Question:

Will this fit the 01 to 04 Santa Fe with the 2.4 four cylinder? I’ve tried to install a Hidden Hitch 70620 but the muffler hangers interfere with the bracket despite the muffler being lowered out of the way. I later found a website that was selling the Hidden Hitch 70620 but it noted that it was not compatible with the 2.4 four cylinder engines.

When it comes to trailer hitch fits for the 2001 to 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe the motor size does not matter. Curt trailer hitch # C13505 will fit. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

And for trailer wiring you can use # 118473 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.

Hidden Hitch as a brand is no longer around but I was able to pull up the instructions for hitch 70620 and it does show it is for 6 cylinder models.
