A firm axle mount keeps everything tracking straight and steady. These U-bolt plates lock your 2-3/8" round axle securely to the 1-3/4" wide leaf springs with 9/16" diameter U-bolts (sold separately). When parts line up the way they should, the job goes faster and lasts longer. Measuring 5-7/8" long and 3-3/4" wide, with 2-3/8" spacing between holes side to side and 1-3/4" front to back, these plates match the geometry of common 1-3/4" springs and 2-3/8" axles. The fit is straightforward and consistent, giving you a reliable setup every time.
You get two plates in the box—everything you need to mount both sides of one axle. Combine them with your choice of 9/16" U-bolts and you’ve got a solid tie-down that keeps the axle and springs working together the way they should.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look at these U-bolt plates. Now these U-bolt plates are going to use two 9/16 of an inch diameter U-bolts, which are sold separately, to attach your 2 3/8 inch in diameter trailer axle to your 1 3/4 inch wide leaf springs. These plates are made here in the U.S.A. and let me come over to the other side of my table here to the front and give you some overall measurements. So I wanna first measure the overall length, so lining that up, as you can see, we are sitting right at 5 7/8 inches long.
And then measuring the holes here I'm gonna be measuring inside of hole to inside of hole, or another way to put that is in between the holes. And as you can see hopefully, we are sitting right at 2 3/8 inches. And then the overall width, we're sitting right at 3 3/4 inches wide. And then in regards to those holes, again measuring in between the holes inside to inside, we're sitting at that 1 3/4 inch measurement. And again, as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, the bolt hole diameter is 9/16 of an inch.

This plate is not sturdy at all plate was bending when tightening and axles were shifting

I bought springs, shackle bolts, and u-bolts and plates. Everything was great and fit perfectly. Only issue were the u bolts which were not galvanized. However, at a local trailer store, I bought galvanized U bolts for $4.50 each.
For the DYIers, taking the old ones off took more than 4 hours for each side. My existing shackle bolts were so heavily rusted that I had to cut three off with a hack saw. Difficulty was confined space to operate hack saw with boat still on trailer. However, reassembling the new springs was less than 45 minutes each side.
Must have tools are large diameter 3/4-13/16-7/8 deep sockets (6 point), 2 2 foot long breaker bars and a can of PB blaster.
For safety: Good quality jack stands, minimum of 3--don't rely on the front trailer jack as it may roll.
By the way, I did these myself and I am 64 years old.

I looked all over and no one had these it seems that everybody had 2 inch. My boat trailer is an older one probably from the 1970s with a1 3/4 axle not that common anymore. Thanks etrailer just what I needed.

Good product with zinc oxide coating to resist corrosion. I would give this product a better rating but truthfully, it needs to be thicker to resist bending when the 1/2-13 u-bolts are tighten to recommended torque specifications.
