This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver gives you a solid 2" x 2" opening built for typical bike racks, cargo carriers, and small trailers. With a Class III rating, it handles up to 3,500 lbs gross trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight—4,000 lbs GTW and 400 lbs TW when using weight distribution. That’s enough strength for small campers, light boats, or a full bike rack setup. The square-tube design keeps it sturdy and stable for everyday towing or weekend trips.
You don’t need a lift or shop setup to get this hitch on your vehicle. The fully welded receiver bolts directly to the frame—no drilling or welding required. It includes the complete hardware kit and instructions so you can get it mounted with basic tools. Precision, robotic welding makes everything line up cleanly with existing holes, which means less frustration during install and a secure fit once tightened down.
Built from strong, welded steel, this hitch is made to last through years of towing and weather exposure. The gloss black powder coat finish sits over a protective base coat that resists rust and corrosion, keeping it looking good and holding up under heavy use. Whether you’re hauling gear for work or heading out for a trip, the sturdy build means you can trust it every time you hook something up.

Hitch continues to work great, looks great. With 4 kids, the ability to pull a small trailer on trips has made travel far more enjoyable. A great investment that has more than paid off in returns.

The hitch has worked great on our 2009 Taurus SEL, but I had to have an exhaust shop lower the muffler half an inch. In reverse, with trailer in tow or not, there was a vibrating noise under the car. The exhaust system was making contact with the receiver hitch, and vibrating. It was an easy fix, and there was no charge to heat and bend the hanger tang. Very happy with the product!

After a year its still looks just as good as it did when new. No problems At all. I would bye again but I wont have to... its a Curt trailer hitch, unless YOU pull something that is WAY WAY too heavy it will never break.

One year later - all good! I mostly use this hitch receiver to attach a bike rack to the car and mount two bikes on it. I havent used the receiver to really haul anything with wheels on it yet. Although I am a bit cautious about that because of my cars CVT transmission. I do check the tension of the bolts every once in a while, as suggested in the manual. Overall I am really happy with this purchase!
