If you’re tired of climbing around or undoing latches just to get into your truck bed, the Full-Metal JackRabbit makes things simple. The retractable design opens with a turn of the lock handle and glides smoothly into its 9-1/4" by 9-3/4" canister. It locks every 12 inches along the rails, so you can cover part of the bed or open it all the way without removing anything. The built-in pull strap makes it easy to close, even when your hands are full.

This cover feels solid from the moment you pick it up. The heavy-duty extruded aluminum panels resist dents and corrosion, and the matte black finish gives it a clean, low-profile look that fits flush inside the bed rails. It’s tough enough for daily use and holds up through rain, snow, and sun without sagging or fading. The silicone hinges between panels help keep out dust and moisture while letting the cover flex as it moves.

Hauling in wet weather isn’t a problem with this setup. The rails channel water into the canister, where drain tubes route it out through factory bed holes instead of letting it collect inside. Foam seals under the rails and a large rear seal at the tailgate close off gaps that normally let in water and debris. Even after a heavy storm or car wash, most users find their cargo stays clean and dry.
The compact, angled canister keeps your rear window clear and leaves more usable room in the bed compared to boxier setups. You can still carry taller or longer items while keeping other gear covered closer to the cab. It’s a smart design that gives you flexibility without compromising protection or visibility.

Getting this cover on is straightforward. The side rails clamp directly to your bed rails using two clamps per side—no drilling required. Kickstands on the rear clamps help level things out so everything lines up cleanly. Once tightened down, you get a snug fit that stays put without constant adjusting, ready for long-term use right away.

It looks great and was easy to install.
Second Pace Edwards I’ve owned. This one is way nicer than the first. Love the quality and the way it locks.
Perfect fit and it makes the 72 look fantastic.
The installation instructions are terrible. The video by etrailer could be better with close up shot of getting the rails into canister track. Tip: After starting cover into rail, angle outside lip of rail slot into groove to get into track. Product design could be better to ease installation. Solid product, just lack luster instructions for end user.
Works excellent. Easy to both open and close and I like that it locks and is a solid surface. I have a short bed with a fifth wheel hitch in it and there is no interference at all. Exactly what O was looking for.
Love the tonneau install went well I did resort to u ti e video which is actually very helpful looks great on the truck. I did have the same issue the installer on the video I watched did one side slips right on and the other took a minute to get lined op damn if I could figure out why.
Very nice heavy-duty cover! Installation was pretty simple and straight forward. Connecting the rails takes some finesse and patience.
1 year later and it still works like day one. Just keep the channel lubed.
This looks really good on my truck (F350 long-bed). I like it a lot better than my last bed cover (one of those tri-fold ones that just sits on top). It wasn’t that bad to install. It did help to have another person for a few minutes for parts of the install. Unfortunately, within a month it started to pop open when driving down the road and I found multiple small screws started falling out from the back ends of the rail. Some I was able to find in the bed and re-install… others I have to figure out how to replace them. If it had not started to do this, it would easily be 5 stars.
The cover looks and functions well. There were some areas on the interior where the powder coating didn't fully cover the metal. Also, the drain tubes are incredibly difficult to install into the cannister from the under side because of the thickness of the foam seal. This was mentioned in the Etrailer install video, but they should have suggested installing these first while the cannister was outside of the truck bed and could be more easily accessed.
Very easy installation and works really well. I'm glad I purchased this item.
First it leaks , so there is a water inside the bed after each rain and it is aggravated. Second it’s not a good idea to put lock on top of the topper. I would prefer have no lock at all. And once in a while, the toper keeps open while driving.
I just finished installing it with my wife. It’s not a tough install, once you get past attaching the rails to the trough. Neither the installation manual, nor the online videos shows that clearly enough. Many awful words were spoken, mostly by me. But, once we finally made it past that step, it wasn’t bad at all. The cover seems rugged enough and the end hits the tailgate just right for a good seal. It looks great, like it’s always been there. Everything functions as it should and it rolls right over my 5th wheel hitch with about 3/4” to spare. Time will tell how it does going forward.
This was not cheap I really happy with it. Easy install Looks amazing Low profile
It would be perfect if the side rails were 1 inch wider and covered up the "stake" holes in the side of the truck box.
Tonneau covers come in a variety of designs and prices. For me, security and durability were top priorities, so I went with the Full-Metal Jackrabbit. This is a high-quality design that I expect will last as long as my truck. Installation is a bit difficult, but the etrailer video was very helpful, even though it features a GM pickup (I have a RAM with Ramboxes). Like the video, I found putting the canister in the truck near its final position (I used 2 inverted 5 gallon buckets) worked best instead of installing the rails first and then lifting the assembly into the bed (which requires 2 people -- I was working alone). I supported the rails with a 2x4 across the gunwales near the tailgate while attaching them.
Getting the rails aligned and inserted into the canister receptacles was the most difficult part of the assembly. It took a bit of angling and twisting, but things finally clicked into place, and the support screws could be installed. Then the buckets were removed and the canister and rails dropped into place.
The rail attachment hardware fit perfectly, and the resulting rail separation was right on the money at 45-3/16" all the way along, requiring no further shimming or tweaking.
The end result is a great looking tonneau cover that's well worth the money and installation time (took me about 6 hours). One modification I made was to the pull strap, which I didn't like laying loose or having to be stowed. I replaced the strap with a metal 1/4" cable clamp and metal 1-1/2" ring. When I'm in the bed, the ring is easy to grab with a finger. When I need to pull the cover closed from behind the tailgate, I attach a 6 ft. dog leash, and remove it afterwards.
This tonneau cover is removable, but doing so seasonally or more frequently would be laborious. And holes need to be drilled through the truck bed for drain tubes that prevent water accumulation in the canister. But these tubes can be removed temporarily if they're in the way of cargo.
The canister does occupy space at the front of the bed, but there's still about 10" of space beneath it. My RAM has a bed divider fence, and it still fits everywhere under the cover up to where the canister is mounted.
I'm very pleased with this cover, and would purchase it again.
Delivery came earlier than expected!
Attachment by the rails to the carrier box was difficult with sparse instructions.
Very nice cover and very well built!
Have not installed it yet
Very nice looking. Not fully waterproof. Drains need work. Tough installation.
Item arrived as stated when ordered, item received is exactly what I ordered. The Tonneau Cover was easy to install, allows to the bed of the truck without opening the tailgate. I don't have to go from side of the truck to other and unlatch two latches for access to the truck bed, saving time and effort. Good looking product (Tonneau Cover-Aluminum-Matte Black)
