This Provider ST235/85R16 radial tire and silver Vesper dual wheel setup is built for serious hauling. The tire carries a 14-ply rating with a 4,400-lb max load at 110 psi when used single, or 3,860 lbs at 110 psi in dual setups. With an M speed rating (81 mph) and highway-ready radial construction using double steel belts and double polyester cords, it’s made for strength, durability, and confidence on long runs.
No need for a trip to the tire shop—this assembly is match mounted and balanced at the factory. A laser-guided process aligns the lightest part of the tire with the heaviest part of the wheel, then fine-tunes with weights for smooth performance. The result is less vibration, reduced wear on running gear, and a stable ride right out of the box.
The sturdy steel wheel gets an acrylic enamel finish that resists chipping and damage better than powder coat options. It’s applied over a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and e-coat primer for extra protection, delivering excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than 1,000 hours. The silver look stays sharp while standing up to road debris and weather.

Designed to work as either the inner or outer position in a dual configuration, this wheel’s +/-5.35" offset ensures proper spacing and balanced alignment on both sides. The hub-piloted center locates directly on the hub for accurate seating and requires 5/8"-18 flange nuts (sold separately) for mounting. That means a solid fit and dependable performance in demanding dual applications.
This tire-and-wheel assembly includes a 2-Year Platinum Plus warranty featuring complimentary roadside assistance. If you have a flat, help is available 24 hours a day to change it out with your existing inflated spare. It’s built coverage that keeps you moving when it counts most.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Provider ST235/85R16 radial trailer tire in a load range G on this 16" Vesper silver dual wheel with the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is designed for dually trailers. The wheel offset on this allows this assembly to be used as either the inner or the outer wheel of a dual wheel setup and it is a sturdy steel wheel. You can see has the four handhold design here.
It does use a silver acrylic enamel finish to resist chipping and other damage better than the powder coat finishes. This finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and then it covers an e-coat primer layer. It gives you a nice, excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than a thousand hours. The center disc itself, this portion is formed from fine grain steel, and you can see it's welded in place all the way around for strength and durability. Now, this is a hub piloted wheel. It is designed to center onto a 4.77" diameter hub, and it does require the use of five-eighths inch by 18 size flange nuts for installation.
Those we do sell separately on our website. They're part number 59188, and the nuts are usually listed on this product page as a related product. The tire on this is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for nice long life. It's great for highway use.
They do use nylon tread firming belt overlays to help prevent tread separation. It does have the tread depth bars like you'll see in passenger car tires that give you a quick visual indication of your tread wear. The tire itself is bake tested to ensure that the rubber will hold up over time. This tire is a special trailer tire design, couples the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. It is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles.
It does come with a two year platinum plus warranty, which includes emergency tire change service and other benefits. And the assembly does meet the DOT specifications and exceeds the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The dimensions on the wheel itself, the diameter is 16", the width on just the wheel is 6" wide, bolt pattern on this wheel is 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. We mentioned it does use the flange nut size of five-eighths inch by 18. The weight capacity on just the wheel is 3,860 pounds. The pilot hole diameter is 4.77". The offset is always measured from the center line of the wheel to which side you go to either positive or negative. So this one, because it could be used as either an inner or outer wheel, it'll have a positive or negative offset of 5.35". The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 235/85R16. The R means it's a radial design tire. Section width on this is 9.3". Overall diameter from the bottom to the very top is 31.7. Tire capacity this is a load range G which means it's a 14 ply rated tire. The maximum load on this tire when it's used in a single application, a single tire application is 4,400 pounds at 110 PSI. If it's used in a dual tire application then it's 3,860 pounds at 110 PSI.Last thing I do want to mention is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with speed ratings on them. The speed rating is always designated on the tire by a letter designation. Where that's at is if you go right after the size, you'll see two numbers for the load index and then the letter M and it will also be stamped 110 PSI. But the letter M is your speed rating, and the speed rating M will mean 81 miles per hour. That should do it for the review on this Provider ST 235/85R16 radial trailer tire in a load range G on the 16" Vesper silver dual wheel with the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
