Rough roads can make a trailer shake and rattle, but the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension uses Aeon rubber springs to keep things under control. These fitted rubber springs absorb road shock and automatically stiffen as the load increases, so the trailer stays smooth whether it’s empty or maxed out. With 2" of total travel, the suspension cushions impacts and helps protect cargo from harsh jolts along the way.
When terrain gets rough or uneven, stability matters. The pivoting arms on this system keep the trailer level by letting each side move independently. That means all the tires stay in contact with the ground, even when one side dips into a rut or roll. The result is steady tracking, less sway, and a smoother pull through all kinds of terrain.
This suspension is made for serious work. Each unit is built for a single-axle setup with a 3-1/2" diameter round axle and carries up to 8,000 lbs. The heavy-duty steel frame is powder-coated for rust resistance and long-term durability. It’s engineered to replace leaf springs directly, giving you a stronger, quieter, and more capable setup that won’t bottom out under pressure.
No more clanking, squeaking, or constant greasing. The Silent Ride system is virtually maintenance-free thanks to its bonded rubber bushings and progressive-rate springs. The rubber components act as built-in return devices, minimizing rattle and keeping the trailer calm over bumps. With a 5-year limited warranty and a 10-year warranty on the rubber parts, it’s made to keep rolling quietly for the long haul.
Installing the system is simple and flexible. It mounts to a 2" x 4" hollow steel crossmember with either a 1/8" or 3/16" wall thickness (not included). You can bolt it on using Grade-5, 5/8" bolts or weld it for a permanent fit. The included axle seats are designed to be welded to the axle beam, making the connection solid and secure once everything’s in place.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Timbren Silent Ride Suspension System. This is going to replace your trailer's existing leaf spring suspension with these two rugged steel units that work with your trailers existing axle and hubs to absorb road shock, minimize your trailer bounce and rattle, and to help protect your trailer's components in cargo. This kit is designed for use with single axles that are three and a half inches in diameter and round. They have a weight capacity of 8,000 pounds and there are several components that are going to work together to provide that nice, smooth, quiet, stable ride for your trailer. The first one is going to be our pivoting arm.
And so each unit is going to have this pivot point here and the rest of this is the arm that's going to pivot to ensure that all tires are hugging the road, even on your rough, bumpy terrain. And this is gonna help keep the trailer level even on uneven ground. Then we're also going to have our AEON rubber springs that are going to absorb your shock and support the trailer's load. These are a progressive rate spring, so they are gonna compress and become stiffer and stronger as the load increases. So the heavier the load, the stronger they are going to be.
These will act as the return device to help minimize rattle and bottoming out. And then we are going to have these fitted rubber bushings here that are going to allow the control arms to fully engage and ensure the springs are in use at all times. So these are high quality construction. These metal components here are a heavy duty steel construction, and they also have the powder coat finish on them to resist rust and corrosion. And then our rubber here is very tough, long-lasting rubber so these are gonna hold up really well for you for a long time to come.
Because they use these progressive rate springs, there's gonna be very little maintenance, basically virtually maintenance free, so you're not gonna have to worry about doing a whole lot to them. They are gonna do a great job with very little adjustments. So getting these installed, these can be bolted on or welded on. You are going to need to weld the axle seats onto your axle, which if you have axle seats already on your axle, you might have to grind those off to get these put in place. This is going to require a two inch by three inch hollow steel cross member here to attach the units.
That is not included, you will need one with a one eighth inch wall of thickness. You can find that at your local hardware store in the welding section most likely. Very easy to come across those, so get that mounted in place. But once you have these installed, they are gonna do a really good job for you. Everyone I've talked to has said that these are a night and day difference with their original suspension system. These do a really good job of making it a much smoother ride for their trailer. Installation went well. Not yet used for a heavy load. Switched from leaf spring suspension and empty doesn't seem to bounce any less than prior to the switch. Moderate load does show some improvement.
Had some problems with missing parts, but customer service was on the ball. got rest of parts 4 days later.. So to say customer was very helpful is an understatement. Installment was easy. Instructions were helpful. etrailer has my vote....
I like the product. But the instructions aren’t the best one part of the instructions tell you to bolt the cross member on then when you look at the picture they tell you to weld it. If you look at your videos they showed a bracket on the front of the hanger that you can bolt it on. To weld it on you have to be careful not to burn the rubber part of the suspension that is right where they want you to weld it.
Ok, probably overkill and certainly makes for a premium utility trailer. But compared to other trailers, there’s zero rattling and bouncing around. Install went better than expected too. Did have to weld quick to keep the heat down since the rubbers are right on the other side!
Probably the best upgrade I will ever do to our Roof Top Tent trailer. Rides absolutely amazing. I’ll never run leaf springs again.

My worries about my trailer have been removed. I am very happy with the suspension system and would recommend these suspension systems.
It is quiet, but… Since they are both mounted to a solid axle it doesn’t provide any sway from side to side. It is very bouncy on uneven side to side bumps and doesn’t track well. I’m sure this works well in a spindle configuration when spindles/wheels are independent. I ordered new leaf springs to remove them. Quite disappointed.
I have had both leaf suspensions and torsion suspensions on pull behind campers. I decided to try these when I had to replace my torsion axles. The Timbrens are without a doubt the best suspension I have ever used. The trailer rides much smoother as it creates an independent suspension for each wheel. The rubber pad absorption design adds to the smoothness. The camper is also much more stable when towing and I don,t end up with stuff all over the floor of the camper from a rough ride. I am extremely satisfied and highly recommend this suspension system.
I’m really torn about these. On the one hand, they are silent and tow really really well. Until you hit a bump. So far, our microwave broke, the hood on our range came loose, and the Aeon (sp?) dampeners should ideally be taller to prevent the axle from hitting the frame when a pothole is hit. I have contacted the manufacturer and they have been super supportive and sent me 5k springs, but it didn’t fix the bottoming out issue. I am at a loss as to what to do next. So am I happy? Not really. Did it solve my issue? Kinda. What would make it perfect is a taller spring or some way to adjust the articulating arms so they are so closed (like scissors) and give the axle a reason to hit the frame. That jarring caused the microwave to break and the hood to come loose. We didn’t have these issues with the leaf springs.
