When the road is covered in packed snow or glare ice, these grooved square links dig in hard to keep you moving forward. The grooves cut deeper than standard links, giving you dependable traction on steep grades and slippery surfaces. The ladder pattern keeps steady forward motion so you can climb, descend, or pull through deep accumulation without losing grip.
Wide tires need serious traction coverage, and that’s where the ladder-style setup comes in. Each cross chain lays evenly across the tread to spread out pressure and keep your contact patch biting into the snow. Whether you’re hauling, towing, or just driving on wide-base tires, the consistent grip and even load distribution mean steady control when conditions turn slick.
Getting chains tight in freezing weather can be rough, but the assisted cam design makes it quick and simple. Just twist the cams with the included tool to pull the chains snug around your tires. For even more security, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can fine-tune the fit. This setup keeps tension steady so you can stay focused on the drive instead of crawling around in the snow.

Every link is reversible, so when one side wears down, you can flip the chain and keep going. The nickel manganese alloy steel resists corrosion and holds up to repeated use, while the case-hardened finish adds even more strength and protection from wear. Dry them after each run and you’ll have chains ready to perform winter after winter.
These chains are built to handle super-single, dual, and wide-base-rim tires, giving you solid traction when you need it most. Sold as a set of two and backed by a 90-day warranty, they’re a dependable choice for anyone tackling deep snow, icy roads, or mountain passes all season long.
These chains fit the following tire sizes:

Adam: Hi, everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Pewag Square Link Snow Tire Chains, with cam tensioners. So these chains are going to be designed for some of those more wide and thick tires that you may have, and it is going to give you an extremely aggressive grip. So it is kind of like a ladder patterned-style with these square links. They're going to wear evenly, and they're all made of the same material, which is a manganese nickel alloy steel.
So it's going to resist against that rust and corrosion and all of that salt that's on the road when there's snow. Also, it does have some cam tensioners. They're really, really easy to do and it just makes it very easy to install, because we all know if you're putting these on, you're either stuck or in some cold situations. So making it really easy to put these on is definitely a plus for me.So these square links are going to be about 5.6 mm in width. So it's going to be pretty big.
And with this cross chain pattern as well, it's going to give you about 32% more traction, compared to some of the other ones in this market. So these aren't the most aggressive chains that we get for these tires. We do have some V-Bar ones that are going to be a lot more aggressive. They're going to have more like daggers sticking out. They're going to grip a lot better, but they're going to wear a little bit more. Also, there's some twist links that we have.
It's not going to be as aggressive as our square links here, but they're going to ride a little bit smoother as well. But all of these are going to come in a pack of two. So if you have four wheel drive applications or all wheel drive, just go ahead and use our fit guide on our website, and just type in your tire size and just grab two pair.We do also recommend just grabbing one of these rubber tensioners. It does not come with your kit, but we do sell them here at etrailer.com, so it's the one stop shop.Well everyone, that's just about it for our look at the Pewag Square Link Snow Tire Chains, with cam tensioners.

These chains on my Jeep Rubicon are fantastic. I am a volunteer firefighter and EMT in the mountains of Colorado. I need to get to emergency incidents in the worst of weather. These chains make that possible.

Great! Best chains I have ever owned. Easy on easy off, full grip on and off-road. Use them regular off road on logging raids and hunting trails
