Features to know about

Add More Utility for Everyday Hauling: Class III 2" Hitch Receiver

This hitch opens up your options for towing and gear carrying. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening, it’s ready for ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, or small trailers. The Class III rating supports up to 4,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 400 lbs tongue weight, giving you solid capacity for light to moderate towing and accessory use. Whether it’s pulling a small utility trailer or adding extra storage space for a road trip, the strength and versatility make it a go-to upgrade.

Strong and Built to Last: Fully Welded, Powder-Coated Steel

The hitch is fully welded for strength and precision fit. Robotic welding ensures consistent alignment and solid joints where it counts. A gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base coat helps fight off rust and corrosion so it holds up through seasons of road grime and weather exposure. The sturdy construction means you can count on it mile after mile, whether you’re towing or carrying gear on the back.

Simple Bolt-On Install: No Drilling or Welding Needed

This hitch bolts right onto existing holes in the frame—no drilling, cutting, or welding required. All the hardware comes in the box along with clear instructions, so you can get it done in a driveway with regular tools. The bolt-on design keeps things straightforward for DIY installs and gives you a clean fit that lines up with factory mounting points.

Keep a Clean Look Under the Bumper: Concealed Cross Tube Design

The concealed cross tube keeps most of the hitch tucked under the vehicle, leaving only the receiver visible. That means you get the function of a Class III hitch without a bulky appearance hanging low at the back. It keeps a neat, close-to-factory look while still giving you full access to mount accessories when you need them.

This is the second time I have purchased a trailer hitch from this company. I only had to replace this product because I was rear ended a few weeks ago by another driver. The tow bar took all the damage and while it had to be replaced, it protected the back of my jeep from further impact.

The team at etrailer have great customer service and the products are top notch, since they don't sacrifice on quality. They come highly recommended!

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
Arrived very quickly and fit perfectly. Literally had the hitch mounted in 25 min. The installation videos were a great help in preparing for the install, no surprises and didn't have to drop the exhaust to get the hitch mounted. Great communications as well, truly a 5 start company to deal with!!

One of the best purchases ever made. Still very happy with it. No problems, no issues. Itll definitely deal with etrailer for future needs, no brainer with that decision.

Perfect fit! Ordered online, good price, shipped right away, quality product.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
Great products! Easy to follow instruction and installation was pretty straight forward. Took longer than the 40 minutes advertised, but that was mostly due to rust issues on my vehicle. Would most definitely recommend Curt products, and etrailer.com. Fast ship, good prices and stellar customer service.

Thanks for the follow up! The hitch is working out perfectly, no issues whatsoever. Keep up the good work!!

I really enjoy this product, it was very easy to install and works very well for me.
by:
After struggling to install the wrong one that I ordered, this one went on like a dream! etrailer was very understanding about the mixup and credited the one for the other seamlessly. Thank you, etrailer! I have used this hitch several times and it is perfect and easy to use. No problem with loose bolts (as I had been warned by a friend) because of the lock washers that came with the kit. Very clear instructions online, both in writing and video, on how to wire the lights, too.
by:
I installed this hitch about a year ago. Following the available video's made it pretty easy and I'm not really that mechanical. The wiring harness was also pretty straight forward. Overall, it has functioned perfectly. Does what a trailer hitch is supposed to do. The bottom line is this is much cheaper to buy directly and install yourself than to have someone else do it. Would definitely recommend.
by:
I installed it yesterday and it only took me 3 hrs. I know, I know, but I am 76 years old and was working by myself. I had to spread the mounting flanges about 1/4'' to get every thing lined up but it went on easy on looks good. I hope the wiring hookup I ordered from you works as well. 5 stars, thank you, Jim Hanson

A good product and easy to install.
by:
Year into owning. Zero issues with hitch. I've used it for bike rack, uhaul, and kayak trailer. No excessive heavy towing but it hasn't ever given me any reasons for concern.
by:
2006 Hyundai Santa Fe
Easily installed. Took about 1.5 hours, including the T-wiring harness I purchased with it. Best idea is to lower the exhaust pipe by slipping the two rubber brackets off. Also, a second person to support the opposite end of the receiver until you can get the bolts in is a plus, but it can be done solo.

Just beware for 1st-time installers or those that aren't experts with wrenches: There are two additional bolts that need to be removed, in addition to the tow hooks. They are the ones closer to the back bumper and not currently in use.

Can't wait to get a load on it and really put it to use. Will be towing a 17' bow-rider.
by:
I was pretty upset with this product I had to buy a $[XX] Porta poswer to bend the bracket on the right side of the hitch because the 3rd hole closest to the front didn't line up

Thank you for your review! I wanted to share a link to our help article on how to straighten out hitches as the problem of them becoming flexed in transit is a common one that can be remedied, and this article has some tips and tricks on how to do that.

I'm a licensed engineer who got through school working as a licensed mechanic, so I'm usually critical of aftermarket stuff that claims to be "OEM compatible" or "custom fit". I was pleasantly surprised. The hitch fit exactly and installed in less than an hour, could have done it quicker if I had any experience with Hyundai. All parts were high quality and the finished product did in fact look factory installed. I would highly recommend this product.

etrailer.com's shipping and customer service is fantastic! The hitch was shipped the same day I ordered it, and followup email with the customer support staff was both prompt and courteous!

The hitch appears to be well made and very heavy duty.

I tell you what you guys make a very good product and it went on my Hyundai Santa Fe just like you said it would with no problems at all, and I put it on my self and Im 73 years old.

by:
The hitch was as easy to install as you claimed! We had a small window to receive the shipment and install the hitch before driving our son to college. Thanks for helping us get it done in time!
by:
The hitch was a little tricky to install--mostly because my bumper had been slightly bent. I have used it several times though pulling my trailer and will say it does its job well!

  • What Trailer Hitch Fits The 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe?
Hello Victor, thanks for reaching out. We do offer a trailer hitch for the 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe, but the 13473 hitch you mentioned is only for the 2021 - 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, so this will not work for you. The correct hitch for the 2005 Santa Fe is the following: - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13505

  • Best Trailer Hitch for a Bike Rack on a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe
For your 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13505. The reason I recommend this trailer hitch for you is because the receiver tube opening is only recessed 3" behind the rear bumper so there should be absolutely no issue with using a hitch mounted bike rack. This trailer hitch is also a custom fit that does not require any drilling as it installs using pre drilled holes in the frame rail.

  • Does Curt Hitch # C13505 For 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe Allow Rear Spare to be Kept Under Vehicle
Yes, the Curt hitch part # C13505 that you referenced is compatible with your 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and will let you keep the spare mounted under the vehicle. The spare needs to be lowered before installing the hitch but it will easily reinstall afterwards. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Can Motorcycle Carrier be Used on 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe with Curt Hitch
When it comes to using a motorcycle carrier on your 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, you will be limited by the component with the lowest weight capacity. Although the Ultra-Fab carrier, part # UF48-979033, has a capacity of 500 pounds, you will be limited by the 400 pound tongue weight capacity of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13505, or your Santa Fe's tongue weight capacity, which ever is less. The weight of the motorcycle, plus the weight of the carrier, should not exceed your tongue...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2001 to 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
When it comes to trailer hitch fits for the 2001 to 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe the motor size does not matter. Curt trailer hitch # C13505 will fit. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch And Trailer Wiring Harness For 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2004 Santa Fe is the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader, part # 41543. This is a Class lll trailer hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening. The trailer hitches we offer for your Santa Fe do not come with the trailer wiring harness included but we also have what you need for wiring. For trailer wiring I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118473. This simply plugs into the wiring connections located in the trunk behind the tail lights and you...

For your 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Recevier # C13505 is a confirmed fit. It does not include the wiring harness. The correct 4-way wiring harness for your Hyundai is # C55310. This harness does plug into the vehicle's wiring without any splicing. The connectors are behind the trim panels on both sides of the rear cargo area. You should know that using the Curt Class III Hitch # C13505 requires the use of a support strap # 18050 when using the hitch for...

We offer several medium-duty 2-inch Class III trailer hitch receivers for your 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. All can be seen on the link at right, and I suggest the most cost-effective of the three, part # C13505 from Curt. • Trailer Hitch and Equipment Needed to Tow Rental Trailer w/ 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe
According to the 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe owner's manual, the towing capacity of the vehicle can vary from 1200 to 2700 lbs depending on how the vehicle is equipped and if the trailer has brakes. Check your owner's manual for specifics. The Curt # C13505 would work well for towing a rental trailer. In addition to the hitch, you'd need a trailer wiring harness, a ball mount and the correct trailer ball. The trailer rental place should be able to tell you what ball size you need. I'd recommend: Tow...

Curt trailer hitch # C13505 only fits 2001 to 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe models. The 2012 is a different design than the 2006 and thus requires a different hitch. For a Curt hitch that does fit the 2012 models you can use # C13073. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop.
