The RetraxONE MX offers excellent security and protection for the items in your truck bed. This tonneau cover can withstand impacts and inclement weather, and it can perform in temperatures between -50 and 200 degrees F. It won't swell in the heat, contract in the cold, or crack in ice storms, unlike some other tonneau covers out there. And you can secure this retractable cover at any point along the rails with an easy-to-use, locking handle, all to ensure that your gear stays safe and protected.
This tonneau cover retracts quickly and easily for complete truck bed access. It does this by gliding along the side rails with sealed ball-bearing rollers, which also prevent the cover from binding or retracting unevenly. The RetraxONE MX has no joints or hinges that can wear out, freeze, or trap dirt. It does not need to be lubricated and it has no springs that can fail. Unlike other truck bed covers on the market, you won't have to struggle with pull straps, hook-and-loop fasteners, or snaps every time you open and close the cover.
At the end of the cover, on the driver's side, there is a pop-up handle that makes it easy to slide the cover up and down the length of your truck bed with just one hand. The handle must be popped up for the tonneau to move, but you can push or pull the cover to guide it along the rails from either side of your truck.
When not in use, the cover rolls up into a space-saving storage canister at the bulkhead of your truck, so you'll never have to remove the tonneau to access your cargo. This canister has a unique spiral track system that keeps the cover from coming into contact with itself while it's retracted. This helps prevent wear and tear on the cover while you're opening and closing it.
With the cover fully retracted, the entire canister assembly only takes up a small portion of your truck bed. And the angled bottom of the canister gives you more space to slide long items or small gear underneath it.
When the RetraxONE MX is closed, potential thieves will find it nearly impossible to access the items in your truck bed. The locking handle is mounted flat and is concealed with a lid, keeping it well hidden from prying eyes. This flat, weather-guarded lid also keeps out dirt and debris to prevent internal corrosion in the keyhole, ensuring that the lock lasts longer and won't seize up.
To unlock the cover, lift the lid on the lock, insert and twist the key, and press the button to release the pop-up handle. Once the handle is up, you can slide the cover back.
You can latch the cover at any position along the rails by pushing the handle back down. This lock-in-place feature enables you to carry long items that overlap your tailgate while still covering cargo, such as a tackle box, that's stored closer to the bulkhead of the truck.
This cover is better at preventing cargo theft than soft covers, which can be cut open with a knife. It also cannot be pried up at the edges like some hard, folding covers. As a result, your cargo and truck bed are secure when this cover is closed and latched, as long as you lock your tailgate as well. Conveniently, the cover operates independent of the tailgate, so you can open and close the tailgate without touching the cover, and you can open and close the cover without disturbing the tailgate.
To keep snow, water, and dust out of your bed, the tonneau cover includes weather stripping and foam seals. An automotive-grade weather strip ensures a firm, dependable seal along the bulkhead of your truck. Attached to the bottom of each side rail is a foam seal that conforms to the shape of your bed rails. These seals help to prevent any scratches on your bed rails as well as fill any gaps to keep your cargo from getting wet or dirty. The cover also overlaps the top of the tailgate for additional protection against intrusive dirt and debris.
The RetraxONE MX is constructed of a polycarbonate known as Lexan - the same material used to make bulletproof glass and jet fighter canopies. It has excellent dent and impact resistance to keep it from getting damaged by falling debris. Additionally, 5/8" thick aluminum I-beams are embedded into the polycarbonate every 4-3/4" to give the cover added strength. As a result, this cover can hold up to 200 lbs of snow or evenly distributed weight when it's rolled out.
You'll never have to worry about the cover cracking in the cold or bubbling or fading in the hot sun because it's designed to perform in temperatures from -50 and 200 F, and its hard thermoplastic is UV treated to protect it from fading. On hot summer days, Lexan is cooler to the touch than metal, so you won't get burned when accessing your gear. And on top of that, its durable matte black finish is weather and scratch resistant.
To prevent mildew from forming on the cover while it's rolled up, the RetraxONE MX features a water management system that channels excess water out of the storage canister. Two drain tubes attach to the bottom of the canister to remove any water that gets inside. The tubes then route water through the existing drain holes in the floor of your truck bed, ensuring that the stored cover remains as dry as possible.
When rolled out, this tonneau sits nearly flush with the back of the canister to give a streamlined look. In addition to the flush-mounted locking handle, the sleek frame features a top panel that overlaps the bulkhead of the truck and storage canister, eliminating the gap in between.
The low-profile side rails mount just 1" above your truck bed, which offers a sleek look while still providing enough clearance for most 5th-wheel hitches to remain installed beneath the cover.
To install the RetraxONE MX, begin by attaching the side rails to the canister with the provided screws.
Because the cover comes preinstalled inside of the canister, it will take 2 people to lift the assembled unit and place it on your truck. Once the cover is in position, make sure that the side rails are square on your truck bed rails. Then secure them in place with the bolt-on clamps. Finally, install the drain tubes in the canister and route them through the factory holes in your truck bed.

Evangeline Hey everyone, today we're taking a look at the RetraxONE, hard tonneau cover right here at etrailer. So this is the RetraxONE MX it's a hard tonneau cover. It's low profile. It has a canister style. It also has things like drain tubes, side rails, clamps. We'll talk about all of those different features.
And then that way, you can see what is the difference between different tonneau covers. And is this the right one for you. Especially given that I've installed a lot of tonneau covers, is I really like how sleek this one looks. It looks great. Especially here on the Nissan frontier.
It's very low profile with that canister style. It doesn't take up much room behind our window. Plus, we can see that no matter where you wanna secure it, you can secure it quickly and easily. You have those different options. The downsides though, with that latch, it's only over here.
So if I wanted to go and open it up towards the cab or over here on the passenger side that is not an option for me. I have to do everything over here. Now opening it up. I just need to push, but you would also have to reach all the way into the truck bed, to bring it back out. But that's just how it goes with tonneau covers.
It's really up to you with what type of lifestyle are you going for What are you carrying in your truck bed Do you like that this has a 200 pound weight capacity and can be locked Or is the canister taking up space inside your truck bed, a deal breaker for you So first let's talk about hard and soft tonneau covers. This is a hard tonneau cover. It has slats that slide and it can also hold up weight. In fact, it can hold up to 200 pounds of evenly distributed weight. So soft tonneau covers usually have a canvas that's stretched out over the cover. And some people aren't completely comfortable with that because what if it tears What if someone tears it intentionally With a hard tonneau cover like this you don't have to worry about that. Now the difference's between other hard tonneau covers is some are tri folding tonneau covers. Where there are three rectangles that just fold onto each other. Others are like this, where they roll into a canister. This being a canister style means, no matter what position you have this tonneau cover in, it's going to be low profile. So some others they roll up, and then they cover your rear window. Here it rolls downwards, but there is a downside to that too. A canister will take up space inside of your truck bed. And the amount of space it will take up will depend on which type of tonneau cover you get for which type of truck. So for example, we have this installed on a 2022 Nissan frontier. The size of the canister is about, nine and a half inches from the top of the tonneau cover to the bottom of the canister. Which leaves us, nine and a half inches on the bottom of our truck bed. So for your truck, if you have a fifth wheel hitch right where I am here in the middle. You can see how you can lose some space on the front, just like as if you would have a toolbox. Plus you'd have to measure for the height of the tonneau cover. So to measure for the height, we have the side rails that sit on top of our truck bed sides. But they create rails for a tonneau cover. So your tonneau cover is actually sitting half an inch below your truck bed sides. So when you consider the half inch you lose from the side rails as well as the height of your truck bed. So for example with this Nissan frontier, we are left with 19 inches of actual truck bed height space. Now let's talk about using it. Opening and closing the tonneau cover and how easy that is. So this slides, back and forth really easy. But also you can lock it into place, wherever you want. So let's say you wanna close this part of your truck bed. Bringing that latch down means you cannot push this back and forth anymore. It's locked into place. So that gives you a lot more versatility compared to some other tonneau covers where they only have the all way open or the all of the way closed position. Plus, once you have this latch down. You can then use your keys to lock the tonneau cover. So when you're ready to drive away, you close the tonneau cover. You latch it into place with the option to lock it. And then, you close your tailgate. Even with the tailgate closed, you can actually open up your tonneau cover and push this open but it will take a lot more strength. But that way if you need to grab something real quick and you don't want to have to open up your tailgate, you can do so. The downside to that is you have to access it in the back driver's side. If you wanna access it over here in the passenger side or maybe up towards the cab, you do not have that option. All of it is operated by that latch. Now the RetraxONE MX definitely is a good looking tonneau cover. It's very sleek. It's very smooth. In fact, this has been on this truck for a couple months and it still looks almost new. It's very easy to clean off. It has a high quality polycarbonate material, and that matte black finish just makes things look nice and clean. Well what if a big storm kicks up, or how does it hold up to the elements Well, even though this one's been sitting out in the E trailer parking lot for every weekday for months, it still looks really good. You can see how that UV resistance has held up. And I don't see any fading, from the finish. Now for those storms, if you do have that water come down. You also have these drain tubes included with your tonneau cover. With them installed in the canister. This thing drains that water out of your own truck's drain holes. With this being custom fit it should work with your truck's own drain holes, but it really also depends on the truck. In fact, I had to drill this one out because we had this spray in bed liner that I had to drill through. So keep that in mind when installing this tonneau cover. But this was a look at the RetraxONE MX hard tonneau cover right here, at E trailer. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey..

Retractable cover opens and closes manually with a pop-up, locking handle that provides excellent security for your truck bed. Durable polycarbonate is long-lasting and supremely weather resistant. Sleek, streamlined design complements your vehicle. The unit shipped to my location with over a months delay. This was too late for our last camping trip of2 2021, which I was counting on using it. I installed this year instead. Some of the tapped holes need to be re-tapped. Also, drain plugs were a little tricky in that the hose interfered with that latching mechanism, so they did not latch correctly at first. The roll-up into the box does not seem as smooth as the videos seem to show. Roll down to close is smooth.
It fits great looks great it works e-trailer is a great company to use
A little challenging at first with the directions but with my neighbor helping we pulled through. 3-4 hours of slow methodical reading and working. Very nice product looks great and works as advertised.
One year update: My RetraxONE MX still looks and performs good. For my application (fifth wheel protection) it was a good choice.
I am very happy with the cover. It is exactly what I needed and it works great.
Thanks for the follow up. Everything I have ordered from etrailer has performed great.
You are my go to website.
I spoke with Jesse who was very helpful in helping me pick out this product for my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. He was also very helpful when he informed me that I needed a tailgate lock. The product arrived in a timely manner and was as advertised. My daughters and I set up the RetraxONE MX Hard Tonneau Cover pretty quickly. The installation was simple and straight-forward. Would purchase again from etrailer.
Installation straightforward, well buil t.
Excellent product. Easy do it yourself installation and looks and works great. Very high quality.
Great cover, not a minutes trouble after a year on the truck.
Everything was on time and good quality. Easy to install, but you need to open the lock before installing the rail. If the lock is in the lock or down position the rail won’t go on. Other than that it was easy and it looks great on the truck!
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability. I like the ability to cover, lock and latch in partially closed position to help support large items. I'm sure I'm getting a little bit better gas mileage because of the drag reduction off the bed. The only drawback: the space that the canister takes up reduces your bed size. It hasn't impacted me yet as I have the larger bed size. If you have a bed extender, that will help. I definitely like the retractable better that the folding ones.
this is a great product if your on the fence pull the string easy to install works good.
Great Tonneau
