Features to know about

Handles Heavy Loads Smoothly: 7-Leaf Design Built for 15,000-lb Axles

When the suspension starts to sag or bounce under weight, it’s time for a stronger spring. This 7-Leaf Slipper Spring with a radius end is designed for 15,000-lb trailer axles, giving each spring a 7,500-lb capacity. Its seven stacked leaves flex to absorb road shock and keep the ride steady over rough pavement or gravel. The design helps reduce stress on the frame and other suspension parts so your trailer tracks level and stable mile after mile.

Built to Last: Sturdy 3" Wide Steel Construction

Heavy-duty trailers need suspension parts that can take real punishment. This spring is built from strong steel, measuring 3" wide with 3/8" thick leaves. The solid build prevents premature fatigue and keeps your suspension geometry consistent over time. It’s made to handle long hauls and rough conditions without bending or cracking under load.

Reliable Fit and Function: Radius-End Slipper Style with 1" Eye Bushing

Getting the right fit matters for proper suspension travel. This spring measures 30-1/2" from the center of the eye to the end of the slipper, matching most standard heavy-duty hanger setups. The front eye comes pre-fitted with a rubber bushing that has a 1" inner diameter for a snug mount on your hanger bolt. The radius-end slipper tail slides smoothly into the rear hanger or equalizer, keeping movement controlled and quiet through bumps and turns.

Smooth Ride Over Uneven Roads: Flex Design Reduces Shock and Wear

Rough roads can cause harsh jolts that wear out tires, frames, and cargo mounts. The multi-leaf design flexes under load, softening those impacts before they reach the rest of your trailer. That flexibility adds a smooth, cushioned ride while also cutting down on squeaks and vibration. It’s a simple way to get back the comfort and control that worn springs can’t deliver anymore.

Straightforward Replacement: Ready for Standard Hangers and Hardware

Swapping out worn springs doesn’t have to be complicated. The eye end bolts to your existing front hanger, while the slipper end slides into the rear hanger or equalizer. A hanger kit or replacement bolts may be required depending on your setup, but everything lines up cleanly once installed. For best results and proper axle alignment, replace both springs at the same time so your suspension stays balanced and true.

Video Transcript for All About the 7-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 15,000-lb Trailer Axles

Today we're gonna take a look at the 7 leaf slipper spring for the 15,000 pound trailer axles. Now, this spring is a strong, durable steel construction. It is designed to flex to absorb road shock, provide a nice smooth ride. Also reduces wear and tear on your trailer. Helps to enjoy a nice, level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces, and it does mount to your trailer frame with hangers, or a hanger kit, which we do sell separately on our website. Lots of times, it is included as a related product on this product page. If you notice on the eye portion right here, it does include the rubber bushing.

A few specs on this: the spring capacity itself is 7,500 pounds, and when this is paired with 1 on the other side of the axle, it'll reach your axle capacity of 15,000 pounds. If you notice the number of leafs on this is 7. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. I do want to give you some measurements. We're gonna start with the spring length.

The spring length is from the center of the eye to the end of the spring itself. So if we go from the center to the end, it's 30 and a half inches. The width on the spring is right at 3 inches wide. The eye diameter in the eye right here, the inside diameter is 1 inch. This part is for a quantity of 1 spring. Now, 1 last note on this, is to ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.

That should do it for the review on the 7 leaf slipper spring for 15,000 pound trailer axles.

Replaced rusty springs on a 14' skiff trailer. Fit perfect, DIY for cheap in the driveway, it would've been easier with an impact wrench. Take their advice, etrailer is the best for a reason, get ALL NEW HARDWARE TOO!! I broke several fasteners removing them, if the springs are bad, so is the hardware. I have done three hitches and a set of leaf springs now with these folks. Their install videos and expert advice made it a breeze to save probably a couple thousand in labor at a shop.

2,000 lb. GVW utility trailer came stock with set of two-leaf springs. No wonder it sagged when loaded to 1,500 to 2,000 lbs.
So I ordered a set of four-leaf springs. The description of the springs was very thorough so I was very sure they were what would work and install easily. When the new springs arrived it only took ten or fifteen minutes per side to easily make the switch to the new four-leaf springs. By cleaning all surfaces and going to all steel shorter lock nuts I was even able to re-use the old U-bolts and other hardware. Haven't used it yet (still repairing lights) but I'm sure there'll be a noticeable difference for the better! Thanks e-trailer!

The Reline trailer suspension fit perfect on my small sailboat trailer. It was easy to install and installation instructions video was great for a first timer like me to do the job. Great customer service support helped me out when the first suspension was too big for my trailer. I return it and got the right size. I am very satisfied with the product and the price on the suspension.

I have purchased a number of items from etrailer.com such ans leaf springs, axle and hub assembly, and other items as well, I recently finished the trailer and it is now on a cross country trip. The trailer has just finished a 3,000 mile leg of this trip and I am told it was so smooth that it could not be felt by the towing vehicle.

Every product I have ordered from etrailer.com has been top quality and has worked extremely well. I would come back again for any of my future trailer needs.

  • Replacing Leaf Springs On An EZ Loader Trailer With 26" Long Double Eye Springs
Thanks for providing all of those specs. We do carry a few 26" long leaf springs like the # e22YR. This is made for a 4,000 lb axle, so each spring is rated for 2,000 lbs individually. We would like to confirm your axle weight capacity prior to ordering springs. With a tandem axle trailer, we would have to assume that your axles are rated for a bit more than 2,000 lbs each. Usually it would be like 3,500 lbs per axle or more. I do suggest inspecting the square axle tube itself to see...

  • Correct 30-1/2 Inch Long 7-Leaf Slipper Spring For 15,000 lb Trailer Axle
There isn't a correct option for a slipper spring end type (radius or flat) for a 15k axle, or a particular fit for the Dexter Tandem-Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit for 3" Slipper Springs # HAP-203-03. Flat and radius ends are completely interchangeable and either will work just fine, you only need to make sure your dimensions are correct. Since you mentioned having a 15,000 lb axle and your spring is 30-1/2" long and 3" wide you can use either of the following: - Dexter Axle 7-Leaf Slipper...

  • Replacing 6-Leaf Springs on 12K Axles with 7-Leaf
If the leaf springs are the same size and type then there will be no issues with replacement. The more leaves there is, the greater capacity the spring will have most likely. The 7-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End part # SP-270275 is a slipper spring measuring 30.5" long x 3" wide and it has a 15,000 lb capacity for the pair. In regards to u-bolts, they are typically a one type use only product so they will need to be replaced as well with the Replacement U-Bolt w/Locknuts part # 11-70.

  • How To Choose Correct Replacement Leaf Springs for a 1959 Shasta Deluxe Trailer
In order to find the correct replacement leaf springs for a trailer you first need to start by noting the type whether that be slipper or double eye. Then, you'll need to measure their unloaded length via jacking up the trailer. If the springs are worn they will measure longer than their replacement. Lastly, you will need to note the axle capacity which is found on the tag in the center of the beam. Please note, the number of leaves does not really denote capacity as leaves have different...
