Replace a worn hub on your 8,000-lb hybrid spring axle. Larger outer bearing helps extend axle life while maintaining standard 7K overhang. Fits 12" electric or hydraulic drum brakes.
A worn or damaged brake hub can take your trailer out of service quickly, especially when you're dealing with an 8,000-lb axle carrying heavier loads. This cast iron replacement hub is designed for hybrid spring axles and gives your 12" electric or hydraulic drum brakes the surface they need for proper brake shoe engagement.
The hybrid axle design uses a larger outer bearing than a standard axle to help extend axle life under heavier loads. At the same time, the hub maintains the same overhang as a standard 7,000-lb axle, giving you the added capacity of an 8K setup without changing that axle geometry.
The hub accepts Valcrum threaded dust caps, which screw into place instead of relying on a press-fit connection. This design can provide better sealing and helps protect the cap from being knocked loose or damaged during travel and maintenance.
Bearing races and 5/8" zinc-plated wheel studs come installed in the hub, eliminating a few steps during replacement. The zinc coating also helps protect the studs from corrosion around the wheel mounting area.
This is a genuine Lippert replacement for hybrid spring axle applications, but it isn't limited to Lippert-built axles. It can also be used with compatible competitor axles when the axle rating, brake size, bolt pattern, stud size, and other hub dimensions match your existing setup.
Confirm the axle rating, brake size, bolt pattern, stud size, and hub dimensions before ordering.
