Looks matter when you’re upgrading your trailer lighting, and this light has a polished chrome bezel that gives it a finished appearance once mounted. The clear lens paired with red LEDs gives off a crisp, modern look that blends well with newer LED setups while still meeting DOT requirements. Installation is straightforward thanks to a surface-mount design with mounting holes spaced 4-5/8" apart (center to center). The wiring uses a 2-wire setup with 0.180 male bullets—one for power and one for ground—so there’s no guesswork involved. You’ll just need a 1-1/2" diameter hole for the wiring, and then it’s ready to go without any special tools or connectors.
This P2-rated light projects a 45-degree beam on either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. That focused pattern makes it perfect for use as either a clearance light or a side marker light when mounted properly. It meets DOT standards so your setup stays compliant while ensuring you’re seen from the right angles on the road or at the ramp.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking look at the Optronics LED clearance or side marker light. This light functions as a clearance or side marker light for your trailer. It features a sealed, waterproof design. It's a two wire design, so you have one for power, and one for ground. It comes with the .180 male bullet connectors on there. If you don't want them on there, you can cut them off, strip back the wiring for hard wire applications.This is an LED system.
LED's make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer and they burn brighter, they're more efficient. With LED's you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. It's P2 rated, it's SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. It features a really nice, clear polycarbonate lens with red LED's and it has this chrome bezel that ads a clean finished look and covers the installation hardware.Mounting hardware is not included.
It does have a two mount hole design. The mount holes are separated on center by about 4 and 5/8 inches. Now I did take an overall length measurement, going edge-to-edge. I'm going to turn it around, a little bit better to measure the backside here. A little bit more accurate.
I took a measurement, edge-to-edge, and got a measurement of about 6 and 5/8 to 6 11/16 of an inch, right in that area. Going this direction, I got a measurement of 2 and 1/4 inches. The overall thickness, just the housing area, is about 11/16 of an inch.We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power that way you can see what it looks like with some power running through it. Then we'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a lower light setting. This unit sends out a nice, consistent signal.
It's a very bright light, it's a 4 LED or 4 diode design. The multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. When it comes to the warranty on the unit, Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LED's. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics LED clearance or side marker light.
