Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.
These chains are outstanding in serious winter weather conditions because the V-bar studs can bust through intense ice and packed snow. So, you'll be able to get to work and back home again even in the toughest weather. You can also use them if you ever go off-roading and end up in a mud-digging situation. These chains are going to help give your vehicle purchase to pull out and keep moving.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Drape the chain over the tire, ensuring that the V-bar studs face away from the tire.
3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire, then clamp the lever to fasten extra chain links and keep them from flapping as you drive.
4. Insert the included tool into the cam and twist to tighten the sidewall chain. Twist as many cams as it takes to get a tight fit.
5. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chain tension. Tighten any loose cams. If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to help give you a tight fit. Make sure the hooks on the adjusters face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Adam: Hi everyone. Adam, etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan chain, snow tyre chains. So this does have a V bar style link, which is going to be the more aggressive style of your snow tyre chains. This is going to wear down a little bit more than some of your square shaped links, but it is going to give you superior traction to all of those. It may be a little rougher ride, but this is definitely going to get you out of those snowy or icy situations.
So this is going to be a ladder-pattern style tyre chain. Also, it is going to be made of a low carbon steel construction. It's going to last a decently long time and resist against rust and corrosion. Whenever you have these on, it's probably going to be soft on the roads. So having a nice, solid metal is definitely going to help it wear away. So, these do come in a pack of two, which have a decently sturdy canvas bag.
So for your all wheel drive and four wheel drive applications, you can just grab two sets on etrailer.com and it's going to be the same exact installation process on all four of your tyres. So the first thing we're going to want to do is lay out our chains and make sure there's no kinks in our links. Also, something to note, we want to make sure that the V-Bar is going to be facing out away from our tyre, and the open end here is going to be facing out as well. Once all that's done, we can try to grab the middle of our chains and drape them over our tyre. We'll make sure we get it nice and even. So now that we're back here, we're going to take our spare links here and our hook.
We're going to find a chain. I want to do the second closest, and then we're going to go around front and complete the connection. So around front, we're going to take our metal portion here, put it through a link and bend it over like so, it connects it to our spare link here. Now we can take our cam tensioner tool, put it into place and rotate this around to get that desired tightness. We don't have to do all of them, but I am going to do two here. We do have about four on this kit.
That should be pretty tight. So these cams did do a pretty good job at getting these chains nice and tight. And I only use two of them. There's two more that I could tighten down if we needed to get a little bit tighter, but if you want that added security and comfort, you can go on etrailer.com and purchase some of these rubber tensioners. And all you really need to do is just have the hooks facing out away from your tyres and then go on a diamond or star-pattern just across from each other to get them installed. That's something that you would like to have with your tyre chains. They don't come with them, but, we do sell them here at etrailer.com. Well, everyone, thanks for tuning in and taking a look at Titan chain, snow tyre chains..
