Shuddering brakes, trailer sway, or grinding under load? Worn drums and bearings put safety at risk. An ABS-ready hub built for Dexter's Tow Assist restores smooth braking, steady tracking, and the peace of mind to tow without second-guessing.
You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Dexter's ABS Tow Assist earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. Inside this replacement assembly, a tone ring constantly feeds data to your existing sensor and ABS Tow Assist brain, helping prevent wheel lockup and keeping your trailer tracking straight. It helps give you the control and stability you count on under pressure.
Keeping your hubs greased is faster and cleaner with the included E-Z Lube cap. Just pop the plug, attach your grease gun to the zerk, and service the bearings without tearing the hub apart or making a huge mess.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this trailer hub and drum assembly for your Dexter ABS Tow Assist for your 8,000 pound EZ lube trailer axles. Now, if you have shuttering brakes, trailer sway, or that grinding sound when you're under a load, those are all red flags that your drums and bearings are probably worn out, and more than that, your safety might be at risk as well. That's where this AVS-ready hub is going to come into play, This is designed for your Dexter's Toe Assist setup, so this is gonna bring back smooth braking, steady tracking, and most importantly, peace of mind when you're towing. Now, this iron hub and drum includes the integrated toothy edge that's ready to connect with Dexter's ABS Tow Assist system.
This edge constantly feeds data to the ABS system to help prevent the wheel. to help prevent wheel lockup and keep your trailer tracking straight. So it's all about stability and control when you need it the most. Now, this is gonna be for anyone running 8,000 pound EZ lube axles. As you can see here, the spindle compatibility.
This does require a 2.25-inch inner diameter steel. This is gonna work with wheel sizes that are from 16 inches to 17 1/2 inches. And obviously this is gonna work with your electric brakes. The size of this drum, the diameter is going to be 12 inches and then the width is 3 3/8 inches. You're gonna get this one assembly with the bearings and caps and other accessories here.
Now talking about what comes with this, you're gonna get the outer and inner bearings. So the outer bearing here is gonna be 02475, and you can typically see that number on the perimeter of the bearing. And then the inner bearing is gonna be 25580. And then you're gonna get the grease seal that you see right here, and then the EZ lube cap along with the grease cap plug, and then the lug nuts that I already have kind of loosely on the wheel bolts there, and nut retainer and spindle jam nut. The races have already been pressed in, so you're going to get everything that you see here.
Everything's gonna be together and designed to work together. The pattern, bolt pattern is 8 on 6 1/2 inches. And if you need help measuring your bolt pattern, on this product page a little bit lower, we do have instructions on how to properly measure your bolt pattern, the pattern to determine what you need. The wheel stud size is 5/8 of an inch. And this can't be rebored. And if you have any other questions, whether it's about this assembly or anything else that we carry here at etrailer.com, don't hesitate to reach out to us 'cause we wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
