions as it should, and everything still stays nice and dry inside. I have eight large ratchet straps, my 10 ton bottle jack, trailer locks, wheel chocks, and extra blocks of wood with plenty of room to spare. Was a great addition to my trailer.
I'm happy with it. I drilled drains in to it, during HEAVY storming it got about 3/8" of water in it. Also had to play with striker and lock adjustments for it to close and lock well.
Box looks great and shipped on time. May want to package a little better to help minimize damage. Nothing wrong with mine but would be easy to damage in shipping.
Works great! One year later and no pro blems.
Appears to be well constructed.
All dimensions are no accurate.
