Upgrading to LEDs means you get better visibility and longer life with far less power draw. This 4" round Light Guide tail light uses 12 white LEDs behind a red lens to deliver bright stop, tail, and turn signals that stay clear and consistent. The smooth X-shape across the face gives it a clean, modern look while spreading light evenly. With just 0.421 amps at 12.8V for stop and turn and 0.114 amps for tail, it’s bright without overloading your circuit—and you’ll never need to change a bulb again.
If your trailer ever hits the water or sees wet roads, this light is ready for it. The housing and lens are sonically sealed into a single waterproof unit that keeps out moisture completely. That means no fogging, no shorted circuits, and no corroded LEDs. It’s designed to stay reliable even after being submerged, making it a solid choice for boat trailers or any trailer that deals with harsh weather.
Bumpy roads can take a toll on traditional lights, but this LED light is built using surface-mount technology (SMT) on its circuit board. That design shrugs off shock and vibration while also helping manage heat better, keeping the diodes running cooler for longer life. The tough polycarbonate housing adds another layer of protection against road debris and everyday wear.
Hookup is straightforward thanks to the standard PL-3, 3-prong plug setup. Just add a matching 3-wire pigtail (sold separately), connect power and ground, and you’re good to go. The recessed mount fits neatly into a grommet (sold separately), giving the light a clean finish that sits flush with your trailer body—all without extra drilling if you’re swapping an existing 4" round light.

You can count on this tail light meeting all the right standards—it's DOT compliant and meets FMVSS 108 and CMVSS 108 for stop, tail, and turn lighting. So when you’re out on the road or at the ramp, you’ll have reliable performance that’s legal, visible, and built to last with LED technology backed by a lifetime warranty on the diodes.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics Light Guide LED Trailer Taillight. Now, before we get into a lot of the features, I want to go ahead and show you what it looks like with power running to it. So, I'm going to turn on my power source, and I'm going to turn off my overhead lights. This is the taillight function of the unit. When we apply the brakes, you can see how the signal output increases, and it does that same thing when we activate our turn signals. Now this round trailer taillight serves three functions, such as your stop light, taillight, and turn signal light. The Light Guide Series features a smooth X shape across the face of the light. It is sonically sealed, so it has a waterproof housing and lens unit that is submersible.
It features durable surface mount technology when it comes to the construction of the LED circuit board. That better withstands shock and vibration and allows improved heat distribution and an overall thinner construction. Now LEDs make great replacements for incandescents. They last longer. They burn brighter. They're more efficient.
You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. This unit features a red polycarbonate lens. It's very strong and durable. It's a recessed mount installation with a mounting grommet, and then on the back it accepts a three-wire pigtail for your wiring. Those items are sold separately.
The grommet and the pigtail wiring are sold separately and available at etrailer.com.It is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. When it comes to the overall dimensions, starting with the diameter, we're looking at 4-5/16. Overall depth, including the housing for the plug there, is 1-11/16" deep. The power draw at 12.8 volts for the stop and turn signal light is 0.421 amps. For the taillight it's 0.114 amps.
Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics Light Guide LED Trailer Taillight.

Great Customer Service
Should be an easy install.
Customer service five stars, product two stars. Well the product works just fine it does not fit into the 4-in hole for my RV. I actually broke the plastic around the housing trying to get it in.

This light has a diameter of 4.31 inches by 1.69 inches deep. You will need a grommet part # A45GB and a plug such as part # A45PB or part # A47PB to finish the installation. Using a bracket like part # BK45BB can make it easier to mount the light on your trailer.
