Extensive Testing
InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the hitch lock in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load (maximum force received without deformity) is met or the lock fails. These locks have a shear strength of 42,000 lbs.
Installation
The short lock included with this set is used as a hitch lock to secure your Blue Ox adjustable ball mount to your hitch. The additional long locks are used to secure your ball mount platform to the ball mount.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at these Infinite Rule Hitch Locks for your Blue Ox Adjustable Ball Mount. Now these heavy duty stainless steel hitch locks are built to keep your Blue Ox Adjustable Ball Mount secure and protected. This is going to specifically work with the ball mounts for your two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver. These are designed with a flush style design so that they're going to replace those standard pins you're gonna get two long locks here to hold the ball platform in place and then one short lock to secure the ball mount shank to your hitch receiver. These are made from rust resistant stainless steel so they're gonna stand up really well against the elements.
As you can see here, we do have a tethered cap here to keep that keyway protected. Let me give you a brief demonstration of how easy these are gonna be to use. You are gonna get three keys. One key will run the show. Everything's keyed alike.
So I insert the key and like I'm loosening a bolt, I'm gonna be turning counterclockwise. That's gonna loosen the head from the lock itself. And as you can see here, we do have an O-ring here that's going to protect those internal components from dirt, debris, moisture, things like that. And then when you're ready to lock this up, you'll just connect the head and the lock and then you'll turn the key clockwise like you're tightening up a bolt until it's nice and tight. And then once it's tight, you just want to line the key up to the nearest set of hash marks around that ring.
And then once you have it lined up to the nearest set of hash marks, then you'll be able to remove the key and then just close that cap back up and you can go on down the road. Now, each of these locks have been third-party tested and they boast an impressive 42,000 pounds of shear strength meaning they're incredibly tough to break. So again, everything is key to like. You're gonna get three keys here. Gonna be very convenient to use these.
They're gonna be very reliable and long lasting to secure your setup. Let me give you some measurements. Beginning with the short pin here, the overall length from end to end. Looks like we're sitting right at five and three quarters inches long. And then that inside pin length or span measuring inside to inside. Looks like we're at three and 1/8 inches. The pin diameter is gonna be 5/8 of an inch. That's gonna be the diameter of all these pins actually, the two long ones and the short one. Taking a look at the long one here, the length overall, six and a quarter inches. Then that span or inside pin length looks like three and 5/8 inches. Now, if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about these set of locks or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
