Today, we're gonna be taking a look at a pretty cool upgrade for your vehicle. These are the Aries Actiontrac Motorized Running Boards. So you're looking at motorized running boards. Well, you're definitely looking at the top tier when it comes to putting running boards on your vehicle, but what sets these apart, there's only a couple on our website but this one you're gonna have two different options. So whenever I'm just sitting here hanging around talking to my friends, we can use the top step, it is load bearing, so we can do this. This is gonna be great for putting stuff up on top of your roof, but then we have the other step which is extremely low, which is great if you kind of struggle to get in your vehicle or you just jack up your whole entire Bronco or whatever vehicle that you have on there, and this is gonna help you get in, but also load some of that cargo up just to enable your vehicle to do more.
And might I say these do look good as well. Got a little bit of delay to go up but now we're ready to roll. Be sure to put your vehicle year, make, and model into our fit guide. It's at the center on the top of our a website, can't really miss it. That's gonna pair you up with the right amount of brackets and the right length.
So some of 'em will be a little bit longer than others. This is about 69 inches long, but notice how we actually have it a little bit more tailored to the driver and passenger front doors, just because our customer kind of struggles getting in and out of the vehicle, so we wanted to make sure he had the most amount of steps to get in here. So he has plenty of surface area 'cause you notice how it kind of folds out that way. So this way we have so much different room so he can get in. However, he really needs to typically just grabs it and just steps up, steps on the other step, and plops on down, and he's good to go.
So there's a lot of adjustability there. One thing I really like about these steps is they give you a switch and I just put it right back here but you can flip that off if you plan on kind of loading a bunch of stuff up on your roof and you really don't want to have those doors open. This way, it's gonna stay down. You can go ahead and load all your stuff up, you're good to go. And then whenever you're done, you flip the switch back on and then wait a second or two and they go back up.
I think that's a pretty neat feature. They give you a bracket and a bunch of different ways to mount this thing up. All you have to do is just connect it. And then whenever the light is on you know that they're active and whenever it's off it's not gonna go down or up. Another cool thing about these steps is we can keep them retracted. So you get all the benefits of a normal nerf bar. But if you flip the switch, it'll open. But since I'm in here right now and the step is not open I can flip that switch to the off position and I don't have to worry about it coming out. So I think you have quite a bit of options with that. And I really do like that. Another little add on that they did is this, another bracket with an LED light. So we mount this in the back and it shoots forward just to illuminate the steps, so we know where we're stepping. Since we have two different steps the bottom one is gonna be about three and a quarter inches wide and the top one is gonna be four inches wide. So it does give you a decent amount and you notice how it's not really close to our rockers, so it does give you plenty of room without the doors open to be able to get up and I don't really have to hold onto the vehicle. So definitely gonna help loading some of that stuff on your roof. These steps are gonna keep you safe and keep itself safe. Meaning, if I'm underneath here wrenching, let's just say I'm laying down and something's up against the bottom, I open it up the motor isn't gonna continue to try to expand this out. So the motor's not gonna blow up because it's gonna protect itself. But also when you close it, it'll suck back up. But also if you're maybe going through a creek and you get stuck, maybe you're completely bottomed out, your frame is literally on the ground. You open it up, it's gonna stop, and you're good to go. So I definitely like that. Also, if the kiddos get in and they're just still chilling here like this, it'll try but then again, it'll stop, so they can get their foot out and it's not really gonna pinch anything at all. We have some grooves right here that's the gonna give us our traction both on the top step and the bottom step, which is nice. So these aren't the most amount of traction you're gonna get but when it comes to motorized running boards it's gonna be pretty much the standard, you're not gonna see a whole lot of traction, but you're not really gonna slip and if you do kind of have that in mind you don't wanna make sure that happens, you can grab some grip tape or something and put that on top. We do sell that as well. So if you really wanna be safe, you can do that. It is made of aluminum. So you don't have to worry about it rusting away if you're on the coast or anything like that. Has a matt powder-coated finish, which is really cool. And if I we're to compare these to some of the other ones, these sit a little bit lower than most, which there's really only one more on our website that I would compare this to. I mean, it's about four inches thick and it sits about two inches from your rocker. So about six inches from your rocker is where it's gonna be. But majority of the other running boards that you're gonna have the mounting hardware is gonna be that low as well. So if I we're to compare these to the other motorized steps those will suck up really, really tight to the side but it's not gonna have the two step as you can see here. And also these, in my opinion, seem a little bit more rugged and they have a little bit more bracketry. So I think it's gonna be a little bit more stiff and solid. I'm about 175 pounds, and even when I'm kind of jumping on top of these things, they're not really doing anything, they're not really bending. So there is a little bit of flex but you don't want it to be completely rigid 'cause that's when stuff kind of breaks, but this is definitely better than the OEM ones that I have on my vehicle. So that is definitely a plus. There's no lack of quality here. The top step is a little bit longer than the bottom step. So with the deployed step, it's about 53 and a half inches and both the bottom and the top step are gonna have a capacity of 650 pounds. So if you're not 175 like me and you're carrying a big heavy, let's say a kayak or something, up onto your roof, 650 pounds is a lot. So I don't think you're gonna overload that at all, even if you have two different people getting up and over. One thing about the deploy step these are going to come down farthest compared to all the other ones that we have on our website. So it's about eight inches of drop. So again, if you really need help getting into your vehicle these are the way to go. With the kit, you're gonna get brackets and running boards for both the driver and passenger side, and they all have all the same features that we just went over. I think this is gonna be just a great upgrade for whatever vehicle you plan on putting it on. Another cool thing about these running boards is if you have a vehicle, you can take them doors off of it. Yes, they are activated by opening and closing the doors, but we do have a door delete kit you can buy separately. So you can take a doors off but still have them retract and come up. And that'll do it for a look at the Aries Actiontrac Motorized Running Boards..

I finally got them installed and they are wonderful. My wife has arthritic knees and it was very difficult for her to get in the Jeep. With these Motorized Running Boards she can now get in effortlessly.
So far so good. It took me all day to install the boards, but, I approached it methodically. I wasted an hour trying to thread the main power lead through the firewall: then realized I could just grab a hot lead in the fuse panel next to the drivers door....a rookie mistake I will not make again. They work well and my wife loves the ability to actually get into and out of the 2500 Silverado...me too! Here to hoping they work for several years.
4.5* actually. Overall, I really like these. They are a good price and they look nice. Some of the brackets had to be bent a little bit to get them to line up correctly, but it wasn't bad. I've actually purchased these twice! I sold the first vehicle, but immediately bought these for the better optioned vehicle I traded up for. NOTE - DO NOT buy the door delete kit that can be added to this. It's a waste of money that overrides the basic automatic functionality on a daily basis. The basic kit includes an on/off switch already.
The running boards have worked perfectly. the closed height is unobstructive for normal 4x4 use and the down position makes entry and exit easy even for persons with dexterity problems.
the light package is adequate for front and rear doors.
Installation went well, leave all bolts loose until mounted then tighten seems to make it easy.
I would highly recommend.
Did not send enough 1/4" washer. Washer to hold boards to brackets had to grind flat to clear bracket(washers to big around). But all other parts worked good.
These steps work very well. The installation of the bars are one of the most easiest I have seen. I have installed other brands and they took much longer. All the holes lined up as expected. The wiring is not for the faint at heart. We had to take the back seat out of the Colorado and peel back the carpet to run the wiring. The instructions were straight forward and easy to follow.
After owning these for a year they are still working like the day we put them on. We have had a few issues with the end caps of the walk boards being faded by the sun and turning white. The driver side light began blinking when the door was opened. I contacted the company and they sent me new end caps, stated that they had a bad batch sent to them that were not UV free and they sent a new light. I replaced the light and still have the problem. But the company appears to work well on warranty items. Only reason I did not give the the full 5 stars is due to the end caps fading and the light began blinking. Other wise I would purchase these again. They are not cheap by any means but are of a good quality.

I order these for my 2022 Chevy 2500 they had them is stock and came fast. Very good fit bolted right on. It took me about 3 hours in my driveway to install them. They are about 12” off the ground when deployed. I like the 2 steps design very helpful. They look very nice and are built strong.
Put them on the wife’s wrangler and she loves them. So far they work great and not much maintenance
Running Boards are exactly as advertised. Simple to install as long as you follow the instructions.
This is a custom install. Choosing the proper running board was easy, received order promptly.
Work great and good quality but almost half of the nuts that were supplied would not go on the studs

These retractable running boards are "Almost" "Plug&Play" on Fords. First, I recommend Ford Upfitter Switches to power On/Off the boards (no drilling thru the truck firewall). Second, I found that I needed to Re-route/Re-group the wires thru the floor paneling...some wires needed to be on the Passenger side. Third, it would be nice if the RBoards did not have a low current draw on the battery when parked long term.
I would buy them again and do strongly recommend these RBoards. It is presently the best available choice on the market. I installed these boards myself in about 6-8Hrs.
I was disappointed that there was no wording or switches with this product that was an additional cost had I known I wouldn’t have bought them

First time for the power running boards. Wasn’t to hard to put on. Now that I did it once I’ll be able to cut down the time in half. Wife loves the fact that it has a two step to get into the truck. Especially with bad knees. A+ for us
Customer service was great. Received my running boards and in transit they had a minor dent on the top.Amy who was helping me , didn't think twice and sent me a whole new set in two days , which was great. The new set that I received were in perfect shape.
My wife can now get into my Chevy 2500HD without a step stool!
Love them. Only issue I have had with them is both side lights blink instead of being solid.
I bought them for my dad so he can get in and out easily. I like the on off switch because I don't use them unless he's riding with me.
Install was no joke. Hard part is the wiring. Had to remove the rear interior and pillar panels to install harness and four door switches. Has to be a better way, like tapping into the door light switch wire to trigger the steps!
Steps are nice, I like how there are two steps compared to the other guys power step. Lot easier on the seat bolsters getting out instead of sliding out to a lower step.
I liked the idea of a two step running board. My wife has had operations
on her knees and was difficult for her to get into her jeep with the
standard side steps. I started looking for powered steps and these
sounded like just the ticket. There was some fabrication involved,
because I installed them on a 2000 TJ Wrangler, but nothing too crazy. I
used some 3/16" flat bar and sandwiched it between the body mounts. In
retrospect, I should have used C channel for the longer front mount,
because I had to weld gussets on it. Welded a piece of angle to the
flat bar for the supplied mounts. If you don't have a welder, it could
all be bolted in with the C channel.
I also didn't care for the supplied magnets and switches held on with
tape to operate the steps. We hit up the u-pull-it wrecking yard and got
the same style switch that operates the dome lights and I installed them
above the original switches.
I put the door delete bypass in the housing for the front speakers on
the dash.
They have been installed for about two months now and we've had no
problems with the operation. Lots of likes from our friends who see them
in operation.
All brackets has areas that didn’t get coating and rust was starting to form. Primed with cold-galv paint then followed up with satin black.
Instructions were not in color as stated, black and white photos hard to make out. Had to cross reference on the web in addition to the instructions to install.
The running boards … one opens and closes louder then the other which is startling at first but very pleased, works as advertised, looks good.
