Corrosion is no match for the white acrylic enamel finish on this steel wheel. The finish goes over an e-coat primer and zinc phosphate pre-treatment to resist chipping and road damage better than standard powder coat finishes. With a salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours, the result is a clean look that stands up to wet roads and long-term use.
Constant retightening isn’t needed here. The wheel’s raised center disc and beveled, uncoated stud holes deliver better clamp force retention so it stays secure on your hub. It’s a simple mechanical advantage that helps keep things tight even after extended towing time.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Let's take a look together at this Rambler ST235/80R16 Load Range E-Radial Trailer Tire with a 16 inch Vesper white mod wheel with a 6-on-5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This tire and wheel assembly is gonna be great for your stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. This special trailer tire or ST tire has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads. This is created specifically for trailers and it's not intended for use on other vehicles. This radial tire is great for highway use and it is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability.
The nylon tread firming belt overlays are gonna help prevent tread separation, and the tread bars are gonna give you a quick visual indicator of tread wear. So as I began our video and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is an ST235/80R16. The load range is E, meaning it has a 10-ply rating. The maximum load is 3,520 pounds at 80 PSI. And this has a speed rating of M, indicating a maximum speed of 81 miles per hour.
This sturdy steel Vesper wheel features this modular design as you can see here, and that white acrylic enamel finish is gonna resist chipping and other damage better than the powder-coated finishes. This finish is actually applied after a zinc phosphate pretreatment, and it does cover an e-coat, an eco primer layer, so this is gonna have excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours. This does have beveled stud holes that's going to help keep your wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. That's going to eliminate the need for constant-re tightening of the lug nuts. Measuring the diameter from bead seat to bead seat, this is 16 inches in diameter and this wheel is six inches wide.
And as I mentioned, the bolt pattern on this wheel is 6-on-5-1/2 inches. And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes as we have here, you're simply going to measure from the center of one bolt hole to the bolt hole directly across from it. Now, this wheel has a capacity of 3,640 pounds. The wheel stud size is 1/2 an inch by 20 or 9/16 of an inch by 18.
The center cap is sold separately, but you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 4.25 inches. Now, this tire and wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications. The tire meets the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Specifications. And one final note, this tire and wheel assembly does come with a Platinum warranty, Platinum Plus warranty, that includes the complimentary roadside assistance for two years. So if your trailer has a flat tire, you just call their helpline and a technician will come and change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And in addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty will also include other benefits and services.
