Features:

  • Provides excellent traction in snow and light ice
    • Twist links are great for snow, but provide some traction on ice too
    • Small, rounded links makes for a less bumpy ride than thick, square links
    • Ladder pattern gives you traction as you drive forward
  • Made for passenger vehicles with limited wheel-well clearance
    • Meets SAE Class S standards
  • Installs quickly without any cams
    • No chance of cams coming undone when you're reversing or navigating rough terrain
    • Rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used for a tight fit
  • Constructed of low-carbon steel for strength and durability
  • Includes reusable storage case

Specs:

  • Fits: 13" tires (for exact sizes, see below)
  • Link thickness: 4.5 mm (0.177")
  • Quantity: 2 tire chains
  • 30-Day limited warranty

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

If you have a car that requires low-profile chains because of limited clearance, but you need something a bit heavier duty than standard cable chains - which really aren't designed for anything beyond light snow- these chains are perfect. The rounded twist links provide traction in snow and light ice, and they give you a smoother ride than square links. These chains are also far more affordable than those square-link, Class S chains, so you won't have to pay an arm and leg if you only need a durable "just-in-case" option for driving through the mountains.

Class S Designation

SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's user manual.

SAE Class S Clearance Diagram

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Snow Chains

Installing these chains is easy

Lay chains on the ground to get all the tangles out

1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.

Drape chains over tire.

2. Drape the chains over your tires, making sure that the prongs attaching the cross chains to the side chains face away from your sidewalls. Drive forward about half a tire rotation.

Connect the chain behind the tire

3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire.

Attach optional tensioners

4. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chain tension. If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to get a tight fit. Make sure the hooks on the adjusters face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.

Quick Tips:

  • Lengthen the life of snow chains by drying them after each use before you store them.
  • Check out our installation kit with safety lights and a kneeling pad (PO34FRK) to make things a little easier when you're installing chains out in the snow.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

Video Transcript for How to Install: Titan Chain Low Profile Tire Chains on your 2007 Toyota Prius

Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius we'll be taking a look at the Titan Chains snow tire chain, with a ladder pattern. Part number TC1126. As you can see here to connect the cross chains here to our side chains there are the metal keepers, and on the backside they are flat. The flat side is the side you want on your tire and on the side wall so it doesn't damage your tire. On one side you have open chains on the front and back, and on the other end, on the backside you have a hook and on the front side you have a fastener that goes with the chains to tension your chains up and make them nice and tight around your tire. Here's what our new Titan chains look like installed on our Prius. As you can see, nice and secure fit on both sides.

The cross chains here have a twist in the link, and that's actually going to dig into the snow and ice and give you excellent traction in inclement weather. These are a class S, so they're great for vehicles that have limited wheel well clearance, such as this Prius. If you'd like you can add a rubber adjuster here to give you even more tension. This kit does come with 2 tire chains that could be put on the rear or front of your vehicle depending on if you have front wheel or rear wheel drive, and have a 30 day limited warranty. Now we'll go ahead and show you how to install the tire chain on your Prius. Now with our chain laid out we can go ahead and drape it over our tire.

Now you want to go ahead and make sure that your tire chain is even on the side wall of the tire on the front and rear of the tire. That will just make it a lot easier to hook up and it will make your tire chain even on your tire. Now that we have our chain draped around our tire and even on the side walls on the front and back we can go ahead and go to the back side, we can take our open links here, we can connect them to the hook on this side. Now depending on your vehicle, you'll go to different lengths. On this one we're going to go ahead and go to the second link here on the rear. Now if you do have excess links here you can go ahead and zip tie them up so they don't swing around and damage your car or if you have it set for one particular car you can go ahead and cut those links off and it's set for this and you don't have to mess with any extra links coming around swinging when your wheel is rotating.

Now we'll come to the front side of our tire, take our open chains here and our tensioner, feed our cable onto it . if you have extra links here feed them all onto it. This one we're going to go to . I'd go to the first link here. And then this will turn over and hook into your chain.

Just like that, our tire chains are installed and we're ready to hit the road. That will do it for our look at the Titan Chains snow tire chains. Part number TC1126 on our 2007 Toyota Prius. .

  • Can Same Chains be Used on 265/60R18 and 245/60R18 Size Tires
It sounds like you are asking if a set of tire chains for a 265/60R18 size tire will also fit a 245/60R18 size tire. Looking through the available chains for each of these tire sizes, it does not look like the same set of chains will be able to fit both tires. The size difference between the two is just enough to require a smaller assembly for your 245/60R18 tires Just for reference a 245/60R18 tire will be about an inch smaller both in diameter and width than a 265/60R18 size tire. • Length and Width of the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains 1126
The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC1126 measure 58.4" long x 11.56" wide. I confirmed this with my contact at Titan Chain. • Which Tire Chains Will Fit A 25 Inch Diameter Tire That Is 7 Inches Wide?
I have a solution for you, but the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC1126 will not be able to fit around tires that have a diameter of 25" and width of 7". I recommend going with the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains - Ladder Pattern # TC1142 which will easily fit your tires. For a tight fit, I recommend adding Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster # TCMA2 to the tire chains. I attached a demonstration video for you.
