Features to know about

Full Bed Access: Roll-Up Vinyl Design

When you need to haul bigger cargo, this cover rolls up fast and stays put with its adjustable straps and secure buckles. You can open it fully without blocking your rear window, so you keep the whole bed usable anytime. The pull straps are easy to grip, and the latches on both sides of the tailgate make opening simple. It’s a soft, roll-up design that sits over the top of the bed rails for quick everyday use.

Keeps Gear Dry: Weather Seals with Hook-and-Loop Rails

A good cover should protect your tools or groceries from rain and dust without being a hassle. This one seals tight using hook-and-loop fasteners that pull evenly along the rails, keeping water out with no drain tubes needed. The textured matte black vinyl stays snug thanks to manual tension control, so it always looks sharp and keeps your bed dry.

Built to Last: Vinyl and Aluminum Construction

This cover uses durable vinyl stretched over sturdy aluminum side rails and bows. It’s light enough to handle easily but strong enough to hold its shape through daily use. The height sits just 1-1/4" above the bed rails, giving it a clean, low look while adding a layer of security for what’s underneath.

Easy to Install: Clamp-On Mounting

You don’t need tools or a long afternoon to install this cover. The rails clamp directly to the bed lip—no drilling, no special hardware. Once clamped on, the cover aligns cleanly and latches at the tailgate so you can lock everything up tight when you’re done loading. It’s straightforward, quick, and gives you a finished look that works right out of the box.

Video Transcript for Review of the etrailer Soft Tonneau Cover

Hi, Matt with etrailer, and today we're talking about the line of etrailer soft roll-up tonneau covers. And this is gonna be on our GMC Sierra today, but this is going to come in multiple variations or fits, so what I recommend doing, is just plugging your vehicle's information into our fit guide to find what's gonna be the best fit for you. This is gonna be a soft roll-up tonneau cover, and you're mainly gonna have two types, and you're gonna have your hard tonneau covers and your soft tonneau covers. Your hard tonneau cover is gonna be more for security. So if you have anything really important in the back, this would keep those items secured so no one can access them. While the soft tonneau cover like we have today, is just gonna keep things more out of sight and outta mind.

So, I'd recommend keeping things less valuable back here, but it's also gonna be a lot easier to work with, being able to roll it up completely, save a little bit of extra space, and it's still gonna give you a lot of the same benefits giving you a clean finish on top of your truck, and we're gonna help you with that fuel economy too. This is a roll-up style, (tailgate thudding) so, how that's gonna work is you're just pulling these levers, (cover thudding) and release this. And since this is soft too, (fasteners scratching) it really binds into itself really nice. (fasteners scratching) You really start to notice it at the very end when I have it right here next to our truck, or the cab of our truck. And how that's gonna operate is when you have any boxes, maybe you wanna push all the way back here, this is gonna have the ability to really push into itself.

So if you are a little crammed for space, you should should still be able to maneuver this a little bit. And you're gonna secure this down. You have a couple buckles that you'll just wrap it around and secure to the other side. And this is how it's gonna be when you're in the open position, (buckle clicking) and you can tell this gives you a really good fit. I only have one one on right now, but I'm not worried about securing this at all.

(buckle clicking) And if you need to tighten it down a little bit more, if you've noticed things have shifted a bit, you can just adjust these buckles and give this a tight fit. If you are looking at soft tonneau covers, you're gonna have two choices. You're gonna have those fold-up options and you're gonna have those roll-up options. Both of them are gonna give you that protection on the back of your bed from any elements from outside, like rain, and they both are gonna give you more of a clean finish on the back of your vehicle too. Now, one of the major drawbacks to a fold-up tonneau cover is you're only gonna have two thirds of your bed that you can really use or access.

The roll up tonneau cover really solves that issue because it's gonna be able to roll up into itself, giving you a lot more bed access. And it's really my choice of a roll-up tonneau cover, because like I just said, it's gonna give you more room. We can take a deeper look at how this is all gonna work. So we're gonna have these clamps that are gonna attach your rails, to your bed rails. And what I really like about these clamps is they don't require any tools. It's just a knob on here (knob clicking) that you tighten up. And so if you ever needed to remove your entire tonneau cover, you wouldn't need any tools to do that. And how those rails are gonna sit on top of your bed rails, if you notice at the very back, we're gonna obstruct our stake pockets just a bit, so if you are wanting to use these, this might be an issue for you, so definitely reassess what accessories you have. And right next to that, we're gonna have this tensioner. I'm a big fan of this tensioner because with a vinyl tonneau cover, it's eventually is gonna start to stretch, that's with any soft type of tonneau cover. So what this does is you can adjust this really easily to help keep that tension on your cover. And you can really see what I'm talking about when I start to unroll this, (cover flopping) because right now it looks pretty loose, you can see a lot of wrinkles in the tonneau cover itself, but once I get to the very end, the way this is gonna really seat into (tensioner clicking) that tensioner, it's gonna tighten itself up. Removing all those wrinkles. Giving you that more smooth look on top. And afterwards, just come back through the sides and apply pressure to the hook and loop system we have on our bed rails, so we can really secure our tonneau cover to the rails. I know I talked about this being weather resistant, so let me show you what I'm talking about. So we're gonna have this rubber seal at the very end of the tonneau cover that'll press up against your tailgate. And next to that we're gonna have these foam gaskets on our corners, along with some additional padding going down the sides. And one of the things I really like about it is we're gonna have these aluminum rods that go all the way across, and kind of makes this bow up a little bit, and that's gonna help with water runoff so you don't have it pooling on top of the cover. Now no cover is completely waterproof. You're always gonna get a little bit of water getting into your tonneau covers, but I think for this one being a soft tonneau cover, it's gonna do a really good job with it. This is actually one of our coworkers, Dan's truck, and he's been driving around with this tonneau cover for a bit. He really likes it, especially with the amount of water it is keeping out. And it is flapping around in the wind just a little bit, but that's gonna be something you face with any soft tonneau cover, 'cause as you can see, just that material is just gonna wanna really move to any high winds you drive through. But that's pretty common with any soft tonneau cover. And honestly, I think the soft roll-up tonneau covers are gonna do most people just fine, because if you are just looking for that basic weather protection, this is gonna get the job done. Well that's just a look at the line of etrailer soft roll-up tonneau covers. Thanks for watching.

It seems like it should be 1-2 inches longer to fit tighter on the bed. I slid the frame back to the tailgate a little to get a tighter fit when closed, but this is not quite as snugly sealed at the front as result. Might see if I can add a gasket or something to improve the front end. But this also adds some nice space from the buckle so it shouldn't tap the glass like someone was mentioning.
But overall, affordable bed cover that does what it should.

I'm giving 5 stars, because I knew what I was buying.

etrailer was awesome. The ordering and shipping process was seamless, I received several emails regarding the status of my order, and it was on my step when they said it would be.

As for the product itself, I did not have unrealistic expectations about buying a $200 tonneau cover. I just wanted something to keep the majority of the elements and prying eyes out of the bed of my truck. This cover does that. If you are overly obsessive with appearance, spend more money. The cover itself is straight and neat, but the fit and finish isn't. The lines of the cover do not sit with the lines of my bed. I had to scoot it rearward almost 2 inches so the cover would extend to the top of my tailgate. The weather stripping is just barely on the top of the front bulkhead and tailgate. I thought at first I may have received the wrong cover, but I made it work. I expected to need additional weatherstripping if I want a weather tight fit, and I was right. But as I said earlier, I knew what I was buying. This truck is 6 years old and over 100k miles. This cover will do what I need it to do without spending too much money.

Excellent. Fits perfect. Took me less than 15 minutes to unbox and completely install. The video was a huge help. Looks great on my 2026 Colorado Trail Boss. Worth every penny

Installation of the etrailer Soft Tonneau Cover was easy. I like that the tension adjustment blocks are conveniently located at the tailgate end. All the weather gaskets are integral to the system (no separate weather strips to apply separately and fall out of position, later). The special clamping brackets, unique to my Toyota Tundra, insert easily into the deck rail tracks and are secured with large hand knobs versus wrenches. Bonus! The rail tracks remain functional for subsequent cargo tie downs. Overall, very good fit on my 5.5 ft truck bed. See photos.

While I gave you a 5 star, that is based on my satisfaction from purchases in the past. This shold be no diffrerent. The Cover was an exact fit, and the snap down was somewhat difficult, but maybe because it was 30Degrees when I put it on. However, it did "snap" i nplace, and was very tight. Looks good on my 2021 Chevy Colorado Z71, and only the test of time will tell if teh 5 stars stay or not.
Thank you for the videos as they convinced me that the eTrailer was the one to buyt for a few reason. Good value (Not the cheapest out there), Good Looks, God Revews, and a Great Warranty.
I will try and get some pictures posted soon

Easy to install. Fit perfectly on my truck out of the box but has easy adjustments. Went through the car wash, no leaks. Looks great! Really easy to unlatch and roll up. Exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend. Great product.

by:

The installation of the cover went well. Good instructions. When I finished and pushed the back of the cover down to the tailgate I was really impressed by the way the cover looked. Very professional looking. Etrailer is the best supplier for me.

by:

Very simple to install. Stretches tightly over bed with no flapping. Kept gear dry and no worries about anything blowing away.
Had to adjust to seal over tailgate by adjusting position further back.

by:

Moving boxes to storage today in the pouring rain, I was so happy once again to have this vinyl cover. It has held up very well over this past year, with many trips to drop leaves and branches to our local composting place. I don't have to worry about things flying out on the road as I drive, and the tough vinyl has not punctured from tree branches. My only complaint is that the weatherstripping across the front behind the cab is not long enough to seal off water from running into the bed. The bow of the metal rib is high enough that the weatherstrip folds into the bed. If I adjust and move the front end closer, I don't have protection at the tailgate. A relatively easy fix to add a wider piece of rubber, but it would be perfect if they used a 4" wide piece of rubber.

I’ve had the roll up bed cover on my F150 for about a year now, and it is working great. I am happy with the durability and the ease of use of this cover. The price was right and I feel like this was a great purchase.

by:

It’s a good tonneau cover. Seals good. When you roll it up the hardware design makes it a bit bigger than others. I had a rattling noise after installing it and took me a bit to find it because it sounded like it was in the cabin. It was the fastener for when you roll it up to keep it rolled up hitting my rear glass. I put a piece of Velcro patch on my window to stop it. The soft side. I’ll try to load a pic to show you. Installed on a 2026 Canyon you may find another way to stop the noise but it worked.

by:

The box arrived via UPS and the entire setup from receiving the box to having it fully on the truck was 18 minutes.

The instructions are very easy, and no extra tools are needed. The only tool you need is a hex key and it's included.

I found the initial connect from the frame rail to the front rail/tonneau was annoying because while you are doing that it's very easy to push a rail off the top edge which could probably scratch the paint on the bed if you aren't careful.
It didn't happen for me, but it's something to think about.
To avoid that you only really to be aware that it could happen and be careful, but having a helper hold the tailgate end, throwing a strip of painters edging tape or even loosely fitting one of the clamps which holds the rail to the bed at the tail gate end would avoid that possibility.

Other than that, it fits well, it feels well built and I'm really happy with the purchase.

Great product and good price

by:

I installed in in the dark cold wind and it took me less than 30 minutes. very easy to install. Nice and tight cover, I was in a down pour the next day and everything stayed dry.

by:

The cover is better than expected. Secures easily and rolls up easily.
Thank you.

by:

Easy install, low profile. Perfect replacement for my worn out Truxedo soft cover.

by:

I like it,the looks, low profile, and overall clean look.I am skeptical about the velcro holding up over time.I see a lot of trucks going down the road with cover blowing because velcro isn't doing it's job.We will see.

After a year of use and traveling, this tonneau cover still looks and fits like brand new. I will purchase this cover for my next truck rather than one from the dealership.

  • Recommended Tonneau Cover For A 2018 Chevy Silverado 6.5' Bed
Hey Gerald, For your 2018 Chevy Silverado I recommend the etrailer Soft Tonneau Cover # e92DR. The rails will clamp onto the bedrail lip for a quick and easy installation and cover will sit over the top of the bedrails. I have one of the first models of this cover on my Silverado and I'd say what makes this stand out is the easier to grip pull straps to release the cover, the nicer buckles with adjustable strap lengths to secure the cover when rolled up, the easy tension adjustment to...
