When you’re logging serious highway time, this combo is built to stay cool and steady. The Kenda Karrier ST225/75R15 radial tire has an 8-ply rating and carries up to 2,540 lbs at 65 psi, backed by a Load Range D and an M speed rating of 81 mph. Its radial design reduces rolling resistance and heat buildup, giving you long tread life and smooth tracking mile after mile.
Strength matters when you’re hauling heavy gear. Kenda pairs double steel belts with full nylon plies for extra stability and long life. This rugged internal build keeps the tire firm under load while maintaining a consistent footprint, so it handles weight and highway heat without feeling harsh or wandering at speed.
Moisture, salt spray, and road grime are no match for this wheel’s finish. The 15" x 6" aluminum wheel is lightweight, rustproof, and coated front and back with a protective clear coat to resist scuffs and corrosion. The matte-black mesh design adds a clean, modern look that holds up through every season.
No need to piece things together—this is a complete tire-and-wheel assembly that meets Department of Transportation specifications right out of the box. The wheel’s 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern, 0 offset, and 3.75" pilot diameter give it dependable fitment and balance. Rated for a 3,200-lb wheel capacity, it’s built to handle real-world loads safely and confidently on the open road.
Road hazards happen, but Kenda has your back. If the tire is damaged in any way during the first 12 months, it will be replaced at no charge under the 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee—so you can focus on enjoying the drive instead of stressing about downtime.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Kenda Karrier ST225/75R15 radial trailer tire in a load range D and it's mounted on this 15 inch black mesh aluminum wheel with the 6 on 5-1/2 half inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. The wheel is a Sendel Series T17 aluminum wheel, which is a mesh style design wheel with the matte black finish. You notice the front and even the back of the wheel is clear coated for protection. Now, this wheel does not come with a center cap.
We do sell those separately. If you do want one, the center cap when you purchase it, you do wanna get one that has the same diameter as this pilot hole 'cause when you install your center cap, it will go through this hole. The diameter on this pilot hole is 3.75 inches. Now, the wheel itself, the diameter is 15 inches. The width on just the wheel is six inches wide.
And this wheel does have a bolt pattern of 6 on 5-1/2 half inches. And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, like in this case six, it's pretty simple because if you notice, the lug holes are directly across from each other. So to measure, all you have to do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and then just measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. On this, it'll measure 5-1/2 inches, so that means it's a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This does use a wheel lug size of half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 3,200 pounds.
Now, the tire that's mounted on this wheel is a Kenda Karrier special trailer radial tire. This special trailer design will couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. And it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. Does use double steel belts and then full nylon plies to combine for superior function and long life.
The tread on this, if you look, is a nice computer-generated tread design and they use premium rubber compound materials to offer superior traction and wet or dry conditions. Now, the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right by the rim, it'll say ST for special trailer 225/75R15. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width on this is 8.6 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top where it's inflated is 28.5. And this tire is a load range D, which means it's an eight ply rated tire, has a maximum load capacity of 2,540 pounds at 65 PSI. And the last thing I wanna mention is all the new trailer tires do come with a speed rating stamped on them and they stamp it on the sidewall by a letter designation. And usually where it's at is if you go right after the tire size we just went over, there's two numbers for load index and then the letter M. Speed rating M will mean it has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. Now, this assembly does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Kenda Karrier 225/75R15 radial trailer tire in the load range D mounted on this 15 inch black mesh aluminum wheel.

So far, have towed about 10,000 miles without incident.
Stable and consistent. So far, all good.
The process was not pleasant. Shipping took much longer than originally quoted. Don’t believe the shipping dates that are provided. They are not accurate and customer service doesn’t care about you once you have placed your order.
I bought a smoker trailer and after looking at the tires I found that they were rated for 500 lbs each without a spare. Etrailer had the resources to determine what I needed and then gave me options for what I wanted. Fresh wheels and tires provided the safety I needed. Thank you.
