Specs:
A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.
Surface-mount trailer lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the trailer surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a LED clearance or side marker light with a built in reflux reflected. This small rectangular trailer light functions as both a clearance light and a side marker light when properly mounted. It is an LED light. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. With LEDs you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. This unit contains a red lens with the built in reflux reflector.
It has a black mounting base and it mounts directly on the surface of the trailer, hardware not included. You can gain access to the mount holes by taking the lens off and you can do that by placing a flat blade screwdriver right here and just prying the lens off.Now in order to get it to mount flush on the surface of the trailer you will need a hole cut out for the wiring base to pass through. I took a measurement of that, and that will require a minimum of a 5/8th inch diameter hole for this area here to pass through. It's a two wire design, so you have your white wire which is your ground wire, red wire which is the power lead. It is SAE approved and it is a P2 rated light.Taking a look at the overall dimensions real quick, starting with the overall length, measuring from edge to edge going this direction, I got a measurement of 3 and 7/8ths inches. Edge to edge going this direction I got a measurement of about 1 and 7/8ths to 1 and 15/16ths inches.
The overall depth from the very back of base right here to the front of the light is about 13/16ths of an inch deep. The distance between the mount holes is three inches on center, and this unit contains a total of two diodes. We're gonna go ahead and hook it up to power that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead light so you can see it in a lower light setting. So you can see here it sends out a bright, consistent signal. Again, this light contains a total of two diodes, so the multi diode design really helps optimize the overall light output, and with the light on you can really see the reflector that's built into the lens of the unit. Really nice design. That's gonna do it for today's look at the LED clearance or side marker light with the built in reflux reflector..
