This compact red LED light delivers bright, even illumination while using very little power—just 0.082 amps at 12.8 volts. Built for harsh conditions, this light is sonically sealed so the lens and housing form one solid waterproof unit. That means moisture can’t sneak in and ruin the diode or wiring, even if the trailer gets submerged. Whether it’s heavy rain, a washdown, or a launch ramp, the light stays dry inside and keeps working like new.
Visibility is safety, and this PC-rated light spreads its beam a full 180 degrees—90 degrees to each side of centerline. When properly installed, it works as both a clearance and side marker light, making your trailer clearly visible from multiple angles. It meets DOT requirements too, so you know it’s road ready.
Installation is simple and secure. You only need a 3/4" hole for the recessed mount, and the included gasket helps seal it tight. The locking ring keeps the light firmly seated and helps deter theft by holding it snugly in place. A 2-wire pigtail with 0.18" male bullets makes wiring straightforward—one for power and one for ground—saving time during setup.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics LED clearance and side marker light with a locking ring. This small, round trailer light's going to function as both a clearance light and side marker light when properly mounted. This does feature a sonically sealed design, so the housing is waterproof and the lens unit's waterproof, so it is submersible. LEDs are going to make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, they're much more efficient. This is a red lens.
Now, the housing and the lens is going to be made from a polycarbonate construction. It's very strong and durable. When mounting this, it is designed to be a recess mount. It does come with the included rubber gasket that goes in between the light and the mounting surface. Now the installation does require a 3/4 inch diameter hole at the desired location. That's the diameter here at the base of the light, and it's going to come with the included locking ring.
This is going to deter theft of the light. This ring secures the light inside the mounting hole in the trailer. It's got the built-in tabs on it that are going to grip around the threaded portion on the base of the light, so it just goes over that point there. Push it in, it grabs on, and it really does hold tight for a nice, strong fit. Again, that's really going to help deter theft.
It's also going to add to the security of the light at the mounting location. This is a 2-wire design. You can see that it has a wire casing that goes around the wires, keeping them together. It's also going to keep them safe and protected. Then on the end of the wires, we're going to have the .180 male bullets. We're going to have the white wire for ground, black wire for power.
This is Department of Transportation compliant. It's a PC-rated light. Taking a look at some of the dimensions real quick. The actual light, here at the front, is going to give us a diameter of about 1 inch, and then again, this rear portion right here is going to give us a diameter of 3/4 of an inch. The depth, that's going to measure about 7/8 of an inch. The power draw at 12.8 volts is 0.082 amps. It's going to contain one diode or one LED, and Optronics is going to cover that LED with a lifetime warranty. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to our external power source, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead light, so you can see it in a low light setting. Here, you can see the light sends out a nice, strong, consistent signal. Again, it's going to contain one LED or one diode. Really strong signal output for as small of a light as it is. Again, the LEDs are great. They're going to be much brighter when compared to incandescent lights. They're going to last longer, so you don't have to worry about brittle filaments, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs. Overall, they're just going to be more efficient. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics LED clearance and side marker light with the included locking ring.

I want to thank you for all your help with my trailer you were more helpful than you realize. So this is my trailer for a 22' Flats Cat shallow draft Catamaran. I totally dismantled my trailer and buffed by hand with a wire buffer and sand blasted in some spots and applied multiple coats of some very expensive galvanize paint (Z.R.C.). I installed all new C. E. Smith Carpet (about 80'), seven new LED waterproof lights, new springs, new equalizers, new tongue jack, new wench, new safety chain, new chain brackets, all new SS hardware and a 35' long wiring harness.
I was able to send only one review with a picture of the safety chain and brackets. I'm having a little trouble with the rest..oh some of these items were bought locally or from your competitors, until I found ETRAILER. Your prices were cheaper for the exact same things. I wish they didnt use the cheapest off color mounting nut and lock washer. Would be really smart to just use the right hardware so these self grounding posts dont always rust away. The whole reason im buying one in the first place.
The hardware was all mismatched. It should have been stainless steel hardware to prevent a bad ground over time. The bolt was a metric grade 5, and the nut was grade 8, the screws that hold the light to the mounting bracket are stainless.

Had trouble tracking these specific lights down online. I have bought a few things from etrailer before and they always deliver exactly as advertised. These are a direct replacement for the lights that I had which seemed impossible to find!
The light works excellent. Unfortunately after I took the old one off I realized that the original was never wired up correctly from the factory lol. New light is much brighter so I might go ahead and replace the other two. Received very quickly.

These little buggers nice bright red no electrical problems. Installation these do not thread in, you have to push the metal into the plastic which makes a clicking sound as it slides in. So if you can't get to click where you want its loose. so before you put them on add clear silicone behind the black area to insure a good fit. Also once there on taking them off is even harder luckily I had a spare. so I give this product a three for installation difficulty. shipping was on time.
