Features to know about

Quick Bed Access: Roll-Up Design

You don’t have to pull the whole cover off when you need full use of your truck bed. The Lo Pro rolls up in seconds and self-stores behind the cab with built-in straps, so you can haul bigger gear or tools without obstruction. Because it mounts inside the bed rails, you still have full access to stake pockets and tie-down points for racks or other accessories.

Always Tight and Smooth: Automatic Tension Control

Covers that sag or flap can wear out fast, especially in changing weather. The Lo Pro solves that with a spring-loaded, automatic tension control system that keeps the vinyl fabric tight and wrinkle-free in all temperatures. You don’t have to stop and adjust knobs or straps—it constantly maintains the right tension on its own.

Reliable Weather Protection: Full Perimeter Seals

Rain, dust, and snow can sneak into lesser covers at the corners or tailgate. The Lo Pro uses rubber weather seals on all four sides, including the corners, to help keep your cargo dry. The industrial-strength, leather-grain vinyl doesn’t shrink in cold climates and stays flexible through heat or freezing temperatures.

Clean Look and Better Mileage: Low-Profile Aerodynamics

Some covers stick up high above the bed rails and spoil the truck’s lines. The Lo Pro sits less than 1" above the rails for a sleek, low-profile look that also helps reduce tailgate drag. That aerodynamic shape can improve your gas mileage by up to 10 percent while giving the truck a smoother appearance.

Simple Setup: Quick-Attach Clamps and Snap-In Header Guide

Getting a tonneau cover installed shouldn’t take all day. With the Lo Pro, it’s about 20 minutes using a socket and a ratchet—no drilling required. Three clamps per side hold the rails securely inside the bed, and a snap-in header guide locks everything into place firmly. Once secured, the quick trigger latch at the tailgate makes it easy to open or close with one hand while keeping your cargo protected when locked.

Video Transcript for Feature Review TruXedo Lo Pro Soft Roll-up Tonneau Cover

Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the line of Truxedo, Low Pro, Soft Roll-Up Tonneau covers. These are gonna fit a variety of different makes and models, so be sure to use our fit guide to make sure you get the one that's gonna work with your particular vehicle. When it comes to actually picking out a Tonneau cover for your truck, there's a lot of different options available out there, and what one is gonna be best for you, I feel like is really just gonna be dependent on what you're trying to accomplish. So, if you're going for aesthetics, if you want to improve the look of your truck and just want to keep the weather out of the bed, keep it sealed up and and things out of sight, I feel like this will be a good, viable option for you. Kind of touching on the appearance first, as far as soft roll up Tonneau covers go, I feel like this is about as good as it's gonna get in terms of appearance.

Being the low profile design, it doesn't sit up very high past your truck bed rails, and kind of almost looks factory, honestly, compared to some of the other, older style roll up Tonneau covers where they're a little bit bulkier, a little more obvious, just not as clean, at least in my opinion. And some of 'em will even come up over onto your bed rails here and mount up that way as opposed to this one where it mounts more inside, and because of that, you're still gonna be able to utilize your steak pockets too if you need to. So if you have a ladder rack or, other types of accessories that need to use these steak pockets, you're gonna be able to use 'em with this particular cover. This is going to be made from vinyl, and it feels good, it feels like it's decent quality. I've definitely felt and seen some Tonneau covers that definitely feel cheaper.

So I'd imagine this outta hold up for some time, and that's gonna kind of bring me to my next point. If you're someone looking for a little more security, so maybe you got a work truck, you leave expensive tools back here or something, and you want to keep 'em protected. I mean this will do the job to keep 'em outta sight, and out of the weather and stuff. But if someone wanted to get in here, it wouldn't be all that difficult. But there's other Tonneau covers that are metal, and aluminum, they're a lot harder, and a lot more solid so to speak.

That would provide you with more security and make it a lot more difficult for someone to be able to get inside the bed. So if that's one of your main objectives there, there's a ton of different options out there to choose from. The way the cover's gonna work, whenever you're ready to roll it up, on one side here there's just gonna be a lever that you pull, and that unlocks it. And honestly, I like that better. Some covers have, almost like two little strings that hang down, that you have to pull down at the same time, and sometimes they're just a pain cause you get one going, and then you can't hardly get the next one.

So it's the little things in life, right, that seem to add up. And I'm a fan of this style personally, but you're just gonna be able to roll it up, really nothing to it. It does have bows, these pieces every now and again that rest in there to help give it more support and keep everything tight. Which in turn makes it look a little bit better. But you're able to get this all the way rolled up here, and, once we get it like that, essentially, you're gonna have full complete bed access. So, really not taking up any space at all, compared to some of the other styles. On each side, there's gonna be a strap that you can loop over and connect, to prevent the cover from unrolling, essentially. That way when you're driving around town, and cruisin', you're not gonna have to worry about that. And I mentioned earlier, some of 'em take up some bed space, right So there's styles that kind of fold up in sections and a lot of times with those, they'll come up and cover your whole back window. Which isn't the end of the world, but it is nice to be able to see out that window, right So that's kind of a benefit to the style. And then you have canister type ones too, which will be kind of a box that'll sit in the bed of your truck where the cover will roll into, and those are pretty cool, they look really good and function well, but you do sacrifice a little bit of bed space usually, usually a foot or so here towards the front. So like I said, with all these different styles, it's really just gonna depend on how you plan on using your truck and living with the Tonneau cover. Being that the cover is vinyl, over time, it's out in the sun, and the cold weather, it can kind of stretch out and shrink a little bit. Enough to kind of notice whenever it's closed, it might be a little bit looser, or tighter than normal. If that happens, and it bothers you, there are some tension control little plungers you call 'em here, that you can dial in and out, and adjust the tension there. So just a nice touch, make it look better and make it a little easier close and prevent rainwater from pooling on top and everything else. So you have one of these on each side, and on the sides where it kind of fastens down, we got some hook-and-loop fasteners here. The stitching looks pretty thick in there, I'd imagine it'd hold up for some time. It's a nice wide pattern, and you shouldn't really run into too many issues, I'd imagine. As long as you push it down tight every time, I feel like you'd be in pretty good shape. Being that these covers are custom fit, for your particular truck, the installation isn't gonna be too bad. Essentially they just clamp on to each side of your truck, and, not really a whole lot to it with these ones. I mentioned before, see our fit guide for your particular application, but to kind of add on to that, cause I see this kind of get missed a lot, is make sure you select in our dropdown menu, your particular bed length. Cause for example, this cover will be available for a short bed, a long bed, and things like that. So make sure you focus in on that, that way you get what you need the first time. Other than that though, at the end of the day, this could be potentially a good choice for a lot of you out there, in my opinion. This is one of the more well-built, economical, soft roll up covers that I've seen. And that'll finish up our look-at of the line of Truxedo, Lo Pro, Soft Roll-Up Tonneau covers.

Just what I expected perfect fit

OK - this tonneau cover seems to fit perfectly. I installed about a week ago on a 2022 Ram 1500 Limited with the Ram Boxes AND the split tailgate. Here are some notes of which you should be aware:

1) Watch the eTrailer installation video for installation before you start.
2) Listen to the installation video.
3) The manufacturer's instruction sheet is inaccurate for installing on a Ram Box. The socket / wrench size you need are incorrect. YOU NEED AN 11mm socket and wrench - I'm not sure why they choose 11mm, over the standard 10 or 12 - but what ever.
4) You do not need to remove your tiedown points from the track to install the cover, and if you remove them, it is a pain in the butt to reinstall them once the cover is installed ,because the release handle limits access...so be aware of that.
5) There will be some foam pieces in the kit that are not used - two blocks and a strip. Don't worry about where they go - because they are not used with the Ram Box installation.
6) Watch the eTrailer DIY installation video again
7) You will need assistance to pull the rail tight, go get a good seal. You only need that extra person for about 5 minutes, but you will need help to get the best seal.

That's about it. It took me about 30 minutes and watched the video about 4 times, since the paper instructions don't really apply to the RamBox installation.

Oh, and I have the split tailgate, and find the rear seal over top of the tailgate works best, and still allows access to the swing door, but you need to left the seal a bit when closing the swing tailgate.

I think that's it. Have fun. Great product.

A year later, my cover is still practically new looking. I've had zero issues with wear, stretching, or velcro separation. Installation was very easy, by myself and was a perfect fit. Money well spent!

by:

They did everything they could to get the product to me and ended up shipping it from the manufacture, great quality not to bad to install, only issue was the cover was rolled backwards on the front rail which made it a little confusing at first trying to install, but it was pretty easy to figure out.

by:

Looks great

by:

Read the instructions a couple times before installing. Easy peasy, and it looks great.
I replaced a back flip tri fold hard cover with this I pull a 5th wheel with a short box and a turning point pin box. Each time I hooked up the 5er, I had to remove the back flip cover. Pain in the ear. With the soft roll up I can just roll the cover to open and still have full turn radius.

by:

Easy to install, easy to use, and looks great.

by:

The cover took longer than expected top be delivered, but once it got here, it was an easy installation. The only glitch was that the instructions could have been better illustrated in regards to the placement of the foam trim for the main cross bar that rests on top of the front bed wall.

by:

The product looks great. Just like my old one that lasted 20 years. The item is in good condition despite the rough handling by UPS. End of box was open and driver just threw it on the ground just inside the fence next to road. Must not have been the regular driver. Last one was delivered to front porch in good condition

by:

The installation was easy. I love the release system on it as well as the tensioner. After a year it is still holding up well to the elements and looking good. Being made in the USA is a plus!

by:

Cover was great, prompt shipping and great communication

by:

Got it installed by myself. Took s little longer to get everything adjusted but it fits perfectly.

by:

I have ordered from Etrailer several times over the last few years and I have always received excellent product and service. This last order that I received was a replacement of a wrong order that I made. Etrailer made it pretty easy to rectify my mistake and get me the right tonneau cover.

by:

I’ve had a low pro previously on my truck for 8 years which I think was a better build than this version that I received on 3/29/24 this version the end caps on the rails are a foam insert. The older version had a rubber insert only time will tell how long these peal and stick glued foam pieces will last. Also some of the foam peace’s came glued together which was of no use.

by:

Fits great and very easy to install.

by:

Excited for this but the threading seems to be coming apart. I am not sure it will hold. But it is on and the Velcro holds good. When I bought my last one 12 years ago it seemed like it was built to last. I hope this one last as long. Price was great.

by:

Not my first Truxedo. Every truck I have gets one.

Very durable. Holds up well in MN winters. Adjustability is there. I work in construction now, and I've had some of these take some pretty good hits, but have never failed.

Used to work for a dealership as the Accessories manager, and I got to see them all. Truxedo was all I ever recommended, and why I personally have them

by:

Great product quality and exactly as described. Shipping was fast, and the measurements were accurate. Customer service was also very helpful. Overall, a great experience.

by:

This fits my generation 1 Honda Ridgeline perfectly! For the money, I give it five stars because it functions very nicely and keeps most of the water out, lol. Adds to security and storage so people don't walk along and just grab something out of the back of my truck. Thanks again for your help finding the right part

by:

This cover stays nice and tight with heavy duty Velcro
It seems to be keeping its color and condition well
Seems fairly secure considering it’s just a soft cover

by:

It fits the situation we have with our new 5th wheel which has a Curt pin box with the shock and spring on it. Rolls up nice and looks great when it's closed.

by:

Just installed the cover yesterday. Looks great. Installation went very well. Heavy rain last night and the truck bed was dry. The bed storage door does open, but not completely since it hits the bed cover rails. It opens enough to get most items in - everything that I need. I would recommend this cover.

by:

Great cover. It is the perfect height above the bed rails to allow my Craftsman storage box to slide into the bed.

by:

Looks great! Easy installation too. I also like how the cover stows when rolled up to the front of the truck bed. The small sized roll doesn't block my view when hooking up my 5th wheel trailer. Overall, I've been very happy with this cover.

by:

Looks good. The rubber seal at the tailgate on the passenger side is loose and floppy but looks OK cosmetically. Was fairly easy to install. It helped to watch online utube videos. If it holds up over time and stays as nice it is I would rate it 5 stars but it's too early to tell.
