When long hauls and heavy cargo are part of the routine, this tire is made to stay steady mile after mile. The Rambler ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire has a Load Range E, a 10-ply rating, and carries up to 3,520 lbs at 80 psi. With an M speed rating of 81 mph and DOT-compliant construction that exceeds FMVSS standards, it’s ready for confident towing on the open road.
Highway heat can take its toll, but the radial ply design keeps things cool. The cords run at a 90-degree angle to reduce friction and heat buildup while improving tread life. Double steel belts and double polyester cords combine with a nylon tread-firming overlay to hold the shape and prevent tread separation, giving you a dependable, even ride at higher speeds.
When you’re logging miles, it helps to know exactly how your tread is wearing. The Rambler’s standard trailer tread uses solid ribs and built-in tread bars for a quick visual cue when wear starts to show. That straightforward design delivers predictable handling and long-lasting performance where stability matters most.

If you already run Rambler tires, consistency is built in. There are no variations within the Rambler line for this size—ST235/80R16 Load Range E is the only option—so you can match your existing setup without second-guessing specs or sidewall markings.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster Rambler 235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E. Now this is a radial ply tire, so it's great for highway use. It does use the double steel belts and the double polyester cords, which combine for a nice, long life. And they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire, help prevent tread separation.
This tire is designed to fit 16 inch diameter wheels. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right over here, you'll see ST for Special Trailer 235/80R16. R stands for the radial tire. It's a load range E, which means it's a 10 ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 3,520 pounds at 80 PSI.
And all the new trailer tires do come with a speed rating on them, and they stamp it on the sidewall. And where you'll find that, they do it with a letter designation. So right after the size we just went over, you'll see two numbers for the load index. And then there's a letter M. Speed rating M will mean 81 miles per hour.
Now this tire has a standard tread design on it. Has a solid continuous ribs, and there's very few sipes or cuts that are put into the tread blocks. The sipes are what help with bad weather by breaking up any water underneath the tire. But because these tires are designed for use on trailers, they really don't require the level of traction that's gonna be needed on a vehicle when you're breaking or steering. I mentioned it's an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer.
Has the sturdy sidewall so they can handle heavy loads. It means it's created specifically for trailers, not intended for use on other vehicles. Does meet DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications and it does exceed federal motor vehicle safety standards. But that should do it for the review on this Taskmaster Rambler 235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E.

Was the perfect fit for my pop up trailer. Took them on a long drive and so far no problems. Smooth ride.
I only had about 400 miles on these tires when I picked up a piece of road debris. I went ahead and ordered a new tire and had the other patched for future use as a spare. So far (other than the puncture) I love these tires much better than the OEM 6 ply set. I have a 34' Travel Trailer that weighs 6,900lb when dry.
Delivery was on time as planned and placing the order was simple
I selected this tire to replace old the 5.30-12 bias ply tires that were on my small utility trailer that I converted to haul Kayaks. I felt the radial option was preferable in terms of load and speed range of 81 mph compared to the bias ply limitation of 65 mph.
With these tires I feel more confident hitting the road for our next river trip. I’ll try to provide an update once I have some miles on these tires.
Nice upgraded tire. Excellent quality.
