Note: The power remote capability, heated glass, and turn signal of this mirror will work only if your vehicle already has those functions.
This telescoping towing mirror replaces your OEM side-view mirror and provides the extended view needed for safe towing. Now you can change lanes, merge, and pass other cars with confidence, even with a trailer in tow. The mirror face on the custom mirror can be pulled out to give you an extended field of vision for towing. Simply push the mirror back for regular use. The entire mirror housing also conveniently folds toward your vehicle for easy parking or maneuvering in tight spaces.

Today we're going to take a look at the K Source custom extendable towing mirror. Now if you end up doing a lot of towing with your vehicle and you need a little extra visibility, this is going to give you that by having a direct replacement for your mirror. We're able to extend it out by about three and a half inches to get a better view. And it's also going to have a dual mirror design, so on the front face of it we'll have our regular, just flat glass there, and then we'll have a convex mirror that's going to give us a wider field of view as well. Comes with all the powered functions, the turn signal in the light, heated glass, remote operation so we can change the angle inside our cab. Now, if your vehicle didn't already have those functions, this isn't going to upgrade you.
It's just going to provide those functions that you already had. So that's one thing to keep in mind. This isn't going to give you any new functions from your light, or from our mirror. It does have a just plug and play design, so we just plug this into our housing on our vehicle. We don't have to worry about any cutting or splicing with this. It's going to be a custom fit for the 2000 through 2005 Ford Excursion, the 2001 through 2007 Ford F250, 350, 450, and 550 cab and chassis.
The housing is going to be made of a durable plastic that has that sort of textured look. It's going to match up with our original mirror. We'll have a breakaway design here. This is going to hinge in so we can collapse the mirror down, make it a little bit more compact whenever we're parking in the garage or maybe on a narrow street. And again, you can push that mirror out to give you more field of view behind you if you're towing a long camper or trailer, fifth wheel, or anything like that, and then bring it in closer to your vehicle whenever you don't need it.This is FMVS-approved, and this is going to be the driver's side.
If you need the passenger side, that's also available, sold separately here at etrailer.com. The install's pretty easy. Again, we just match it up to our original footprints, use the hardware there. It does have some replacement nuts and this foam gasket to provide a little road dampening, and overall a watertight seal. And that's going to do it for our look at the K Source custom extendable towing mirror..
