When you’re hauling serious weight, you need stopping power you can count on. This 12-1/4" hub-and-rotor assembly is made to work with 7,000-lb Dexter disc brakes and wheels from 16" to 17". The cast iron build gives it the strength to handle demanding loads and keep braking smooth mile after mile. With bearings, races, grease seal, and grease cap already included, it’s ready to go on without hunting for extra parts.
Long grades and heavy trailers can build up brake heat fast. The vented rotor design moves air through the disc to keep temperatures down, helping prevent warping or fade when the brakes get a workout. The precise machining minimizes runout so it runs true, giving you more consistent braking even after repeated stops.
Moisture, road grime, and salt can wear out metal fast. The E-coat finish protects the cast iron surface from corrosion and wear, so the hub stays in better shape over time. Whether you tow through wet conditions or store your trailer outside, that finish helps keep everything looking good and performing reliably.
Swapping hubs shouldn’t be complicated. This Dexter assembly includes the bearings (25580 inner, 14125A outer), matching races (25520 and 14276), GS-2250DL grease seal, and grease cap—all ready for installation. The one-piece hub-and-rotor design keeps contaminants out between components and simplifies setup so you can get back on the road faster.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Dexter 12-1/4" E-coat Hub-and-Rotor Assembly with the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern for 7,000 pound Dexter axles. Now, this whole Hub-and-Rotor Assembly will work with 7,000 pound Dexter axles with disc brakes. They do use a machine process to help minimize runout and warping. It helps keep contaminants so it can't get in between your rotor and your hub. The hub and the rotor itself has a vented design to dissipate heat. This will regulate temperature and prevents overheating.
It is a cast iron construction, provides strength and durability. It has an E-coat finish on it to protect against corrosion and wear. This part will include everything laid out here on the table: the hub and rotor itself, the inner, the outer bearing, the bearing races -- which are already pre-installed into the hub -- the double loop grease seal, the grease cap, the eight 1/2" by 20 lug nuts for attaching your wheel to this hub, and all these parts are made in the U.S.A.Again, a few specs on this. It's designed to fit a axle of 7,000 pound Dexter axle with disc brakes. The wheel size that'll work on this is 16", 16-1/2", and 17". The bolt pattern we mentioned is an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern.
The wheel bolt diameter, which uses the wheel lug nuts of 1/2" by 20. The rotor diameter itself is 12-1/4". Now, the bearings that are used, the inner bearing, which is part number 25580, has a 1.75" inner diameter. The outer bearing is part number 14125A, has a 1.25" inner diameter. The races, which I mentioned, are all pre-installed in here.
The grease seal, which is a double loop grease seal, it's part number GS-225ODL, has an inner diameter of 2.25" and an overall diameter of 3.376". Again, the grease cap and lug nuts are all included also. But that should do it for the review on the Dexter 12-1/4" E-coat Hub-and-Rotor Assembly with the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern for 7,000 pound Dexter axles.
