If your old drums are dragging or fading, this DeeMaxx 13" disc brake assembly with an integral hub-rotor makes a real difference. It’s built for 7,000-lb axles and uses ceramic brake pads with a stainless steel piston for fast, responsive braking. The one-piece hub-and-rotor design keeps everything true and balanced for smooth, controlled stops.
Salt, water, and road treatments can eat through standard coatings fast. The Maxx coating on the hub-rotor, caliper, and bracket provides over 1,000 hours of salt spray protection. Drainage holes in the hat section let water escape easily, reducing the chance of corrosion inside the rotor. This same high-grade finish is trusted in tough environments by agencies like the U.S. Coast Guard.
Heavy braking and long grades can build up heat that weakens stopping power. This assembly uses vented rotors and added airflow near the hub to dissipate heat faster, preventing brake fade and extending pad life. Even under heavy loads, braking stays consistent and controlled.
This setup is designed to save time during installation and upkeep. Each caliper includes laser-etched instructions that show how to mount and bleed the brakes correctly—no guesswork needed. Each kit includes one hub-rotor assembly with bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. It’s rated for 7,000-lb axles with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and 1/2" wheel bolts. Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this D-Max Brake Assembly. This is going to allow you to replace one brake for your trailers 7000 pound capacity axle. Our rotor here is 13 inches in diameter, and you can see we have the 8 on 6 and a half inch bolt pattern with the half inch wheel stud diameter on this. So those dimensions are typical for assemblies that work on your 16 inch and larger wheels. These do have the integrated hub and rotor assembly as well as the brake caliper and our caliper mounting brackets here on the back side.
You can see, these are going to have your 5 bolt brake flange configuration, so that you can get it mounted onto your axle pretty easily. We do also have the races pre-installed on the front, the inside, and the outside. We're also going to get the bearings and the seal as well as the cap. If you're needing any of the details on those races, bearings, or seal and cap, those are available, as you can see on the screen there. So, to make sure that this is going to work for you, this is also going to include the lug nuts for your half inch studs there, so you can hold your wheel assembly in place, as well as hardware to get this mounted onto your axle.
This does have a matte coat finish on the hub and rotor as well as the caliper and caliper mounting brackets, and that's going to offer excellent rust and corrosion resistance. It's got a salt spray rating of over 1000 hours, so it is going to be comparable to your tactical matte finish. These are going to be great for your boat trailers or trailers used in coastal areas or on heavily treated roads where there's going to be a lot of contact with salt and other corrosive materials. And you can see these, this does have these drain holes here on the side that's going to allow water to drain more easily. So it's going to be especially great for your boat trailers and that sort of thing.
So, obviously, these brakes are going to be a great option for you, especially with the single option. Definitely going to be a great replacement for a brake assembly on your 7000 pound capacity axle. So if you are looking just to replace a single one, this is going to be a great way to go. Of course, it is always better to replace them in pairs so that both sides are going to be braking equally. And we do have kits available that give you two brake assemblies, so one for each side.

The best upgrade that I could’ve made to my fifth wheel was to get rid of those drum brakes and converted over to electric over hydraulic
