Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Putco 48 inch long, direct fit Blade LED tailgate light bar. Now, this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Ford Ranger trucks with the factory halogen taillights. Now, on a custom-fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application.

Now, this tailgate light bar provides auxiliary stop, tail, turn and backing light functions. It does install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate between the tailgate and the bumper. And it uses LEDs to produce a nice, bright red, amber, or white light based on which signal is being used. Now, at the end of this video, I am gonna hook this up to some 12 volt power just to show you how the light bar works, how bright it is, but I first wanna go over some of the functions of it. So, I wanna zoom in.

We can look at the light bar here. It is a COB LED technology light bar, and the COB stands for chip on board technology. That'll create a nice, bright, solid panel of light. And if you notice the LED chips are mounted close together to give a uniform, high-intensity light, similar to a lighting panel. It is a nice sealed lens and housing unit, which is waterproof.

Has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. And if you notice, has a nice, tinted polycarbonate housing, provides a nice, sleek look on your vehicle. Now, this is a very simple installation. Comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, and the connectors for installation. It does also have the quick connect, custom-fit wiring harness here that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections and then give you a four-way here.

And then the four-way from your light bar will plug right into there. So, there's no cutting or spicing of wires. Now, one note I do wanna mention is, I mentioned it earlier, is that this part fits vehicles with the halogen taillights only. If you do have the vehicle that has the LED taillights, you'll need the part number P64CR. And that light bar we do also sell separately on our website. Few specs on this, again, the application is for mid-size trucks. The length of this light bar is 48 inches long. Width is only 5/8 of an inch. Height is about 3/8 of an inch tall. Now, one thing I also wanna mention is this goes in the backup light, it'll go to a white light. And it'll give you a nice, cool white color. And the output on the backup light is over 3,000 lumens, so I do wanna show you that. So, we got it hooked up to our four-way. We got it hooked to our 12 volt power. So, I'll go ahead and turn on the lights. Go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And you can see there's the light bar with all the red lights lit up. So, this is giving you the taillight function. So, this will match the lights on the rear of your vehicle. And then when you apply your brakes, you'll notice that it lights up and gets brighter just like your brake lights will on the back of your truck. And then when you go for the turn signals, if we do the driver's side or left turn signal, you can see there's half of the bar. You'll see amber lights at the very bottom that'll light up that lets you know you're making a left-hand turn. And then if you do the passenger's side, you're gonna do a right turn, you can see the other half will light up when your turn signal's activate it. And again, they'll be amber lights for the turn signal. And then we mentioned a backup light, so if we go to the backup light, you'll be able to see when you go into the reverse mode, then you'll see how your backup light comes on and the whole light lights up in a white, bright, cool white light. As I mentioned, the output is about 3,000 lumens, so when you do go in reverse, people behind you will be able to know that you're backing up. And I'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights.
