Shuddering brakes, trailer sway, or grinding under load? Worn drums and bearings put safety at risk. An ABS-ready hub built for Dexter's Tow Assist restores smooth braking, steady tracking, and the peace of mind to tow without second-guessing.
You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Dexter's ABS Tow Assist earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. Inside this replacement assembly, a tone ring constantly feeds data to your existing sensor and to the ABS Tow Assist brain, helping prevent wheel lockup and keeping your trailer tracking straight. It helps give you the control and stability you count on under pressure.
Keeping your hubs greased is faster and cleaner with the included E-Z Lube cap. Just pop the plug, attach your grease gun to the zerk, and service the bearings without tearing the hub apart or making a huge mess.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this trailer hub and drum assembly for your Dexter ABS Tow Assist. Now, this iron ABS hub and drum is the direct replacement that includes the integrated toothy edge here, that you see here, also known as the tone ring, that's going to work with your Dexter's ABS Tow Assist System. And this is designed for your 8K ABS axles with a 2.25 inch inner diameter seal. And I've got some other information there for you on your screen. This is going to work with wheel sizes from 16 to 17 and a half inches.
And of course, this is gonna be compatible with your ABS electric brakes. The size of this drum, the diameter is 12 inches and the width is three and three-eighths inches. And you are going to get this one assembly. And then it does include everything that you see here. And let's start with the bearings first.
So you're going to get your outer bearing, and then the inner bearing, as you know, is going to slide right in here. And to give you the information there on those bearings, the outer bearing is gonna be number 02475, and then the inner bearing is gonna be 25580. And you can see those numbers there, on the inner ring there. So this is gonna be the inner bearing, again, 25580. And then you're going to get your grease cap, it's going to be a Drive-in, E-Z Lube grease cap.
The plugs, as you can see here, grease cap plugs. And then the lug nuts that you can see right around here, you're going to get eight of those. And then the nut retainer, and the spindle jam nut right here. And then the races are pre-installed on this, so you're not gonna have to worry about that. So again, everything that you see here, obviously, you will need to provide the grease to pack your bearings.
And this is an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. The wheel stud size is nine-sixteens of an inch. And as I mentioned, this is iron. And if you need help figuring out your bolt pattern, we do have information for you on this product page. If you don't know how to measure your bolt pattern, on this product page, we do walk you through how to measure your bolt pattern. It's a very simple procedure. In case you are wondering, it is stamped on here, no re-bore allowed. So, I just wanted to mention that to you, if that was something that is important to you. But if you have any further questions about this assembly or any of the other parts that we carry here at etrailer.com, don't hesitate to reach back out to us, because ultimately, we do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need.
