Short 2-1/4" spring hangers can leave the front and rear axles sitting higher than the center axle on a triple-axle Comfort Ride system. These spacers lower the outer axles to restore proper alignment and even load distribution.
Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Spring Systems are designed around 3-1/4" spring hangers. On some triple-axle trailers, the existing hangers measure only 2-1/4" from the bottom of the frame to the center of the spring-eye bolt. That leaves the center axle sitting lower than the front and rear axles, which can shift the load unevenly across the suspension.
These spacer blocks install between the slipper springs and axle saddles at the front and rear axles, lowering those axles so all 3 sit at matching relative heights. This helps distribute trailer weight more evenly and can reduce poor tracking, suspension stress, and premature tire wear.
Each spacer uses a top indexing hole that mates with the slipper spring nut and a bottom locating stud that fits into the axle saddle. These locating points help keep the spacer positioned correctly and maintain the intended suspension geometry.
The spacers can also be used with tandem-axle leaf spring suspensions to raise the trailer approximately 1/2". The added height can improve tire-to-fender clearance or help level the trailer more closely with the tow vehicle.
For triple-axle Comfort Ride applications, use only with 2-1/4" spring hangers. Roadmaster does not recommend using this kit with other hanger heights because improper axle alignment can cause excessive tire wear.
